Having spent the end of February beginning of March at the hotel I thought I would wait to see reviews of others staying at the same time to see if we were at the 'same hotel.' I was very pleased to see a response from the AMD in respect of the reservation of sunbeds before we left for the holiday and that he was to bring it up at the meeting that day. I had reservations of the outcome especially in view of his response to a point raised by LindaH72 answered by addressing his reply to FabianS. Needless to say the problem, irrespective of what is said on here, was not resolved and it is noted that one contributor states that there were plenty of sunbeds, no doubt she was referring to 7am each morning when she placed two towels on beds for use 2 hours later in the day. The hotel is very good. The accommodation in a bungalow is a must for the bit extra and the breakfast first class. The evening meals were a little hit and miss with a miss more often than a hit. The grounds are very well kept and the sea is across a minor road. As there are no sunbeds allowed on the beach it was a little disappointing when hotels at the other side of the road gave access directly to the beach and had sunbeds fronting onto the beach. No diving was allowed into the pool according to the notices around the same but this rule was ignored by parents of teenagers and the enforcement of the same ignored by staff leading to a noisy dangerous practice and enforcing swimmers in the pool to be restrdcted to 75% of the same for their own safety. The hotel just needs to sort these things out and cater for the 95% of the people who would appreciate everybody abiding by the rules. An enjoyable holiday but if returning to the area I would look at hotels in a better position for access to the restricted beach and choose one with direct access.
First time in Thailand, so didn't know what to expect. Booked through Thomson, recommended by them, it was idiotic. The surroundings are so peaceful with birds calling etc. Just lazing around the beautiful pool was amazing. If you want the pumping music as in all inclusive style holiday, this is not the place. Serenity and calming is what it's about. Breakfast was good, and even the evening meal was better value and quality than up the road on main drag. Beach good, but go to Whitesands beach, 600 Bht in taxi return, beautiful place. Staff at hotel could not do enough and very polite . Did have trouble with Visa card payment on leaving, think this machine operator error. I wouldn't hesitate to book this place again. Only one problem was a smell from the air con, which to be fair was acted on immediately and corrected, but came back on our last day. Might be our apartments down the room 415 area.
Bhandari resort is the best! From the time we arrived was heaven. All the staff were fabulous, wit, charlie, kook, bam, chef Wang, Joe,BBQ nights (monday & thursday ) were fab. The room was very nice. The maid was in every day. Will be back! Thank you very much for a great stay.
Can't say enough about this resort. It's charming, relaxing, clean, helpful and just a wonderful atmosphere to be in for two weeks. Staff are helpful. Especially Kevin at the front desk. Lovely people. Spa is so relaxing and the massages are quite amazing. Quite a bit more expensive than down the road but worth it for the expertise and surroundings. We stayed in a bungalow which I think are more comfortable than the chalets or rooms. It was kept clean for us every day. Pool is lovely. Food is ok but not amazing but we only really ate breakfast there. There's lots of yummy restaurants not far. Everything is within walking distance. Taxi drivers close to hotel were not very helpful and didn't speak English so twice dropped us somewhere else to where we wanted to go. Always agree a price first. On arrival I was very poorly and needed to see a Dr. As we had just arrived reception directed us to one around the corner called Bangkok doctor I think. DO NOT go there. Ask your rep to refer you which is what I should have done. They did not know what was wrong with me instead injected a very heavy dose of something into my veins which had a bad reaction and I nearly stopped breathing. They didn't know what to do and just stared at me while I was gasping for breath. Not the best start to holiday. Luckily I started breathing properly again with no help from them and was charged over 5000 bat for the privilege. My own fault for not asking the Rep first but was in a lot of pain and didn't know what to do. Luckily this did ease after the second day so did not spoil holiday but something to be aware of. Excursions are fantastic. We went to an elephant Sanctuary, a nature tour and hidden paradise. All well worth the money. We took home many lovely memories. Apart from the first day :-o. Thank you Bhandari Resort for making our honeymoon special.
We have been to various places around the world and stayed in varying standards of accommodation. This resort has a very Thai look, beautiful gardens, lovely roomy bedrooms, clean and airy, friendly and helpful staff and we instantly felt at home and relaxed. This is by far the best all round resort that we've stayed at and we have already booked to go back. The only thing I probably would say is that, if we had young kids, then there probably isn't enough here to keep them occupied with no play area other than children's pool area. Location is also spot on as we could walk to loads of restaurants and bars. Roads are also safe and we felt confident enough to hire a moped for 3 days which was very cheap at £6 a day. Loads of trips to go on. Check out Khao lak guru on trip advisor also. Great affordable trips and can tailor make to your requirements. Far cheaper than tour operators and great service. All in all a great holiday....
We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Bhandari Resort Hotel and what a great holiday we had. The hotel was excellent, check in went very smoothly. Friendly staff, particularly Mook, Bam, Aoi and Charlie. Special thanks to the cleaners who kept our room spotlessly clean. The grounds of the hotel are very well kept, well done the gardeners. Pool area and the pool itself were very clean and tidy with plenty of sunbeds. Only a 2 min walk to the beach and 5 mins walk to the main road where there are loads of good bars and restaurants. Mojo Restaurant, Happy Lagoon Restaurant and the Monkey Bar were our favourite haunts for food and drinks. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a great holiday in Khao Lak.
Stayed for 1 week end of Feb beginning of March. Fantastic location, beach over road with cafe to see sunset. 5 minutes walk to Main Street where there are plenty of lovely restaurants and bars. Many bars within immediate area including on beach. Hotel room was fantastic, large and air conditioned. Bath & shower room. Traditional Thai style so if you wanting mod cons probably not for you but we loved it. We were in a chalet next to spa so had a fantastic view of tropical forest from our balcony. Breakfast was great, eggs any way you wished them. Cereals, cooked tomatoes, potatoes. Fresh fruit, salad, yoghurt as well as pastries served 7 - 10 with juices, tea & coffee. Pool area lovely plenty of sun beds. Cocktails served and 2 for 1 happy hour 4-5pm. Big tree bar lovely too. Staff lovely and friendly. One recommendation is to ring for bell boy for cases not to hand slip in with time to collect as ours were not collected which meant coach pick up had to wait for us. Fantastic hotel and area would definitely recommend and visit again. Thank you for a memorable holiday.
stayed here on our way to Phuket just turned up at reception was found a room no problem as it was in the rainy season not as full as it could have been spotless room great food lovely pool short walk to all the shops nearby would not have aproblem staying there again
Our third visit to Bhandari was just as good as before. We were allocated the same bungalow again and so were able to settle in very quickly. Such a friendly hotel, great staff, grounds and location. We enjoy it so much we are returning shortly with our family so they can enjoy it too.
Pretty much everything was positive about this hotel, as per the other reviews, except for 2 things... We had one meal in the restaurant and would rate it as poor. Tough chicken and hard, over cooked beef. We ate in other restaurants in Khao Lak for another 5 nights and this was by far the worst meal we had. Shame really. The cocktails were however lovely, especially between 4-5pm for happy hour ;-) Secondly, the hotel staff should monitor the situation with the sun beds around the pool being "reserved". Maybe putting a time limit of 30 minutes on them if they have not been used, then the towels and belongings are removed. There are nowhere near enough sun beds for all the hotel guests, and there don't need to be if everyone used them in a fair manner. Reserving a bed with towels at 07:30 and keeping it all day when only using it for 2-3 hours is frankly rude and selfish. But could easily be rectified by hotel staff monitoring the situation. Other than these two things, we had a really lovely stay and would definitely recommend it to family and friends.
