Rodeway Inn Downtown Phoenix

I stayed in this hotel for six nights and the staff were very kind to me.

We were a little nervous about the downtown location at first. It is a transitional neighborhood, but that's a good thing: Lots of upscale renovation and improvement going on, some great hip little neighborhood restaurants within easy walking and driving distance, and actually pretty quiet (relatively speaking). Yes, there were a few homeless wandering the streets, but very few. The rooms were very clean and cared for, but nothing fancy--it is Rodeway Inn, after all -- and breakfast, while not sumptuous, was surprisingly varied laid out in the tiny lobby. I would consider staying there again, especially once the live theater opens up across the street!

While this hotel is on the outskirts of downtown Phoenix and definitely could use some updating, its clean, had a comfortable bed, and was managed by a very friendly, accommodating couple. I was attending a conference at another hotel and this was a bargain choice where I was able to get a good night's sleep.

Great price for location, clean room, nice people, neighborhood a little sketchy.

I had to stay in town a few days for a conference. This hotel was in perfect walking distance to all the major downtown buildings. It was no-frills, but a great value for the cost. I'd definitely stay there again.

I have stayed the first time in this hotel. It is very near to downtown. Cleanness is not so bad but big bed is comfortable. .

This hotel is in a quiet neighborhood which is good for rest. It's also pretty close to airport and easy to get to freeway. The room is very comfortable and clean with a big patio on second floor. Overall I enjoyed my stay at this hotel!

Cheap motel in a sketch location. We weren't in the room very much so it was ok. Wouldn't suggest for single ladies.

I needed a hotel room in the Phoenix downtown area and booked at this property. I was in town for a concert that was just two blocks away. I was concerned on how the quality was going to be due to the location but it turned out great. I was NOT disturbed while getting my sleep. Geared more for adults, nothing for the kiddos to do, no pool.

Go deal for immediate downtown Phoenix location. I was there for a concert at the Comercia Theatre and was within walking distance.Friendly staff and good value. Not in the best neighborhood but I was never disturbed.

Great value for the money. Entire lobby smelled of curry - which I imagine some love and some would hate. Super clean. Beds were not as bad as the super cheap hotels - a little flatter/springier than I like - but clean and I got a decent night's sleep. A/C and TV was excellent, and you can darken the room to sleep during the day. Small shower, but very clean with the standard (rougher) overly-bleached white towels.

close to downtown phoenix, best location for staying if you just want to get a decent night. Rooms are clean and quiet. They offer free wifi also.

Wanted a bed with a shower. That's what we got. Not the best part of town, but close to where we wanted to be. The owners were really nice, but the waiting room did smell like curry... I kind of liked it. "Continental breakfast" was coffee with powder creamer, SunnyD and granola bars with yogurt, but it worked.

I was in town for three nights for work. The manager that checked me in was very professional and efficient in getting me checked in. The room was clean. The mattress was a little old but still comfortable. My only gripe was that the TV is a low resolution CRT and in the grand scheme of things not a big deal. The combination of location for work and low price makes this hotel a winner.

I booked in here based on ratings and am happy I did. This is the absolute best value in downtown Phoenix. The rooms are extremely clean, bathrooms sparkle and staff is friendly and helpful. I was surprised to find out that the last renovation on the rooms was 8 years ago--they are spotless and very well maintained. Basic continental breakfast of juice, coffee, rolls, yogurt etc. but for the rate everything was just right. No frills, pool etc but I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, safe place in downtown Phoenix.

Quiet room, good continental breakfast, clean room, close to downtown.

I was in Phoenix to attend a convention. The convention housing was sold out. This place is walking distance from the convention center. The staff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend!

Nothing can beat the price of this place for this area. The room was quite clean and the entire motel is better off than one might expect of an establishment of this type. The TV, wi-fi, coffee-maker and more - all worked. It was not noisy. There were plenty of spaces to park, which we have used. And this place is blocks away from downtown Phoenix attractions, close to the light rail, which gets you to a lot of places in the greater Phoenix area.

It was good, First time someone checked room before checking out

My stay was great. The staff was friendly, efficient, and helpful with where to go for food. My room was sparsely furnished/decorated, but very clean and generally quiet. There weren't many amenities other than a slight breakfast with decent coffee, but I didn't expect any for this price. The hotel is a short 3-block walk from the Central Station transit center, so it's very easy to take the light rail to and from the airport - skip the cab and save $25 each way!
