The Free CAT Buses (Central Area Transit)
Perth’s famous free CAT buses stop just moments from the front door. These high-frequency buses run every few minutes and are completely free to use:

Red CAT: The stop is practically on your doorstep on Hay Street. This route runs East-West, taking you directly into the heart of the shopping malls, the Perth Underground station, and toward West Perth.

Yellow CAT: Just a short walk over to Wellington Street, the Yellow CAT is perfect for reaching Claisebrook Cove or the northern side of the CBD.

Free Transit Zone (FTZ)
In addition to the CAT buses, any Transperth bus within the city boundaries is free to hop on and off. You won’t need to tap a card or pay a fare as long as you stay within the city zone.

Good place to stay in Perth!

Great apartment in the city area. We used the pool and gym and loved the morning walks along the river. Very central to everything . The Cafe was so handy and walking distance to restaurants for dinner.
Stayed 6 nights in Apr 2025
