After having arrived from the bustling city of Bangkok it was refreshing arriving at the Novotel tucked neatly between the mountain range behind the hotel and the beautiful Karon beach across the road which is around 3km in length. If you walk the entire stretch of the beach you end up at the beautiful Marina hotel and “On the Rocks” restaurant which offers amazing views of the entire bay. Back at the Novotel the open aired reception area was a nice quirky feature that offered travellers a sneaky peak into the tranquil pool area that had 2 pool bars and many cabanas, wooden sun loungers and in pool loungers available. At reception the staff were all very friendly and attentive and offered us a welcome drink whilst allocating our room and once done we were shown to our room. A spacious modern room on the second floor. Perfect. As we explored the hotel we noticed the resort also catered very much for children with their own pool area and slide as well as a fully equipped children’s club nearby. We didn’t witness any entertainment other than water aerobics that happened in the morning and there wasn’t anything in the evenings, however the sports bar was a perfect place to chill out and have a few drinks whilst being able to play a little pool and watch some of the games on TV. The night life is best reserved for the clubs which we expect would be around Patong beach, probably about a 10 minute taxi ride away. If you do want to head down to Patong beach during the day there is a complimentary shuttle bus from the hotel that leaves 4 times a day, but you need to book early as the places can get filled up quickly. The Novotel looks initially as though there isn’t much around but as you come out of the hotel, cross the road and turn left about a 10 to 15 minute slow walk will lead you to the local town full of places to eat, shops and 100s of Massages parlours offering very good value massages. We preferred to use the hotel spa for our massages as they offered very good value and lots of variety in a relaxing and serene environment. The therapists were all very good and we had a massage every day. I always went for the Balinese but my husband had a combination of traditional Thai massage, sports massage and Balinese and loved them all. On one occasion I was offered a heat therapy treatment for my lower back as I’d gotten a bad spasm earlier that day and they fixed me up perfectly. All the staff at the hotel are wonderful and work extremely hard. They are always very friendly and happy and couldn’t do enough to ensure your comforts and needs are met. Half way through our stay we reported a leak in our bathroom and immediately they sent the engineers to rectify it whilst we went to the beach for the day. As soon as we returned, the concierge approached us to tell us the room would need further work and they would like us to change rooms. As a gesture of goodwill they upgraded us to suite 1301 which was wonderfully spacious, they gave us a complimentary basket of fruit and a complimentary dinner at any one of their restaurants for any evening. We were certainly very happy with our 7 days stay at this hotel and can’t thank the staff enough for making this place what it is.

I have to start by saying that there is nothing wrong with this hotel - it's clean, good value and all staff were very friendly. I'll start with the good points: - The Suite is huge, modern and luxurious - The main pool setting is beautiful - Location is decent - 5 minutes walk to the beach, 10 minutes to town along a very pleasant, tree-lined walkway. - Facilities for kids were great - high chairs, kids meals, toys, games etc. What we didn't enjoy: - This place felt a bit like a concrete jungle with no real soul or atmosphere - Breakfast restaurant felt a bit like a cafeteria - Almost all clientele (us included) had small children. Kids ruled the roost here and even with a small child myself I found this overwhelming. If you want a reasonanly priced place where you can relax by the pool with a cocktail while the kids run around, this is your place. If you want to feel like you're in Thailand and would like some peace and quiet, I'd suggest skipping Karon all together and heading to Kata down the road or better yet, Khao Lak, for a much more chilled vibe.

The hotel was overbooked. We waited for 45mins at the priority check in counter and being platinum member of Accor Group, this is the first. Hotel lobby is just too small for the arrival groups. Not mentioning the fact that due to brand loyalty, we brought along the entire family of at least another 5 rooms. Yet the check-in for everyone took ages. Rooms were not ready by 3pm although for my family members, they were brought to a waiting area with free drinks offered. We had to queue for breakfast - also a first. Hotel was obviously under booked or either that, It was under staffed. Although, on the 2nd day onwards, the staff specially allocated seats at the Thai restaurants downstairs for our group of 20 for breakfast. We had dinner most nights at the hotel. When we wanted to head out, we approached the hotel staff for tuk tuks, they just plainly told me to flag one off the road. The traffic control guy was very nice to direct me to the tuk tuk guy sitting outside the hotel who then arranged the tuk tuks for us. We booked this hotel for the pools so the kids can play and swim, which they did. Will we return? A definite no.

We had a wonderful stay at the Novotel. The staff were friendly and could not do enough for us. The resort was lovely and clean. The buffer breakfast was amazing with such a wide variety of food. We had a four course breakfast. The reception team were so friendly and I went to free yoga once and free aqua aerobics nearly every day. The Recreation Officer made it fun and Iwe thoroughly enjoyed the sessions. My daughter had a plunge pool outside her apartment which was great fun. Whilst there it was the Thai new year and the Novotel organised a Tuk Tuk water fight which drove through the streets of Karon Beach and Kata. My son and I both had water pistols and the hotel supplied a large plastic container of water which was refilled twice. It was such fun and we felt like children again. Everyone celebrates by throwing water. It,was, such an experience to see how the Thai people celebrate and take part in the fun. Thanks to the resort for organising such a fun outing. Would definitely recommend the Novotel to everyone. .

Do yourself a favour and stay here! Awesome family friendly hotel and staff are very helpful. Get to know Peach, he is the activity manager and he is a funny man. Food is great at all the restaurants and the cocktails always cold! Great work Novotel!!!

We're staying at the Novatel Karon Beach. It's a great family holiday destination. There are 3 pools onsite, plenty of poolside seating and cabanas and one pool is for kids, with a fountain and great slide. The beach is right across the road and a lovely fellow stops the traffic to help you cross. There are some great cheap restaurants along the beach front and the beach itself is quiet and beautiful. Hotel staff are so helpful and friendly and are making our stay really enjoyable. The buffet breakfast, (which was included in our booking) has enough food to feed an army! There is everything from sushi to roasts, or a full bacon, eggs (any way) vegies and toast option or there are pastries, cereal, yoghurt and 6 or more varieties of juice. You pick what and as much as you like. Rooms are a good size, with a balcony or plunge pool, depending on the type of room you book. Its a 10 minute flat walk to town, which was fine for us, but if you don't like to walk at all, choose another hotel.

We just got back from Phuket and had a blast. We spent five days at the Novotel and had an absolute amazing time. This is an Outstanding hotel - both in property, but more so with the staff. Every person that works at the Novotel Karon is awesome. Friendly, attentive, kind and hard-working. I see where they get it from. I met the manager JP, and I was very impressed with his leadership. I could go on and on about this hotel. It rocked. Book it.

It was an exceptional experience. We will be loyal Accor/Novotel guests from now on. Everything about our stay was wonderful, the staff, food, cleanliness, and our room was absolutely amazing. We will be back.

Very Nice Hotel, Stay here only for a night, room was nice big and clean HK service is should improve, ask to change water boiler in the room and had to ring reception 3 times before sending new one wait almost 45 minutes, breakfast was okay, we went down around 10.00 am and there are no tables available guest have to wait in queue, but luckily we only waited few minutes, service in the restaurant was good for some staff specially ROD & Mook, Rod was very helpful and polite, mook is very welcoming. but some staff did't bother asking if we need baby chair for my 13 months old son, ending up looking for it myself and found 5 baby chairs in the corner. Pool was very nice they have 3 pool but we stayed in pool near kids club for my baby, if you dont want miss having sun bed better be there early. all in all this hotel is very nice Good place for family with adult or young childrn, all in all everything was Good sad we only stay here for a night. and also if you travelling with your own car you cannot see parking area near by but they have valet personnel who can take car of your car.

Brilliant location.opposite the beach. Great food and drinks Not to pricey. Great spa deals. Staff very friendly and helpful especially peach. Advised on the best places to see in phuket. Cant wait to go back :)
