This hotel is run down! Not like the pictures! The coffee maker didn’t work, the WiFi was at one or two bars at best when working. For the price they are charging they can at least put new curtain rods instead of a makeshift PVC connector to connect a broken rod and it still droops and falls. We stayed in one of the Villas, there was no privacy as the curtains were also see through if you have lights on. The pool was nice and clean but not for children who cannot swim. The shallow end was almost 2meters/6 feet deep. For what’s around in the Playa Grande Tamarindo area this villa should not be even $100 a night. Other places for the same price are all updated with modern appliances and furniture, with washer and dryers included. The plus side is the staff is kind professional and they try to please you.
Gorgeous place! Great vacation. The place is easy to find because they are on main street. Location near the beach. Located in the center of the national park. Very clean. Beautiful pool. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.
Booked 2 bedroom villa. We were assuming our villa would be in a different location. We were in a villa located down the road from check in. It was ok though bc we were closer to the beach. Girl at reception desk spoke little to no English but she was very sweet. Our villa was nice and clean. The bathroom door fell off but was fixed without asking when cleaned the following day. Close to beach and nice(chilly) pool.
I think one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica...the surf is higher than Tamarindo and I understand the tried and true surfers surf there. On our visit the surf was I estimate 25-30' high as the surfers looked like little matchsticks. Never ending sand, no shade so bring an umbrella Just lots of sand and surf with very few people on the beach! Love it! There is a charming tiny little bar on the beach for refreshments..that is all there is!
We attended fiesta night at Playa Grande Resort in Cabos last night. the food was plentiful and good. well organized buffet which is due to the hard work of the employees. the entertainment was nothing short of excellent! from the dancers to the mariachi band. of special note was the MC, Roberto, who was humorous and kept it flowing with much laughter on our parts. Humberto, Activity Director, was likewise humorous and did a magnificent job. Gabriella and Ramon deserve to do some dancing on the stage for the patrons. they are top notch. the humour also was exhibited by the male from Brazil(I am sorry I did not remember your name)...If you are looking to be entertained and well fed, then don’t miss this occasion on Monday Nights
This is a tiny hotel with probably less than 15 rooms total. It is conveniently located a short walk away from Playa Grande, which is a major plus. The hotel is nicely decorated, and the staff is super kind. Breakfast is not included on the rate, but can be arranged upon request. The room was ok, although beds were really squeaky, and the water pressure on the shower was super low. The hotel pool is a nice treat, and on Saturday nights the hotel offers an à la carte BBQ. Pro-tip: Playa Grande offers a far quieter and more secluded experience than the neighboring Tamarindo, for those avoiding crowds. Plus the beach is way prettier IMO.
We only stayed 1 night as a stop over but I wished it was longer! The hotel has secure parking, staff are very friendly and the beach is on its doorstep. The room was spacious very clean and even had the little extras of toiletries and hairdryer etc. Just beautiful to sit on the balcony first thing watching the waves coming in, so relaxing. Great value and highly recommended
The owners/staff are incredible! Very understanding and accommodating. The rooms were nice and the grounds were lovely. Breakfast was ideal! We had some misunderstanding with location but the staff didn’t hesitate to help. This review is pretty much for them, thank you!
I stood for 3 nights at room nr 8. I really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the hotel and its proximity to the beach (2min walking). I cant think of anything negative to say about this hotel, only that if you are looking for night life it might not be your place. The restaurant serves excellent grilled food. Try the hamburger!
We had a comfortable two night stay here. It was an easy drive from Liberia where we rented a car and had enough parking at the hotel. The room had a queen and a single bed. Friendly staff. Bathroom was good and included shampoo and soap in the shower. If you wanted to watch tv their were several US channels in English with Spanish subtitles. Breakfast was included with two options 1) traditional Costa Rican with eggs, beans, rice and toast or 2) pancakes and fruit. Both were good to us. Their is a nice pool In the courtyard to cool off in or it is a short five minute walk to the beach. The hotel bar and restaurant are cozy and nice. We enjoyed the mixed grill one night with a nice environment. Incredibly friendly staff and would recommend anyone to visit or stay here while in Playa Grande or the area.
