Worst experience ever!! No kidding, this is a real dump. I couldn't wait to get out of there. I was visiting Phoenix for the weekend. My flight was arriving close to midnight. That's why I looked for hotels near the airport and thought this was a food choice. I was SO wrong! 1. They claim to collect security deposit when you check in. This is not new as most hotels "hold" an amount for incidentals, if any. This place does not do that. They charge your card as a regular charge and NOT a hold. In the fine print, it is written that the security deposit is refundable IF you leave the room in the same condition as when you checked in. What do they think I'm going to do to the room? Also, when they "refund" your security deposit the next morning, it will take 2 or 3 days to get the money back on the card as it was a charge and NOT a hold. 2. My room did not lock from inside. When I called the front desk receptionist (Crystal), she asked what's the big deal. No one can enter the room without the key and only she has the key. Was that supposed to make me feel better that my door does not lock? I asked her to call maintenance and she said that this is not her problem. 3. TV did not have a remote. 4. No microwave, fridge, coffee machine, phone in the room 5. My bed cover had cigarette burn marks all over it. 6. My room was stinking of smoke smell although it was a non smoking room. 7. The towels were dirty. Looked like blood on one of them. 8. They do not even have a business card. How is this even a legitimate establishment? I was so scared that the beds had bed bugs or worms are going to crawl out of the shower.
Staff unfriendly and by the room I can understand why. The key didn't work so it needed to be unlocked for us. Door had holes in it and trim was non existent. TV was vandalized, light didn't work so we entered a card smoky smelling hole. There were holes in the bed covers and broken drawers in dresser,. Afraid to sit and sleep. Took a 25 dollar deposit for damage. How to damage a room more than it was we would have to be drunk or high. Which is a scary thought listening to the neighbors. Really bad experience. We asked for a non smoking room which if this was it lots of people break the rules.
This hotel is sort of unlivable in some parts of it. I saw that they said they had updated some rooms and the pictures looked nice. Well......first the lady (very unfriendly) tried to put me in a room that I would not even let my dog stay in. I told her I would not stay there. That's when she took me to "One of their nicer rooms". It was nicer, but that's not saying to much.It was kinda remodeled.....with salvaged items! Lets not even get into the tv, where I had to point the remote to the floor. Lol The young man who works there is nice and helpful, that's probably the best part except for the fact I stayed there 2 nights and nothing happened, Saturday night questionable.
Do yourself a favor and DO NOT STAY HERE! I arrived late last night and the property can care less about me. I had to go back to the front desk and ask for a do not disturb sign that they don't even have. I mainly needed a remote control for the TV and they gave me two of them and come to find out there is no cable as advertised. TV works and no channels. Now starting at 8:30 am they are drilling and making noise. I will be trying to get a refund. Place could be really decent if they just used some common sense in how people should be treated. I will also add , after talking to the front desk lady about the issues she could care less. I called hotels.com to place a complaint and she LIED to them. She told them room 139 doesn't even exists and there is no construction going on. So now we are making things up lol I have better things to do with my time lady - maybe you should see some of my other reviews. I will rarely give a hotel less than 4 stars. But yours is horrible!!
I stayed here for one night because I was having trouble finding a hotel for an affordable rate. The key card would not work, so the desk clerk had to come open my door. The room was old and in need of paint and repair. Wires were exposed. The bed was not comfortable. I was not offered a remote for the box TV, but I was tired and just wanted sleep. The WI-FI worked well and the water for shower was hot (although it took awhile for it to get hot). When I checked in at approximately 8:00 pm, the desk clerk was somewhat nice to be considering the customers that he dealt with previously. However, when I check out the following morning, the desk clerk was RUDE. She could not take her eyes off of her phone to help me with check out. She finally went to check my room to see if I would get a refund. I was asked to sit or stand outside the office while she checked my room. She stood and "messed" with another employee despite the fact that I was waiting to check out to go on with my day. She checked my room, was nicer to me, and processed my $25.00 refund. (I look forward to seeing how long it will take to get back into my account). This hotel is in a part of town that is not the best. There are drug dealers and hookers around at night, but nothing that directly affected me.
We were given 1 towel for two people so my partner went to ask for more towels to be told “we don’t have any clean ones but you can have these” “These” were dirty and used. It was disgusting and completely grossed me. The bathroom was newly refurbished and the room large. But it was dirty and the bed really uncomfortable. Customer service left ALOT to be desired. I wish I’d paid more and gone to one of the others.
Do not stay there! Soooo dirty and horrible!!!! We stayed there because we were very tired of driving and all other motels and hotels around were fully booked or extremely expensive.Even a few hours there were a nightmare.I think that the sheets were not changed at all and the towels were disgusting!!! I hope we didn't catch any disease.
Please if you have any thought of staying here DO NOT! Had to give it 1 star to write a review or it would get none, Very seedy staff and area. Rooms are disgusting . Dirty bedding and towels, mold, flys, broken TV, torn lamp shades, lights with missing bulbs, NO SMOKE alarms etc etc The BATES MOTEL in phoenix!
Keep n mind the pics you see on the sites are submitted by owners. You should only trust the pics of people who have stayed at properties as they tell the truthful story.. Total DIVE, BAD Area, Dark, SKETCHY property. Feared for security. Was given key to room already occupied and room was a TOTAL DISASTER. Cannot even describe how opening the door to that room was. Room filthy and in total disarray with garbage, etc. spewn about. Went back to report and they were not apologetic about it, said they would move me for another extra deposit to a room that was an upgrade with a small flatscreen TV. (Remote handed out at front desk BTW.) Upgraded room had one worn sheet under thin coverlet, mattress had plastic cover on it with a thin sheet on top of that... noisy when moving on the bed. no blankets and cold. Drapes had holes in them. Towels were pathetically thin. Garbage can in bathroom dirtiest I have ever seen. Expect to see in garbage bin.. not in a room. Chair was very dirty. Lamp shades needed replaced and a top to hold it on. Furniture was quite worn. TV got 1 infomercial station. That's it! Bed frame was bolted to wall with many holes around it. No hangers for clothes. It WAS very late when I arrived and needed to be up very early 7am and out for an appt. so just rolled with it rather than having to find another hotel that late at night 11:30pm.. BUT, there was another guy that arrived same time and ended up going somewhere else. Hotel would not refund his stay and his experience was the same, so I didn't want to have to pay double for 1 night hotel. Will tell everyone I know and post everywhere I can at how bad this was. Looks cute and modest on website pics... BUYER BEWARE! Spend the extra for a way better hotel... even Motel 6/8 would be better bargain and be cleaner, etc. than what this turned out to be. Very noisy and sketchy people hanging around (Druggies, Prostitures, Johns). Seriously was afraid for damage to the rental car and if I would make it through the night without some kind of incident outside. Not to mention all the strip joints around this area. Anyone giving this property a good review, I would seriously be very wary of...
On 2-25, I was in need of a last minute reservation in Phoenix when traveling there from Denver. Checking numerous web sites, I found that virtually all of the hotels in the downtown/airport area were booked, except for this hotel. I made the on-line reservation for $99 a night. I arrived there and found that the registration office ABSOLUTELY REEKED OF CAT URINE! The check in process was smooth and fast. I found my room to be spartan, at best. It was awful. Some effort had been made to improve the room (floor tile, paint, etc.) but as a home remodeler myself, the work was awful. Mortar and paint were in numerous places that quality installers would not do. There was a new TV installed on the wall but no remote to make it work and wires hanging all over the wall, which led to a crude hole punched in the wall to bring the cable in. In the bathroom, there were NO TOWELS OF ANY KIND. The manager brought some when I called, but the ones he brought were literally like tissue paper they were so thin. The bed was comfortable and clean. It was dark when I arrived. When I left, it was daylight and I could see my surroundings. They were abysmal. Dirty linen just left in piles, a parking lot that was broken up, debris or garbage in a few places, etc. At check-out, the office still smelled of extreme levels of cat urine. The hotel is in a seedy area and some of the other customers I saw made me concerned for my safety and that of my car. I would not have stayed here had i know this at booking and encourage you to avoid this property at all costs. I would have been better sleeping in my car.
