+ great location just right beside St. lazar station. + walking distance to Opera + Staff very friendly and helpful + Close to Gallery La Fayette and Printemps - A bit far from Eiffel Tower. - Dated hotel and basic rooms - Bathroom extremely small - overpriced
The hotel is very old! Absolutely overpriced! The rooms are tiny and uncomfortable - very old furniture, the cupboard opens very difficult. Moreover it is very noisy due to the road (the sound are always - night, day etc). The cleaning service touch you things, change its places and can come almost without knocking! Strange place for the price! Breakfast is awful - just awful Boiled egg, not tasty not French croassant, bad coffee and tea - that's all you can expect of the breakfast!! You just do not trust to eat all the thing in such place ... The only positive thing - very polite reception !
Clean, basic small rooms in a very good location in Montmartre. Metro station only one block away. The staff at the front desk are very friendly and helpful and are there 24/7. There are a lot of restaurants nearby so we did not include breakfast at the hotel. The AC was very good, not at all noisy. Free Wifi in the room.
Stayed here for 5 nights with my mother. Guy at front desk during the day is lovely and kind, the night staff aren't so great (Michael was lovely, the other guy was uninterested and spent his time on his mobile phone). When we checked in the honored the request for a quiet room which was much appreciated (if you can, ask for a inner courtyard facing room, the street side is a very busy road and noisy and you won't want to open your windows). Bed was very comfortable, sheets and pillows standard hotel quality, bathroom was very dated with cracked and chipped tiles but kept very clean) and same goes for the room itself - worn carpeting, old bureau, literally a bed you need to shuffle around (just enough space for 2 standard size bags). Free wifi is good enough to Skype without video (good enough) but lasts only 4 days, so if you stay any longer you will need to request a new receipt - preferably when the elevator isn't broken. On that note, the elevator literally will only fit one person and two standard check in luggage bags at a time. It is often broken and the alternative is climbing up a tight spiral staircase - not for unfit or elderly travelers). Didn't eat breakfast here so cannot comment. FYI there is a patisserie across the road on the corner and Paul patisserie inside Paris St Lazare train station (ground floor). Not sure I will come back, location is great but there are plenty of other places close by with working elevators, spacious rooms, and consistent customer service (day and night)
We travelled as a couple, and booked this hotel 2 days before our trip which was for 2 nights. Despite lateness, we managed to get an excellent deal via a price saving site. It's extremely well located, very central and next to a metro station - even within a stroll of some of the main sights and pleasant areas. The rooms are basic and not large, but I rate 4 stars as it was clean, friendly and served its purpose. Ultimately, we just wanted a safe, centrally located and clean room to sleep in and this more than provides that. We were in an inwards facing room (there's a central courtyard), so we can't comment on the noise which probably would not have bothered us even if present. Ultimately the aim was to be in the city, not the countryside, and the location is excellent as mentioned. The lift was broken for our visit, and this meant 6 flights of stairs up a very narrow spiral staircase. No problem for us as we are young and mobile, but I can imagine this might have posed a problem for less mobile travellers. No doubt that issue is fixed now. Recommended.
We stayed here for 2 nights over the New Year and overall we were pleased with our experience. The hotel is in a great location close to Gare St Lazarre and metros going to all the major tourist locations easily. The man at the reception desk during the day was fantastic and provided great service, spoke good English and was very friendly. The room itself is small and once suitcases were on the ground there was hardly any room at all, it was also quite dated. Other than that, the room was clean and then bed was comfortable. The lift is also small and only one person will fit if you have bags. In essence, for the price you pay this hotel is great value for money; can't beat the location and service.
This is a middleclass hotel in the 8th arrondissement. Good reachable by car, parking nearby. So are several metro stations. Rooms were small, but I guess that's normal in Paris. Booked through Hotwire (secret location). The showerdoor that needs to keep the water from spilling all over the floor is on the wrong side of the bathtub...hahaha... Nice little breakfast, nothing special.
This hotel gets pretty good reviews here on TA, but we found a lot wanting. The rooms are very shabby, the bathrooms are teeny tiny, and you do have the feeling that you are in a very run down establishment. However, I will say that the beds and linen were clean and the breakfast was adequate. We were happy we had only booked the one night.
After having a terrible experience at Residence Ballu, we cancelled our booking and was searching for a hotel near by. And we found Opera Deauville Hotel online and booked it straight away (impressed with the price as it was cheaper than I expected). The gentleman who greeted us (Mr Ed) provided excellent customer service. He guided us with places to go using a map, whether we should walk or use public transport etc. We were giving so much information (wouldn't have managed to see most places if Mr Ed didn't provide us with so much information). He also arranged transport for us to be taken to the airport, which was for a reasonable price. Moustafa, who was also working at the reception was great help too. Most importantly... Our room was clean and our bed was very comfy. Will come back!
We spent three nights at this hotel, having chosen it from the Internet because of its location and price. It turned out to be a great choice. Mr Ed at the desk was magnificent. His English was very good and his advice was asked for on many occasions. The rooms were small, but to be expected. We also had breakfast there each morning, and it was excellent value. Martha, who ran the breakfast was also a treasure.Another big plus was the presence of a small fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. We would highly recomend this hotel.
