Overall nice place to stay for 3 nights. The staff was friendly although the bistro staff was unnecessarily slow. We had a two double bed room. Nothing special just the typical two beds with a night stand in between. There was better than average room for 3 adults though. Would have been nice to have a balcony. Other improvements would be more counter space in the bathroom and better lighting. My wife said it was terrible for applying her makeup.
Great location in Shadyside. Bummer about the extra cost of valet only parking, though. Would have been nice to have this displayed to give you an actual cost of the room to compare. I even looked on Orbitz specifically for this to make sure it didn’t say “Valet only parking”....perhaps I missed it.
We came for a college visit. Great location and the shuttle service to nearby restaurants or sights is a great plus. The staff was excellent and the rooms and common areas very clean. Our hotel room had a great view and was very quiet. Hope to stay there again the next time we're in Pittsburgh.
Wasn't happy with room condition as we walk in.had to call in room service at 3 am.
I had an excellent experience. The staff was great, especially David the valet parking attendant. I would recommend it to friends and family.
Courteous staff and very neat and close to UPMC
Disappointed with lighting over sink; it was difficult to apply makeup and style my hair. Overall good experience and friendly staff.
Nice hotel in Shadyside - convenient to all. Very courteous staff. Not many amenities included - breakfast, parking, etc all extra (and pricey). Very nice room, but the frig froze everything we put into it. The staff nicely replaced it but with a very noisy one that rattled all night long. Only real issue - otherwise pretty positive, would certainly recommend.
This hotel is def. not worth the price!!! Parking is S20 a night. Amenities were limited. Outside view from inside room was terrible. I can say the room was very clean but for the price paid was expecting a little more from experience. Wouldn't recommend staying here.
Like other Courtywards, it has free wifi and has a restaurant on the first floor. A very reasonable and clean place.
Excellent amenities. Very friendly staff. Starbucks coffee next door. Very convenient. The only negative is that it is a tad expensive.
Great location close to many retaurants and especially tha Church Brewing Company. Have to pay for valet parking but employees are very nice.
Close to many things like restaurants and site seeing. We stayed there because it is close to the Church Brewing Company. Nice Hotel but you do have to pay for valet parking. Staff was super nice.
Enjoyed this hotel - great location, and nice to have the pool and fitness center. Could be more courteous with transit.
Great hotel if you're looking to stay in the east end of Pittsburgh / Shadyside area. Rooms are great, staff is helpful, and they have a nice gym / pool. Conveniently walkable to restaurants and shopping on ellsworth or walnut st. only gripe is the "valet only" parking - you have to drive everywhere in Pittsburgh, and it would be nice to be able to just grab your car from the lot.
I was disappointed because I had to pay so much to stay at this particular hotel. It is the location that allows them to charge so much for an ordinary hotel. There are no other nice hotels in that particular area of Pittsburgh. the good things were that the staff was very nice and the dinner i ate there was actually delicious at a very good price in their restaurant which they should publicize more. Money is difficult to come by these days and that is why it was disturbing to have to pay so much.
Acceptable and comfortable. All areas were clean. Clod=se to the medical campus.
I've alwyas Marriott, because everthing in hotel and room is updated and modern. 5 star, fyi - you pay what you get! and Marriott you give you more than what you need!
I was in Pittsburgh for business, and the Courtyard by Marriott in Shadyside perfectly fit my needs. It's within walking distance of a diner (yummy 24 hour breakfast), a Boston Market (for cheaper eats) and a fancy delicious restaurant (Toast!, for a treat). With a Starbucks right in the hotel, all my eating needs were met. The hotel itself was clean and quiet, and I was very happy with my stay.
Location was good for walking into shadyside...the valet parking was a total pain! Every time you even wanted to go to your car you needed to go to the valet! Didn't care for the very thin, rough towels, lack of bath products (no body cream) and no free breakfast! For the price--not alot of value!
