Drive by this one. My husband and I stopped at 1 am after driving 9 hours and just wanted a clean room to sleep for 7 hours before getting back on the road again. Was given an upstairs room which smelled like stale cigarettes (non smoking facility). Found 2 dead bugs on bathroom floor, toilet was dirty and behind toilet looked like a gas station toilet (filthy, rusty and brown). Wall paper falling off in bathroom. 2 lights in bathroom had bulbs exposed because there was no covers on them. Telephone had no cord to call down to desk and complain. The exhaust dust had so much dust and filth on it. The bedding is a whole other story! My husbands blanket, NOT the bedspread had dark brown spots on it. And the new air conditioner unit did NOT work. At 1:15 went back down to desk (where I can say the young man was very nice and pleasant) and asked for another room. SECOND room was slightly better. Bathroom looked better, but blankets just as nasty. Sheets appeared ok. Security lock on door was missing chain. We ended up pulling bedspread and blanket off completely and slept in our clothes with just the sheets. When we checked out at 7am there was a lady at desk. Complained to her about both rooms and was told she more less didn't understand how the rooms were like that...REALLY!!!! DO NOT STAT AT THIS HOTEL!!!!!!
Was looking for an inexpensive place to stay in the Parkersburg area, and chose this one because it's a Choice property and they were running a "stay two nights, get a gift card" promotion. The reviews here also helped in making that decision. Using the discount I get through my insurance company and reserving on Choice's site, I got a great rate. What I got in return was a spacious, comfortable room that was acceptably clean Wi-fi speed was average, shower water pressure was outstanding, breakfast was standard continental fare. A few dining options nearby and there's a Walmart and more restaurants just a couple of miles up the road. The rooms look to be a little dated but mine was clean and that's the most important thing. I'd definitely consider staying here again.
Inexpensive, comfortable, quiet, clean (except table had a sticky spot), basic breakfast - sufficient, water cooler, internet slow but usable, plenty of outlets, microwave, refrigerator. We were just looking for a place to stay overnight on our trip south.
Had a little trouble finding the place. When we arrived there were s workers doing roof repairs. I rented 2 rooms. The one in front was slightly nosier, the tv was a little smaller but the a/c was colder. The one in back was quieter, had a larger tv ,but the a/c didn't work as well. I would of rather the room had 2 queen size beds without a higher rate. The pool was great. The breakfast was pretty good. The staff very friendly in fact, I went swimming with my cell phone in my pocket. As soon as I realized it the desk clerk immediately came to my rescue with a bag of rice. Nice place ,great prices. Would certainly stay here again
Raj at check in was very polite and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. AC worked great and the room was very quiet and peaceful. There was plenty of hot water in the shower. Everything about the room was very clean. I did not use the pool but it looked very well kept. I like the fact that the pool can be seen from the front desk. Only thing that I did not like was the hotter the shower got the louder the noise got from the shower head and I tend to take a shower with very little or no cold water. Other than that it was a great stay. :)
I travel a lot, and have traveled a lot, and occasionally, just find a gem. I have to say that this one of the nicest places, for the money, that I've ever encountered. The key phrase here being "for the money." Of course, I have stayed and at far, far, far nicer places than this. But this hotel was about $55 for one night. I have stayed in complete dives for $55. For my $55 here, the hotel was clean, had a microwave and fridge in the room, a really nice indoor pool where I was able to get some exercise and then a work-out room for some additional exercise. No, the work-out equipment was hardly Planet Fitness but what do you expect for $55 a night? It was enough equipment to get in an OK work-out. And, then, there's a pizza joint within walking distance of the hotel...I was in nearby Parkersburg on business,....so if you are looking for a clean place to say, with a few extras usually found at places another $25 - $50 higher up the hotel food chain, then I highly recommend this place.
The hotel is older and could use some refurbishing. My room was upstairs and the hallway had a cat urine smell- thankfully, the room didn't smell this way. But, when I turned on the AC, a musty smell quickly took the room over- I think the unit needs cleaning. The room hadn't looked like it been dusted or vacuumed in quite some time and it remained this way for my 2 night stay. The towels were scratchy and not clean-looking. The breakfast was okay- my first morning, there was no attendant so I had to seek help from another guest. They have a waffle maker, but the batter was very watery. There was also some fruit, bagels, toast, and cereal to choose from as well. It was a cheap place to stay but I wouldn't stay again.
This is the best hotel. My room was ready and nice. The breakfast is very good. I loved the waffles. The pool and hot tub are very nice. I really enjoyed the hot tub, and the pool is also heated. Fitness room I enjoyed also. It is a very clean and nice hotel, and the beds are very comfortable. I will stay here again. I highly recommend this hotel.
On a motorcycle trip got caught in the rain and picked this hotel. The owner happened to be under the carport and immediately talked to me. Went into the lobby and some workers were taking a break eating pizza. The offered me some and engaged me about my bike and the rain. Desk clerk asked if I wanted a first floor room where I could park my bike outside and watch it. This is not a 5 star hotel but it is clean and no smoking. The TV's were not flat screen. Free Wi Fi that worked fine. My out the door price with tax was $67.00. I would stay there again.
We were in town for a weekend long event with a large group. The staff was very nice and the room was clean. The breakfast was adequate. Beyond that....the motel shows wear such as buckets under the sink to catch leaks, gouges in the wallpaper, broken furniture, leaky shower head, etc. THERE WAS NO COFFEE POT IN THE ROOM!!!! Wifi in our room was sketchy at best. We got the "last available" room and were charged a lot. Our room was huge!! They said it is often used for conferences and there was a storage closet with tables and chairs to prove it. Our bed actually pulled down out of the wall....lol. Huge flat screen TV was nice.
