Me and 2 ski buddy friends just returned from skiing in Park City. We stayed in a 3 bedroom condo, nearby to Redstone shopping area with great restaurants and a Whole Foods grocery, 6 minute drive to the Canyons ski area. We cooked in most nites and went out several nites. Great location and amply furnished condo.
They placed a porta potty right outside my 80 yr old mother-in-law and handicap brother-in-law's front door and refused to move it. They told us they would have to find another location for it, get approval from all of the other residents, then pay to move it. Then thanked me for being so understanding, and it will only be there for two months. They told us they sent everyone an email about where the porta pottys for the construction would be located, however, we never saw one. I contacted the construction crew and the porta potty was moved the next day. The unit we bought was advertised as an ADA unit, and there was no roll in shower for someone in a wheelchair. In fact, one bathroom had a stall shower with a 6 inch lip. I complained about Sundance film attendees taking up the residents parking on the weekend and these people not having parking passes. They told me there is nobody there on the weekends to enforce the parking. So I asked if we need the parking pass if nobody is there to enforce it, and they told me that you still need a parking pass to park there at any time. I asked again, then what about the people that are taking parking spots away from residents and do not have a pass? She told me again that there is no one there to enforce the parking, but you still need a pass. ???
We have rented several places in the PC Area for the last 10 years or so and this is one of the best. The location is great for eating out, shopping, activities other than on the mountain, and close to I80. It is a quick ride to PC resorts. The actual neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful even though it is so close to so much. The free PC shuttle stop is too far to walk in ski gear but not too bad if riding in to PC to eat or shop. If you want to take it with ski gear you can drive to the bus stop ( in front of Bed Bath and Beyond) and leave your car in the lot. The condo feels more like a house rental with a front porch and garage attached. The condo was clean, comfy beds, gas fireplace, nice size kitchen and dining room. We rated it an A and the only thing that kept it from A+ was the lack of humidifier, boot dryers, garage door remote for the car, and the slowest coffee maker on the planet. Lol This was a great condo for our stay and if it is a 2 bedroom condo you seek, see if this is available on VBRO. You will be just as pleased as we were, I am sure of it.
My Mom, My Sister and my nephews (17 mos & 4 yrs old), husband and I stayed in one of the 3 bedroom units at Fox Point Condos at Red Stone – overlooking Red Rock Brewery, July 02-July 03, 2013. My Mom made these reservations as a gift to our family to spend some quality time together. Upon our arrival, we were impressed by the looks of the condo. It is well appointed and clean, although it was uncomfortably hot inside (the temperature on our car read 106 degrees), so we immediately turned on, what we thought, was the air conditioner. We brought the fans out from the closets – 4 total and set them up in the living room. I located a Ninja blender in the kitchen and wanted to blend some icy drinks, however the blender did not work. The fridge overheated to a point that it stopped making ice. We rarely complain, but after a couple hours, it was only getting worse, so we called the off-site management office to find out there was NO AIR CONDITIONING?? I assumed that AC was a basic amenity in the US for any type of lodging, perhaps because every place (including 3rd world countries) that I’ve stayed has had AC – I know better now. The children began showing signs of heat exhaustion, so we filled the master tub with cool water and put them in. My Mom, a Senior, lay on the couch and we gave her wet wash cloths and water to drink to try and cool her down. On the 3rd hour, I began to get nauseated and spent the rest of the evening between the bed and the bathroom. We could barely operate – the heat had zapped all of our energy. My Mom called the management again and they offered to let us move, yet insisted it would cool down soon and the move was unnecessary. So we stayed…waiting…for it to cool down in the condo (as they’d promised) – this was 4pm. My Mom had been SO excited to treat us to these lovely two days, so we tried not to complain, but it was SO, SO HOT! About 9:30pm, the temperature in the condo finally began to break, but our day together had been ruined. If we had known that there was no AC upon check-in, we would have NEVER stayed there. You bet, in the future, it will be the FIRST question I ask before making the reservation and going in to any hotel room or condo, it will be the FIRST thing I check, because I will NEVER put myself in that position again. Ever. If this condo had air conditioning, it probably would’ve been okay – or perhaps during the winter, it would be nice. However, if there is no AC, is there heat? I won’t be going back find out. We evacuated the next morning before the heat could set in again again.
My family and I rented a 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath town house in March 2013 and had a very nice stay. We have rented many houses around Park City and have had good and unfortunately, some bad properties as well and we were definitely not disappointed this time around. Great value for the money and a fantastic location, being in the Redstone shopping plaza. Many restaurants, a Smiths and Whole Foods Supermarket, Starbucks, multi plex movie theater and many other shops are at your doorstep. Fox Pointe is a great place stay with kids and very convenient to all the ski resorts in the Park City area. If you do stay here, make sure to request an updated/upgraded home as I understand that there is a variety of decoration depending on which unit you get. Also, not all of the homes have wifi internet, so make the request of management and if one is available, they will definitely help to ensure you get a home with internet access if that is important to you. Our family vacations in Park City every July. This year we decided to stay at Fox Point @ Red Stone just off the interstate. Upon arriving check in was inconvenient. We did not receive "discount passes" to the pool/fitness center. The cost to go there was unbelievable and not really close to our condo. The kitchen was nice to have although the dishes and silverware looked stained and dirty. Only 3 Cascade jell packs were left for dish washing. The bedrooms need updated bedding. The linens and comforters were worn and stained. The carpets have several black stains throughout the unit. It didn't appear a full clean was done after the previous stay. We also did not get a mid-week clean. I called the office several times about housekeeping with no reply from anyone. Manager must have been off for the holiday week. Also, the residents above unit are heavy footed and are up around 24/7. Don't waste your money here stay at one of the nicer resorts for the same amount and get what you pay for.
I think this place qualifies more as a vacation rental than hotel. The units are 2 and 3 bdr townhouses that are very nicely furnished and are comfortable and well located. A few things could be better and make it great. First, be aware that there is no internet. I was told upon check in that only a few homes have internet. Second, the kitchen utensils were very worn, almost looked dirty. They were not dirty because I put them in the dishwasher and came out exactly the same, so they are just stained. There is only housekeeping one day of the week, and it just so happened that it wasn't during my stay. I was missing trash bags and had to call to find out were I should put the trash. I was told to put it in the garbage bin inside the garage. Problem is, no one told me there was a garage. I saw all car parked on the street and assumed that's were you should park. After I found out about it, went to the garage only to find the trash bin completely full. They took care of it very quickly but thses are the type of details kept me from giving it a great rating. The place is very quiet and I would stay there again now that I know what to expect. Check in and out was a breeze but be aware that you have to go to the complex across the street to do it. Not a big deal.
Nice, roomy, clean 2 bedroom condo. We were only staying for one night, but this is definitely a place that I would reserve for a multiple night ski trip!
The condo was wonderful! Fully furnished and perfectly clean. It has a modern look that was refreshing and comfortable.
Pros: Location, Location, Location. Also, a very well-equipped kitchen and nice leather furniture in living room. The MAJOR negative was the filthy carpet in all the rooms. I don't think it was replaced or cleaned since being installed. In addition, the Xmas decorations should've been stored. Please... it's late March. Floor of the master closet was filled with junk. Huge sofa in master also restricted movement. Management does not appear to be aware of the importance of DETAILS in prepping a place for rental.
