If you are looking for a simple overnight, convenient if simple meals, gorgeous walks across the road and Kings Park behind, this will suit. European in style. Small rooms but adequate. Clean and comfortable bed. Parking is easy.
Despite being a bit tired around the edges, this was such a great place to stay. Parking on site (and not extra cost), restaurant attached, wonderful bed, decent amenities in room. Shower probably needs new tiles and shower head but nothing to stop me staying there. Lovely being able to use pool with area really clean and cared for. Definitely would stay again.
We were disappointed with this hotel. Our room had been upgraded but was still basic and lacking any style. We had breakfast the first morning but the service was so very slow, in the end the chef himself brought the food to the dining room as the waiter was unable to cope with the very few guests requiring attention. Result food had been hanging around in the kitchen for too long. Therefore not all that good, but probably had been fifteen minutes earlier. The other disappointment was the distance from the centre of town, too far to wander out look at various restaurants and have a meal, especially when you are jet-lagged. Result they have a captive audience for evening meals, with same dismal service. We should have paid more attention to our booking prior to travel, however our agent who has always served us well in the past - and for the rest of the holiday our accommodation couldn’t be faulted -suggested this hotel, they must get it for a good price!
Staff were friendly. The bed was comfortable. A laundry with washing machines was available. However, early sunlight leaked from the gap between the curtain and the bottom edge of the window, and that deteriorated the quality and quantity of my sleep starting from 6am each day. They could do better if they replace it with a longer curtain. My room is a bit smelly. They may wish to find out the source of it. Self-service laundry closes at 9pm! That was exactly the time when we usually finished our day and needed the laundry most! We were disappointed to find it unavailable when we took all the clothes to there. They could do better if they could figure out a possible way to extend the available time of the self-service laundry.
We arrived just after 01.00 and were greeted by a very friendly night porter, checked in with very little fuss and off we went to our room. The room was well appointed with air conditioning and a very comfortable double bed, TV and all the usual comforts that one has come to expect. The bathroom was functional the shower both hot and powerful enough, but if I am being perfectly honest could have done with a bit of a makeover, old taps being the thing that really needed upgrading, but, this really was a minor concern when taking an overall look at the hotel, we didn't eat in the restaurant as we chose to get up and see the sights and grab breakfast/lunch/dinner on the hoof as it were but all looked and smelled lovely. There is a pool although again we didn't use it due to sightseeing (we only spent three nights with Sullivans as we had a motorhome booked with Maui, (more about that in another review). One thing we did make use of though was the free Bikes the hotel has for the guests use, we cycled a huge distance a brilliant way of seeing the sights and getting a bit of excercise!!! so easy to stop and take pictures or grab a drink from a riverside stop or even grab lunch from a pub!! one word of advice I will share is, cycle helmets are required by law in Aus, and the hotel has a selection that they loan as well, I am a fair skinned person and should have worn a cap underneath the helmet, because when I removed it I had a red and white checkered head where the sun had burnt the bits une air vent holes, still it gave my wife a giggle at dinner that night!!!! All in all we were very satisfied with Sullivan's a great location withing walking distance of the city and Elizabeth Quay, but on the free orbital bus route if you feel like taking it a bit easier. The Staff we met were all helpful friendly and seemed genuinely interested in where we came from and what things we were hoping to see / do whilst with them, top marks to them all, especially one young lady who we joked with saying that she must work 24 hours a day and I'm sorry but your name escapes me but thank you for all your advice and assistance. Would certainly be very happy to stay with Sulivan's the next time we are in Perth.
A colleague recommended Sullivans as a small homely hotel in preference to the standard corporate chrome and swipe card chain. I liked it! A warm welcome and deluxe room on the top floor (with balcony view) was just perfect. The rooms are not swish, but great value and comfortable. (The hotel has free wifi, but only downstairs). Sullivans is in a great location near to the CBD, and Kings Park (up a steep flight of steps). Breakfast is very reasonable, and all you need to start the day.
Our first time in Australia and we stayed in Sullivans Hotel ,it is in a lovely location just out side of the City overlooking a beautiful water park. The Hotel has fantastic staff a breakfast you would die for ,and a fantastic evening meal.
We arrived in the early hours of the morning to find the 'deluxe' room we had paid for was in fact a standard twin bed. No drinking water in the room and no telephone. Having said that, it was clean and comfortable and the food was good. Staff were friendly. Although a little out of the city there is a free bus into main shopping and tourist area, the bus stop almost outside the hotel.
A small hotel walking distance to the city, Elizabeth Quay and Kings Park (either via Jacobs Ladder or easier path. The rooms were a good size and the bed oh, so comfy. Restaurant overlooking the park opposite, with a lovely pool - not the newest but one I'd return to and highly recommend. Although no wi-fi in room it was free in the lobby, bar and restaurant areas
We arrived in Perth in the early hours of the morning after a late flight from Singapore. There was no problem checking in at 2am, which was a relief after arriving by taxi from the airport. We stayed for 4 nights in very pleasant and comfortable surroundings. Perth is a small city and this hotel is certainly within walking distance of the city centre (15 mins). On our last night there was a slight issue with the room (nothing that wouldn’t be expected in any other hotel). We were due to return the following week for one night and when we drew attention to our ‘room issue’ the management ‘excelled’ in how they dealt with the matter. On our return they made absolutely sure we had a great stay. If we ever return to Perth, I would make a point of staying at Sullivans!!
