Red Lion Hotel on the River - Jantzen Beach

The hotel was in a convenient location but outside look needs a lot of update. Spider webs in a number of areas covering the building.

The hotel was lovely. Such beautiful views of the Columbia River. We will definitely come back the next time we're in Portland! Very close to downtown, but a nice distance from the downtown noise to make for a relaxing stay. The hotel staff were also extremely friendly and accommodating. The bar staff gave us great recommendations on where to go and what to see.

This is a fine hotel and I would give a higher rating if the management would have done something about the group partying all night across from our room. A fight happened at midnight right in front of our door. I was traveling with family, including my 7 year. not the best experience for children to have people screaming, fighting and partying all night.

You can see the river through the restaurant windows. And our room also has a relatively decent river view. The hotel is a little old, and the facilities could use some updates. But everything seems clean and comfortable!

Convenient location close to I5 and staff was friendly. However, felt it was a little over priced for the age of the hotel and it not being in downtown Portland. Was happy they were pet friendly, though.

THE STAFF WAS VERY ACCOMMODATING AND PROFESSIONAL.

This hotel is showing its age and looking very tired and in need of an update. Terrible understaffing means long waits for check-in and for room service. An old-fashioned convention hotel. By the way, the hamburger on the menu at night is supposedly Kobi and goes for $17. The surrounding area is devoid of anything but fast food restaurants. A bad place to stay if you need to get back and forth to downtown Portland due to continuous bad traffic.

Nice place. Great location. Clean room with comfy beds. Lots of amenities, beautiful restaurant. Last but definitely not least, pet friendly so my four legged "kids" want to go back too.

Would have been nice to have some type of lurks. e.g Breakfast

Staff is very non-experienced and young college students, they are very nice though but due to lack of experience and training, a lot of missing in services which they try to cover up later. They offer shuttle upto 5 miles which is great to catch Train (MAX). On our first day they mentioned that they can pick us back latest by 11PM but even at 10PM they said shuttle pickup cannot be done, they arranged a cab though but had to wait at station for half hour in a rainy night. Next day no housekeeping was done and even after calling 5-6 times, housekeeping came at 10 in the night which they compensated with complimentary breakfast next day

Nice hotel with pleasant front desk staff. Close to shopping and the expo center. Will definitely stay here again.

Booked on Orbitz, they are right up said that extra beds were available upon request, when I requested one they said it would be an extra $20, when I told them they're right up did not mention that they made me prove it by walking down to the lobby and showing them their own write up. Then made me wait for almost an hour for a manager to come before they told me they would just give me the bed. when I brought it up at checkout they said they would waive the pet fee, then 12 hours later and 800 miles down the road they charged my card an extra $67.

I was pleasantly surprised to find the hotel was an excellent stay. Would recommend to travelers. Restaurant was equally as good as the stay.

Room was not cleaned well. Smell of mildew persistent. Coffee maker didn't work.

Not given the reserved king room but a twin bed room. My reservation was fully paid weeks before arrival. Rude receptionist was yelling and saying that because I arrived around midnight my room was given to someone else because the hotel policy is first come first serve!! Anyway, because of the bad attitude of the receptionist and the room has a bad smell, there is a dozen better hotel chains than Red Lion. I don't recommend it to anyone.

Our room overlooked the parking area and we asked for another facing the pool or river. The front desk told us no problem if we waited a day to move us cause 75% of the guests were leaving. Next day they said we could move for an extra $15/night. Housekeeping didn't come until late afternoon and didn't replenish supplies. We had to ask 3 times for bar soap. Of course on the day we were leaving they banged on our door just after 8sm and woke us up. The hot tub was full of kids every time we went - once with a baby with diapers on! This is an event/convention hotel and the "suites" were right across the hall from us so plenty of noise. The only good thing was the bed was comfortable once you pulled all the straight jacket sheeting apart...

This hotel is great in both price and location. The hotel is vast by the lake and is perfect for those who want to go to Seattle or up north the next day. I highly recommend this hotel for those who are okay with driving a bit away from the city, want a great price, and great amnesties.

Awesome place to stay when visiting Oregon. Right next to the border of Washington with breathtaking views. Good food at reasonable prices and everything is close by. Would highly recommend it to any family

Clean, updated, nice amenities, excellent service, good restaurant.
