We stayed here last month for a couple of weeks (except a couple of days in the middle when we went on the Elephant Hills trip). Thought this hotel was perfectly situated for restaurants, short stroll to beach. We always got a sun bed if we went out after breakfast - shame there is a smoking area as it limits the places I would want to sit. We stayed in a bungalow and it was fabulously quiet. Beware of your legs on the corners of the bed as husband and myself both banged our legs quite badly and still bear the scars. The mattress is smaller than the bedframe and frame same colour as floor so in the night on getting up for a nocturnal visit(!) we banged our legs getting back into bed. Bathroom could do with some better lighting for make up etc. and thought for the size of the room (very spacious) there was very little storage for clothing and nowhere at all to hang longer dresses as there was a shelf in the middle of the cupboard. We ate in the restaurant on arrival and another couple of times during our stay and found the food really good and not much different in price to a reasonable restaurant in town. Only point I would make is we thought the reception staff didn't always have a good command of English and we often waited for our Philippino friend to be on duty if we had any questions to ask. Same at the bar, as it took several requests to find out what a Khaolak Bhandari non alcoholic cocktail contained. Every time I asked the staff said "you want one". I don't drink any fizz so wanted to check what was in it. Would definitely stay here again if travelling to Khao Lak.
If you look for a local Thai style hotel( vegetation, accommodation, food, music...). This is the place to go ! Nice chalet and bungalows. Very clean place. Small little Buddhas and flowers every where. Very friendly local staff. 2 nice and quiet swimming pools - just Thai music in the morning, which is very nice. Food is excellent - local and affordable. The Spa is also a great place to go ! Access to a nice beach is easy - 3 min walk. Access to a small city center - 7/10 min which is nice for night walks. Taxi not far and for 3/5 euros you can go far. Amazing place !
The hotel is set in a very beautiful tropical park, it is nice and relaxing. We had a villa very spacious. Breakfast is nice, we especially loved the Thai curry. The pool is ok and specious. The Spa is good and reasonably priced. We would recommend this hotel, the only thing that is not suitable for us the lack if chairs or sunbeds for the beach like most of the other hotels nearby. You are given towels for the beach but it is very uncomfortable to sit or lie down on the sands. We asked at the reception and they said that they are not available. For the rest everything is very good.
We spent 2 weeks here.We had a nice room on the first floor with a balcony. A nice size room and bathroom with a huge double bed and balcony. So peaceful. The gardens are very well maintained with lots of fish pools . The whole place is in an authentic style. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The breakfast was served between 6.30 and 10. everything from fruit to curry to any style of egg. the restaurant is nicely laid out. Some tables outside and different areas inside. The pool area is good. Surrounded by a wooden deck. Gets really hot in the sun!! as do the beds. A tip is to ask for a second towel to cover it. The whole area is a smoking zone. 2 downers though. 1/ The light in the wardrobe didn't turn off. after 3 attempts at getting it fixed and a night of it flashing, we took the bulb out!! 2/ They have put a metal set of steps in to the pool. I slipped on the ramp next to it. then saw at least 1 person a day fall! Close it off or put a non slip surface in!! having said that we loved the place and would visit again.
We had a one night stay and it was a very nice and spacious room with that rustic charm. Large enough that a couple could do yoga in. Lots of wood furnishings gave it a nice warm feel. The squeaky wooden floors added to the experience fortunately it was ground floor only so you’re not bothering anyone with walking around and more importantly no one is bothering you. Spread across quite a large compound makes it quite private and peaceful. Washroom had a tub and a large shower area separate from the toilet and sink. Staff were friendly and very approachable without being intrusive which we appreciate a lot.
We returned yesterday 31/3/2018 having spent two weeks at the Bhandari resort. From the moment we arrived we were treated with a welcoming cold drink and ice cool towel. The staff at this hotel are amazing and can’t do enough for you. Our bungalow accommodation was excellent and spotless and was kept that throughout our stay. Bathroom was a bit tired looking and could do with a refurb (my only criticism). The grounds are immaculate and maintained constantly and the architecture is authentically Thai. Peaceful and quiet but conveniently placed, close to the amazing beach and local shops and restaurants. Breakfast was superb, with a choice of everything to suit all tastes. A delightful place to stay and a great first time experience of the land of smiles. We loved it and will be back.
Stayed at the Bhandari after 3 nights in Bangkok and it was exactly what we needed. A nice quiet and relaxing resort with close proximity to shops and amenities. Our room in the bungalow was very spacious and clean, the grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept. The hotel’s bar and restaurant were very reasonably priced, no dearer than the bars and restaurants up the road and if you were back at the hotel before 10 pm you got the “buy 2 get 1 free” offer at the bar which meant the hotel was cheaper! The only criticism we had, as others have mentioned, the bathroom could benefit from a shaving mirror. Also the pillows could be of better quality. All in all, a very enjoyable stay. Would recommend for a restful and peaceful holiday.
We stayed in one of the rooms on the second floor overlooking the gardens. The room was spacious and the balcony reasonably large compared to some other hotels we have stayed in. Basic furniture with limited clothes storage but always kept nice and clean. Rooms could benefit from having better lighting, especially in the bathroom. The bathroom was large with a walk in shower and also a bath. We had a mini bar fridge, safe and hairdryer in the room. 2 small bottles of water were provided each day. There was a kettle and 2 tea bags, 2 sachets of coffee and sugar provided with 2 coffee creamers. Unfortunately milk was not provided for the tea. (Coffee creamer is horrible in tea!) However we provided ourselves, as required, with milk from the breakfast buffet and stored it in the fridge. It was nice to have a little sitting area with a small table. Breakfasts were standard choices with fruit, pastries, toast, egg station and a small selection of hot food. Service was prompt for tea/coffee and turn round of tables. We never had to wait for a table. We can not comment on evening meal service as we did not eat at the hotel in the evenings. The gardens are lovely and relaxing, well kept and traditional with fish ponds. There are sunbeds around the lovely pool area but unfortunately the "no reservation of sunbeds" notice is generally ignored with towels placed on the beds from early morning. One side of the pool is classed as smoking permitted. This is a shame as often it was this area where non "reserved" sunbeds were. It would be better for all the pool area to be non smoking as there is a designated smoking area just beyond the pool, near the bar. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. The gardeners we applaud for working so hard in the intense heat. There are plenty of restaurants, shops and supermarkets up on the main road - about 10 - 15 minutes walk up a small hill. There are also restaurants near the beach area. The beach is just across the small road and is lovely and clean. The sea is warm and clean too. If we returned to Khao Lak we would consider using this hotel again but would probably stay in one of the bungalows.
Having done an exhausting 8 day tour of Thailand, we stooped at the Bhandari Resort for our remaining 5 days and we have no complaints whatsoever. We chose the Bhandari resort because of its proximity to shops and restaurants and for its closeness to the beach- we prefer to get out and about as opposed to stopping within the confines of the hotel so it was perfectly situated. The main drag is a mere 10 minute safe walk and the beach is literally just over the road, with a very nice beach bar to the right. I recommend going over to the beach to watch the sunset which is absolutely beautiful. There is also a taxi rank just a few steps down the road. We stopped in one of the bungalows. Like many of the other hotels we stayed in the furniture is of dark wood which can look a bit shabby but it does fit in with the style of the accommodation. The staff kept our bungalow spotless. There was a shower inside but outside there was also a stone bath with shower over in our own little tiny garden. We didn't choose to use it as I have a fear of being eaten by mosquitos and I think it would have taken ages to put water in the bath! We had twin beds, and there was a settee and chair inside and also a settee on our porch which was very comfortable. There was also a useful drying rack outside for towels, swimmies etc. This is one of the quietest places that I have ever stayed-absolute bliss for me as I am a light sleeper. The pool is adequately sized with area all round for sunbeds. As there are under 80 units of accommodation, there were always sunbeds available, but we generally walked the beach as we're not loungers. We didn't eat dinner in the resort but breakfasts were fine-very similar to those in all the other hotels we stayed in over the two weeks of our holiday. There was a spa at the resort but I can't tell you anything about it as I didn't use it. The resort also has a shuttle bus and they took us to the local market at no cost which was great. It also offers cooking classes twice a week at a reasonable cost, and they have a barbecue dinner but we didn't try it. The bar staff are very helpful and sweet and there is a happy hour 4-5 by the pool and 9-10 at the other roadside bar. All in all no complaints whatsoever with this resort.
We stayed for two weeks and had a great time. the room was spacious and clean, The mini bar contained beer, coke, soda water and mineral water, although you also get 2 free bottles of water per day. I do agree with another reviewer about the lighting in the bathroom, a light above the sink for shaving would have been nice. Pool towels are supplied and you can take them down to the beach. Breakfast was between 6.30 -10.30 not a vast choice but adequate, there is an egg station that will freshly prepare your choice of egg, there are also fresh fruits, salad, bacon, sausage, tomatoes. even curry and rice ( if you fancy one at that time of day),pancakes, waffles, pastries and toast. The pool was nice the sun beds all received their fair share of sun/shade, there is a notice about not reserving sun beds but some chose to ignore it. The beach is about 100m from the hotel, the path to it is directly opposite the hotel entrance. About 200m left from the entrance is Coconut beach bar that has sun beds, good food and cold beer. There are numerous places to eat/drink along the main road which is about 10 min walk or a short taxi ride to Bang Nang offers even more choices
