2/10 Terrible

I stayed at Broadway Inn from December 31 to January 4, and while there were minor room issues, the real problem was the behavior of a particular female staff member who appears to live and work on the property.
Throughout my stay, this woman repeatedly stared at me in an intense, judgmental manner whenever I was visible, during check-in, when I entered or exited my room, when I had a guest briefly visit, and even when maintenance came to address a toilet issue. On one occasion, she stopped walking entirely and stared us down as we entered my room, which made both me and my guest extremely uncomfortable.
This was not subtle or accidental. It was prolonged, deliberate staring that felt intimidating and unwelcoming, as if we were being monitored or suspected of wrongdoing despite doing nothing wrong.
On the morning of checkout, she called my room at 10:35 a.m. to say, “It’s 10:35, you’re supposed to check out at 11,” then hung up abruptly without explanation. I was fully aware of the checkout time. The call felt unnecessary, aggressive, and like an attempt to rush me out rather than provide service.
I want to be clear that this behavior was not a one-time incident. I experienced the same treatment from this same woman during a previous stay in October. This establishes a pattern of conduct that should concern management and future guests.
Travelers, especially those from urban backgrounds or anyone sensitive to being unfairly scrutinized, should be aware that this is this.
