There was mold in the bathroom.
Room is clean but smelled like pee. No ample parking space. Hotel does not have a visible sign so it is hard to find.esp.at night. You get what you paid for
Right near beach and port with lots of places to eat and drink
This hotel is a great choice for the budget traveler. It is just steps away from the upscale outdoor mall at the end of Avenida 5 (the main tourist street in Playa del Carmen). I did not time it, but would estimate it is maybe a 7 or 8 minute walk to the nearest beach. The rooms are fairly basic, but spacious and clean and they provide nicer than expected free toiletry items in the bathroom. The A/C works great and the TV has a wide selection of channels. The included breakfast (coffee, juices, fruits, yogurt (you have to ask for it), scrambled eggs, refried beans, small breads and make-it-yourself toast) is definitely a nice plus and the lady who runs the breakfast room is very friendly and helpful. The man who generally staffs the office speaks excellent English and is super friendly and helpful, but there is a lady who is sometimes there in the afternoon who is not as fluent in English, so if you speak some Spanish it would be helpful. There is an airport for private planes (propeller-only, I believe) very nearby and I saw others complaining about the noise, but we never heard it in our rooms. In any case, the airport seemed to have very little traffic. Overall, I would rate the service there as excellent and I would definitely stay there again.
