Great location in the 8th district. Fairly central and easy access to the bus and metro area. Hotel is clean and has a good service team. Front desk always manned and communication is fairy easy although I do not speak French. Staff have varying degrees of English. Plenty of diversity in choices for meals at the many local restaurants. French, Japanese,Chinese, italian etc. Close to all the big names in fashion as well as the local retailers shops. I would certainly stay at this hotel again.
The hotel was located in a good location with accessibility of 2 train lines. There are good cafes, restaurants , shopping , museums just within walking distance. The concierge and staff is worth a special mention. They were very helpful, friendly and runs the property very well.
I've stayed in multiple hotels in Paris. This one is average, and on the higher side of the pricing scale. Tiny rooms -- a standard full-sized luggage (e.g., Rimowa) will bump into corners of the wall/bed if you try to open it up. A group of us went on a business trip and our travel agent had to pay different prices for each of us, and oddly, the person with the highest room rate got the smallest room while the person with the lowest rate got the largest suite. Odd system of room assignment and no help from the front desk. On that note, the staff were initially very nice, but when the aircon system broke on the first night of our stay (stuffy, high-30s Celsius temperature), the front desk staff were completely overwhelmed and unhelpful. Shrugged their shoulders and said nothing we can do. I almost slept in the lobby because there, the aircon was working. On a positive note, they agreed to comp us the entire mini-bar in the rooms, otherwise it would have been completely unbearable. Breakfast was free, which is very much appreciated, but of average quality. Disappointing coffee and croissants, considering this is Paris.
I had earlier had made a reservation at the Ibis out of town but that turned out to be such a sore disappointment that we made a fresh one online at this Waldorf and thank God for that. Didn't realize that there was more than one Waldorf in Paris city, I first landed up at the Waldorf Montparnasse. Thankfully they were extremely helpful and we were soon at the Waldorf Madeline. It was a superb location (a very important factor for all my selections during my extensive travels. Although my partner preferred to use the car but left to myself I walked to all the places I wanted to visit - Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Jewish Quarter, the Champs-Élysées, Pont Neuf and the Notre Dame Cathedral. I am 67 and if I can walk it everyone else can. Being a photographer for me you can't beat walking if it is possible. The hotel besides being so centrally located served a decent breakfast, and the room though not very large was good, comfortable and the bathroom was superb. No complaints whatsoever. The hotel has an old world charm which I love however it does look slightly run down. I think just a bit of more effort towards maintenance can fix that. This is not so much a complaint than a suggestion. HIGHLY RECOMENDED for location and friendly professional staff
This boutique hotel is right in the heart of Paris. Marc (the Concierge) was extremely helpful, showing us where to go on a map of Paris. The room was small, in fact, everything was small, including the breakfast room, however it was clean and very comfortable. We loved our stay here and would go back in a heartbeat.
We liked the hotel very much. The location is excellent and the rooms and staff were also excellent. The free breakfast was very good. The concierge was outstanding. I can highly recommend the hotel. The staff helped coordinate our tours. They also helped with internet access and calls.
My daughter has been asking to go to Paris for sometime and I tried to set up all my arrangements myself and it took a lot of my time searching and planning so My travel agent back in Chicago listened to exactly what I wanted and matched us up with Hotel Waldorf Madeleine! As well as all my other accommodations. Couldn't have done it better myself! Thank you Tara!
prefer room ending with 02, second biggest ones of each floor ! great modern and clean bathroom. Breakfast on 1st floor so you do not feel trapped, though space VERY small. Very conveniently located :-) will definitely return
Really a fine hotel with an extremely friendly and helpful staff (especially Marc, le Concierge); The rooms very big enough, very comfortable beds, everything was nice and clean. The breakfast room was a bit small and the space for the buffet also wasn't too large, but everything was fresh (including two different freshly pressed fruit juices and freshly sliced fruit salat). The location of the hotel is top, Place de la Concorde, Église de la Madeleine and Boulevard Haussmann is within walking distance and there are three different Metros in the vicinity. Would we come again? For sure!
We were fortunate enough to spend four wonderful days in this hotel. We were privileged to be upgraded and we enjoyed and appreciated every minute of it. Classy, clean and with brilliant staff. The breakfast room was very disappointing as it was way too small for what it was attempting to achieve, but overall a lovely place to stay whilst in Paris.
