Last weekend I had the opportunity to visit Phnom Penh for the first time. It was an enchanting and beautiful visit as well as a serious side visiting the Genocide Museum in Phnom Penh and a Killing Field just outside the city. The people were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed visiting various markets, historical sites and temples. Also, the night food stalls by the large city park was delicious and so cheap. $8 to feed two us, including drinks. The main reason I'm writing this review is to praise the Palace Gate Hotel. It has only been open 3 months but is already a first class operation. The facilities are fantastic including large very well appointed rooms, a very good restaurant and a fantastic pool. Also, the staff is extremely well trained and very helpful. I need to mention 2 young men on the front desk who were exceptional and their names are Borey and Bunny.. Thank you guys for making various arrangements.
The hotel was is in every way a good for a business trip. It is a bit dated, but the hotel was clean, staff was friendly and the room was spacious. Shower was a bit complicated to use with several gadgets.
Stayed here second times in my travel to Asia, hotel iffers a great choice of room and facilities with great customer service. The location is best, easy to get in and out to the city especially when you only have a short time. Breakfast is great with local ans international option
Tired feeling hotel in need of a face lift after some years. On a positive note hotel has two Chinese restaurants, one Japanese restaurant, a nightclub and all day dining. Decent mid range hotel. Two big ballrooms for functions etc.
Stayed in this Hotel for a Business Trip. Good ambiance, easy access to main places, Clean and Tidy, Customer friendly, good service, daily room makeup and Decent Breakfast. I took service apartment type room as my stay was like for 3 months. Best part I liked for choosing this is, the hotel provide complementary tea/snacks from 3:00 pm and unlimited beer and wine ;) from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. This is the first hotel where I see this compliment. Also 60 pieces complimentary laundry per month. Inshort, one will not regret for stay here, worth the penny spent.
It's a very nice hotel not far from the airport. Rooms were small but clean, and breakfasts were really nice. Staffs were friendly, helped us with suitcases and handled requests effectively. Decorations and resorts were a bit out of date, but the hotel is of high standard and we had a very comfortable stay.
Poor service on arrival. $100 charge taken without asking. Rooms were smelling of stale cigarettes, however we were offered alternative non smoking rooms. These were still dated with the shower looking like a 80's fad which did not function properly. Lightning was poor and view was overlooking a car park with early morning noise from local busses. Overall service was terrible. Location is good but I would not stay here again. Refund of $100 to take TWO WEEKS TO PROCESS. Simply. Or acceptable in today's electronic banking environment
The staff are friendly and helpful. Room is clean, I like particularly the swimming pool which is very clean. Located in the center of town convenient to move around town. The rooms are spacious, television offers plenty of channels with various languages.Morning calls are very effective, hotel staff even knock on guests' rooms to make sure guests are awaken. Ballroom is big enough to contain at least 500 people.
I saw two cockroaches, which was disgusting. Also, the bathroom door lock was so complicated, so I was stuck in the bathroom for 5 minutes. After that, the "free" breakfast buffet was really bad and had nothing good to eat. Lastly, the beds are not stuck to the ground. They move like they have wheels, which gets annoying. But overall, the hotel and bathroom is pretty nice. The swimming pool isn't that bad either because there's barely any chlorine.
This hotel offer horrible experience. Bug in the room. Girl at night and bad service. It was good the last century but not the 21th. The location is quite fine but overall is zero point to say. If you consider of coming down to Phnom Penh for tourist don't choose this Hotel or if for business, there a lot of new Hotel With lot better quality and price just check in TripAdvisor Hotel
