We were given 1 towel for two people so my partner went to ask for more towels to be told “we don’t have any clean ones but you can have these” “These” were dirty and used. It was disgusting and completely grossed me. The bathroom was newly refurbished and the room large. But it was dirty and the bed really uncomfortable. Customer service left ALOT to be desired. I wish I’d paid more and gone to one of the others.
Do not stay there! Soooo dirty and horrible!!!! We stayed there because we were very tired of driving and all other motels and hotels around were fully booked or extremely expensive.Even a few hours there were a nightmare.I think that the sheets were not changed at all and the towels were disgusting!!! I hope we didn't catch any disease.
Please if you have any thought of staying here DO NOT! Had to give it 1 star to write a review or it would get none, Very seedy staff and area. Rooms are disgusting . Dirty bedding and towels, mold, flys, broken TV, torn lamp shades, lights with missing bulbs, NO SMOKE alarms etc etc The BATES MOTEL in phoenix!
Keep n mind the pics you see on the sites are submitted by owners. You should only trust the pics of people who have stayed at properties as they tell the truthful story.. Total DIVE, BAD Area, Dark, SKETCHY property. Feared for security. Was given key to room already occupied and room was a TOTAL DISASTER. Cannot even describe how opening the door to that room was. Room filthy and in total disarray with garbage, etc. spewn about. Went back to report and they were not apologetic about it, said they would move me for another extra deposit to a room that was an upgrade with a small flatscreen TV. (Remote handed out at front desk BTW.) Upgraded room had one worn sheet under thin coverlet, mattress had plastic cover on it with a thin sheet on top of that... noisy when moving on the bed. no blankets and cold. Drapes had holes in them. Towels were pathetically thin. Garbage can in bathroom dirtiest I have ever seen. Expect to see in garbage bin.. not in a room. Chair was very dirty. Lamp shades needed replaced and a top to hold it on. Furniture was quite worn. TV got 1 infomercial station. That's it! Bed frame was bolted to wall with many holes around it. No hangers for clothes. It WAS very late when I arrived and needed to be up very early 7am and out for an appt. so just rolled with it rather than having to find another hotel that late at night 11:30pm.. BUT, there was another guy that arrived same time and ended up going somewhere else. Hotel would not refund his stay and his experience was the same, so I didn't want to have to pay double for 1 night hotel. Will tell everyone I know and post everywhere I can at how bad this was. Looks cute and modest on website pics... BUYER BEWARE! Spend the extra for a way better hotel... even Motel 6/8 would be better bargain and be cleaner, etc. than what this turned out to be. Very noisy and sketchy people hanging around (Druggies, Prostitures, Johns). Seriously was afraid for damage to the rental car and if I would make it through the night without some kind of incident outside. Not to mention all the strip joints around this area. Anyone giving this property a good review, I would seriously be very wary of...
On 2-25, I was in need of a last minute reservation in Phoenix when traveling there from Denver. Checking numerous web sites, I found that virtually all of the hotels in the downtown/airport area were booked, except for this hotel. I made the on-line reservation for $99 a night. I arrived there and found that the registration office ABSOLUTELY REEKED OF CAT URINE! The check in process was smooth and fast. I found my room to be spartan, at best. It was awful. Some effort had been made to improve the room (floor tile, paint, etc.) but as a home remodeler myself, the work was awful. Mortar and paint were in numerous places that quality installers would not do. There was a new TV installed on the wall but no remote to make it work and wires hanging all over the wall, which led to a crude hole punched in the wall to bring the cable in. In the bathroom, there were NO TOWELS OF ANY KIND. The manager brought some when I called, but the ones he brought were literally like tissue paper they were so thin. The bed was comfortable and clean. It was dark when I arrived. When I left, it was daylight and I could see my surroundings. They were abysmal. Dirty linen just left in piles, a parking lot that was broken up, debris or garbage in a few places, etc. At check-out, the office still smelled of extreme levels of cat urine. The hotel is in a seedy area and some of the other customers I saw made me concerned for my safety and that of my car. I would not have stayed here had i know this at booking and encourage you to avoid this property at all costs. I would have been better sleeping in my car.
We had lost our credit card on our way to Phoenix and had to pay cash for a motel for one night while a new card was sent overnight. This place was creepy. The front office area had a cat in it and wreaked of litter box. The folks in the office were very nice, but the lady was a bit strange. We were given room 106. She followed us to our room to make sure there was a remote control. As we entered the room, she pointed out that there was a camera pointed directly at our door and that we were safe. She said hundreds of people had stayed there and nothing happened to them and that a girl would be working that night to watch our room. She noticed that the coffee maker was dirty. Good catch! She took it away and cleaned it for us, but when she came back in the room she walked over to the AC and changed the temperature. She said the owners liked to keep the thermostat at a certain temperature. The room was gross. There was hair in the sink, the toilet was dirty and the bathtub was too. The chair in the room had stains. The bed was a little worn but comfortable. The next morning we saw a roach climb into the back of the tv and we were out of there!!! If you're faced with sleeping in the streets or here, I'd stay here, but only under these circumstances.
I needed a place to crash near the airport for the night I made a 3rd party reservation via price line where reviews were full gamut. My process is typical discard the highs and lows which in this case was just about right For price paid a fair bargain as the staff (a daughter and father ) were pleasant kind and attentive to requests and in my world that counts for a great deal
I'm very surprised a reputable company such as travelocity.com advertised for this hotel. The location has plenty of pimps, prostitutes and drug addicts. I'm sure this area is considered the bad part of town so not much you could do to improve this hotel other than burn it down & rebuild it plus the entire surrounding neighborhood. Things to do nearby: purchase drugs, buy a strung out prostitute, possibly get robbed. The street this hotel is located on (Van Buren) is close to the airport but is in a very stechy part of town which has plenty of "what appears to be" drug addicts, homeless people, prostitutes and pimps walking up and down the street. I drove past the hotel twice because the big sign with the hotel's name is no longer there, just the empty frame it use to be on. There were a a lot of little kids running around playing in the parking lot, almost like their family might have fell on hard times and be living in one of the rooms. The room was disgusting, everything was dirty from the floor, bed, bathroom, toilet paper, soap, etc. I have stayed at some "not so great" hotels before where I would say "at least staying in the hotel is better than sleeping in your car" but I would have to say I would rather sleep in my car and use the restroom at the gas station than touch anything in this hotel room. I know the rooms are super cheap but spend the extra $15-20 and go somewhere else.
Wrong place all the time. Straight thieves the management is. They refused to give me back my $50 deposit because I forgot I had it in the office upon check-out. I suffer traumatic brain injuries that cause me to forget things. I remembered 2 weeks later and inquired about it and got loud and verbally abusive over the phone and threatened me he would call the police because I want my rightful money back. The management are thieves and please pass this along so no one else gets screwed by an unethical motel ran by a thief and bad mannered personal.
There was absolutely no damage to the already damaged room we stayed in. Called and he blamed the extra money taken from my card on the bank. This was a place to sleep, but didn't expect to have them take an extra $20.00 from an already cheap room.
