Thai style bungalows, nice garden but beach not good: rocks.. Food: cheap quality, pork, chicken,eggs... Food is much better at Centara hotel Staff talk together, joke and laugh, not really professional At the check out, 6 staff in the lobby, they all talk and joke together,laugh...nobody help my wife to carry her bag to the car, they prefer talk and joke, don't care Cannot recommend this place

Before our holiday here I read 70/80% of reviews and was very very excited to be staying at such a luxurious hotel... however we actually cut our stay here short and left to go elsewhere due to being let down. The good; pool area is clean and pool staff are friendly. Rooms are very spacious & beds are very comfortable. Bathrooms are good size with large shower and bath area. House keeping are prompt in getting to you when required. Umbrellas and torches are great (grounds aren’t well lit for watching where you step & can be used out oh hotel grounds) Air con is amazing and an absolute godsend. Breakfast is great, plenty of choice and always lots of staff to serve tea & coffee(very friendly too) WiFi is okay throughout the hotel. A member of staff was kind enough to let us use his phone to save us lots of money making a call for a change of transfer. The bad; beds are not changed very often & as you can imagine with the heat they aren’t pleasant. Some staff speak very poor English which is hard when you are trying to communicate with them. There are stray cats in the restaurant which sit and scream at you when you’re eating (to me this is a put off) unfortunately the staff do nothing about this (it’s maybe the norm over here but me partner and I certainly don’t expect stray cats in 4* hotel restaurant) The room; we came across a large family of ants sharing our room & was constantly getting them off clothing & shoes etc. We actually lived out of our cases & left them zipped up when we were out and about. It made the room feel very unclean and made us uneasy, however when we told house keeping they did clean it up and spray it straight away.. (see photo) I went to reception to ask for a doctor or first aider because something had bitten me as I had around 15-20 bites which were swollen and very painful, the lady behind reception said probably not mosquitoes but maybe bed bugs, she said that it was normal and she would send someone to change the sheets. (We booked the first hotel we could out of here) Lizards, okay so I don’t like creepy crawlys and insects or even lizards, so my worst nightmare happened we had 3 in our room throughout our 8 days here... 1, house keeping got rid of, the 2nd disappeared and the 3rd, house keeping lost down the back of the wardrobe (still to be found)

The whole resort is in a traditional Thai style – some of the fittings/fixtures are rather rustic, but have that original feel to them. The room is about double a normal hotel room size, with a balcony/terrace overlooking the garden and Thai style architecture and fittings. The a/c and hot water works well, there is a mini bar and room safe, free wifi, and the bed is relatively comfortable (certainly nowhere near as hard as some). Pool entry is good with easy access for disabled people plus a sloping ramp. Be aware that whilst it appears that the ramp would suit wheelchair access, the water is about 1.4m deep at the end of the ramp. We didn’t try their main restaurant, but the breakfast was fantastic with the normal egg station plus many western dishes and a good selection of asian cuisine (which changed daily). Plenty of seating overlooking their very nice pool area - most relaxing. The staff was very pleasant and service was good. Special thanks to Yiw who looked after us at breakfast each morning and anticipated our needs for tea/coffee/milk etc. Re’ the happy hour at the pool bar 4pm – 5pm. Quite a few people partaking but I must say that the happy hour prices didn’t seem overly generous to me. One suggestion: Exhibit signs and make it clear to guests that they are not to feed the birds. Watching some people hand feeding vermin with wings on their breakfast tables does not make me want to come back.

I booked a single night at the Khaolak Bhandari after returning from a dive trip. It was immediately so impressive I actually extended by stay by one night and skipped the night I had booked elsewhere in Phuket. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the chalet style room included a large bathtub- which after a weeklong dive trip was a perfect amenity. The included breakfast was delicious and presented options from both Western and Thai fare. The selection of fruit jellies and jams was a delightful treat as well. Drinks at the bars were reasonably priced. As other reviewers have noted, the spa pricing was high but the resort is located a few minutes walk from any number of Thai massage parlors. The property of the resort was beautiful and well maintained. Lots of trees and several fish ponds surround the large swimming pool. Overall, the design is very relaxing and the staff was excellent. They were accommodating of my last minute request to extend my stay and re-arranged the room assignments to allow me to stay the additional night in my room. I plan on returning to Khaolak to dive in the future and will definitely plan on staying at this resort again.

A wonderful setting , perfect staff , very unusual massive rooms , and an outside shower which once discovered used twice a day , try to avoid the rainy season although fascinating 12 inches of rain in an hour is unbelievable.Once off the main Bhandari main strip which is the usual asian curry houses and local made knock off big name t shirts etc , the places to eat are awesome , and visits on a very fast motor boat from Phuket to monkey island , James Bond island and the place they filmed the Beach,Good Morning Vietnam etc a must. It is not 5 star , be prepared to mix in with the locals and you will have a great time, totally recommended.

This place is so green and peaceful. Staff were nice and friendly. They have a good pool and pool area with smoking and non smoking lounges. We walked in off the street and booked a room for 1,300b but it was a little bit cheap if we booked online. - This included breakfast. Thy have a gym available for use at a hotel just up the road. Includes a couple of treadmills, DBs, a bench, leg press, pull down and a cross trainer (or there abouts). Room was really great, it’s big with a big bed (a firm bed), little front balcony with sun lounges, big bathroom with a bath. Just across the road from the beach and short walk to the street. The spa menu is very expensive. Would stay again for sure, I think it’s a very good price for what you get!

First visit to Thailand and couldn't of wished for a better 10 days away with friends.Resort was just perfect for our needs , close to shops and beach. Staff always greeted us with a smile and happy to help with anything that we needed . Beautiful Thai inspired gardens and surrounds , rooms lovely with close access to pool and restaurant . Hope to come back next year and couldn't think of anywhere nicer to stay . Hopefully see you again in 2019 .

Nothing changes from my review one year ago. We visited with friends this time who fell in love with the surroundings and staff. Great rooms, huge selection for breakfast, beautiful gardens and close to beach. Shops/restaurants are a casual 10 minute stroll. Special mention to the staff, Charlie and Dan great for a chat but also provide outstanding service. Kwang and Mook will most likely be greeting you first for breakfast with a friendly smile and hello. Fon looked after me twice for a massage, I asked for gentle the first time and almost went to sleep. All the staff however are fantastic. Most likely back again next year for a 3rd visit.

I stayed here for 2wks with my family.absolutly loved it. On arrival the rooms where not ready but we were served tea and cold drinks.the staff are so friendly and help full. Our rooms where lovely. cleaned every day .the beds where so comfy.they provided beach and pool towels. The surrounding areas where lovely.very peaceful. Maybe to peaceful for my 15yr old.they needed a little back ground music by the pool maybe. The breakfast was lovely .a wide range to chose from.the staff where lovely. Especially Charlie. I would recommend this hotel The only thing is the pizza from the pool side bar was not good .far to much cheese but that's the only complaint Can't wait to come back to Thailand such an amazing experience. The best holiday ever.

This resort is beautiful. So much detail added. Check Tripadvisor for local cheaper restaurants. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Welcome drink and ice cold towels. I will be bringing my son here next year.
