Everything was great, except the room needs more comfortable chair for relaxation after a long day of work.
Very nice hotel with a historic and vintage feel. My corner room was amazing! Floor to ceiling windows in the room allowed for great views of the city. Very clean, the front desk staff were very friendly, and the bartender in the lobby bar was superb. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and when I stay in Pensacola again, I'll book a room here.
This was a nice hotel, but not a lot going on. There really wasn't anywhere that you could walk to unless it was the arena next-door. The bathrooms should be equipped with ventilation fans. Bathroom door squeaked and could've used a little WD-40. Breakfast in the restaurant was good.
We stayed at the Grand for a visit with our Navy son. The room was nice and clean. We had an issue with the in-room safe, which the Maint. Staff promptly addressed. The only real negatives are the parking lot is easily accessed by out-siders and the noise. The hotel does have 24 hour security so, that made us feel better about the parking lot. The noise issue relates to the fact that can you very easily hear the occupants of the adjacent room (our room had an adjoining door). That can be an issue especially on a weekend (like last weekend) where there was a lot of partying. The Staff were very nice, cheerful and helpful. The historic side of the building is very nice as well.
The hotel is in downtown very historic hotel nice shops the restaurant was very good the bar was very good overall I was happy with the experience at this hotel
We stayed 4 nights and I will say the staff was responsive, however, the good points end there. On to the bad: 1. Granted this is an old train depot, but a minimum of one train will come within 20 yards of your room every night and wake you up. 2. The area is not safe, especially for white people. It's located in the slums of Pensacola. Bums are out front every afternoon panhandling. And don't even think about walking anywhere. 3. The food is terrible, both room service and restaurant. 4. Housecleaning team is rude and don't clean. I always but a black dot with a sharpie on my sheets to ensure they are changed. At the end of my stay, my sheets still had the black dot, meaning the sheets were made but never changed. At this point I was just ready to leave. Do yourself a favor, spend the extra 20/night and get a proper hotel closer to the beach.
I selected this hotel because it had received 4 out 5 rating on Orbitz. Don't be fooled by high ratings. The door to room had large gap that hallway light would illuminate the room. Walls are so thin that you could hear nearby occupants speak or hear television. Beware of train passing and blowing horn almost every other hour throughout the night. I exerienced the worst sleepless night!
I thought this was a very nice hotel that has recently been renovated, which made it even nicer. Easy location. Nice room.
Pros: The staff was helpful and lovely. The lobby maintained a lot of the "train" decor. Cons: You will hear the trains and the cars zooming on the highway surrounding the hotel, even if on an upper floor. Walls are thin, and you will hear everything from the room next door. There was a bridal party that started their festivities at 6:00 am (seriously) and you would have sworn the party was going on in our room. The decor is dingy and in desperate need of a makeover. This hotel could be so much more than what it is, but not sure the economics of the area would justify the expense.
This hotel probably offers the best views in Pensacola. It's close to every thing near the bay and downtown, probably 20-30 minutes from Pensacola Beach.
Everyone is always smiling and friendly. Love the atmosphere.
A little old and dirty. We also had ants in the room that got into my bag and all into my clothes. Historic building had charm however.
There was a little construction going on but it never bothered us! But there is only one microwave for the whole hotel. That was a little aggravating. But not enough to keep me from staying again!
I arrived mid afternoon to check in and was told that my room was not ready. Moved to a different room to find that there was a room service tray in front of the door from the night before and an overwhelming stench in the hallway and the "clean" room. I was moved to another floor that was some better. The room was ok, but nothing particularly special. I suspect that the management of this property is to blame for the issues. I've seen this apathy many times before and the hotel reflects this type of lack of attention to detail. The room and experience were not worth the money spent.
Hotel was more than I hope for, for the price. I think it was rated a 3 star Hotel but it was just as nice as a five star Hotel. Loved the pool and its location.
Hotel was beautiful. Couldn't ask for a more courteous, helpful staff. Will definitely stay at this hotel again. Was a little concerned about the train that passes but never heard it while in my room.
Hotel was exceptional Staff courteous and helpful. Room very nice with ac on. Big deal for Florida in July.Would stay there again.
We booked last minute. Staff we very nice. The hotel is an older hotel with charm. The lighting in the bathroom was very dark. Once you stepped outside of your room it felt like they always kept the A/C off in the main hallway. Overall it was a nice stay and I would stay here again.
The room was clean . The bed and pillows were very comfortable . The staff was friendly.
Love the character of the hotel. Parking was easy and it was close to nearby places I needed to go.
