Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Tempe

This hotel is in great need of a renovation. Everything is old, outdated. We found insects in our restroom. At least the sheets were clean. Very disappointing and not what I expected from a Wyndham chain hotel.

drag racing all night long on the street outside the hotel. Could hear dog barking in room next door. A hotel that allows pets should have thick walls.

The hotel's staff may not be treated very well. The night desk clerk was rude when we checked in. Later, she was visibly put out for interrupting her eating dinner at the front desk when we asked for linens for the fold out bed and more towels than the two which were in the room reserved for two adults and two children. She was also barefoot. The overnight desk clerk was frustrated that the day clerk was an hour late arriving and hadn't contacted anyone. The hotel wasn't being cleaned very well. The trash in the hall outside our room was there for all four nights of our stay. The hotel also isn't investing in maintenance. The need for minor repairs was visible throughout the hotel. Available breakfast food was also a disappointment. The first morning, only white bread was available. Whole wheat bread was also available the other mornings. The third morning, the scrambled eggs appeared to have a cup or more of water in with the eggs.

Close to grand kids. Easy freeway access. Clean and comfortable room.

The Hawthorn Suites in Tempe, AZ was conveniently located to several points of interest, and close to some major highways. With the friendly staff and the comfort room, that made my visit to Arizona completely enjoyable.

Had a very short stay at this hotel. Was greeted cordially at the front desk and check in was a non event. Upon exiting the elevator on our floor, we noticed a not so pleasant smell about the place. Upon entering the room, the smell was even stronger. It was like air freshener over old carpeting. The room was fairly large with one king bed. The carpet was old, really old. The bathroom was ok in size. The shower head needed replacement as it just trickled water. Basically, the room needed renovation. The property is located just off a busy freeway and it was loud. Rooms that end in 21-29 are right on the freeway, avoid them. There is good potential for this property after a good renovation.

1st room smelled strongly of smoke. 2nd room smelled strongly of cleaning supplies. 3rd room smelled mildly of cleaning supplies. Bed was lumpy. Couch was broken. Bathroom was small and smelled moldy. It was very early in the morning. Switched hotel the next day.

Our stay was ok, friendly staffand the room was ok.

The hotel was fine but the noise from the highway was incredible.

Budget hotel. Staff was nice but rooms are in need of renovation.

LOVED room #106! It was clean and the beds were so comfortable! Perfect room for four!!

Hotel was clean and comfortable and I would recommend it to anyone that is staying near ASU

We like the kitchen with 2 electric burner stove, little fridge, little living room with a sofa with 2nd TV, with USB charger and complete continental breakfast.

Daytime staff didn't even give eye contact, let alone a welcome. There were 3 at the desk and no one was helping another person and chose to ignore us. Towels and linens were worn. I woke up with back ache. :(

My stay was wonderful....ammenities were great except that the breakfast bacon was swimming in bacon grease. I will definitely stay there again.

Could have been better, but met my needs. Probably wouldn't stay here again.

Close to the freeway and many of the MLB parks in the area! Staff was very helpful with local recommendations.

Slept like a rock. In Phoenix in July, ac worked great.

It was decent. We were not a fan of the small pool located at the entrance of the hotel.

This hotel is a great location. Even though it is right next to the freeway, you can't hear it.
