Booked as a special offer on Groupon and was fantastic value for money. Yes the rooms are small but ours were clean, recently decorated and looked just like the one in the TA profile. We saw no evidence of stained carpets and worn furnishings etc reported on by recent reviewers and other guests were complimentary as well, perhaps we were lucky. Very friendly and efficient reception staff. There is no bar or restaurant except the breakfast room but you are spoilt for choice with loafs of very good places all within 100 metres. And the metro is right outside. Walkable from Gard de Nord or 8 euro in a taxi. Buffet breakfast was fairly basic but good quality breads, ham, cheese, boiled eggs, cereals etc. served in a nice room that opened up into the garden where you could sit outside if you wanted to. Underground private car park Would stay again if I wanted a budget hotel
Haven't got anything bad to say about the hotel. The rooms are on the smaller side but you don't go to Paris to sit in your room. About 10 minutes walk from the train station. Lots of restaurants/takeaways in local area.
Convenient: The Metro station is just some meters away from the hotel and this made it easier to access other parts of Paris. Room: It was small but adequate for our stay. The bed and pillows were very comfy and the WiFi is really fast. When we visited Paris, it was during the winter but the hotel and the room were warm. Staff: Friendly, polite and helpful. Breakfast: Very nice dining area for breakfast and a Continental breakfast.
I’ll start off with the good.. We stayed here for 6 nights in February, and found it was really convenient as the hotel is just seconds from the metro station. There are also a few nice restaurants in the area though not much else, and I would thoroughly recommend you visit Chez Papa if staying here (lovely friendly French restaurant, the service is amazing.) However I did find the Louis Blanc area a bit rough. The reception area of the hotel was clean and modern, as was the breakfast area. We found breakfast to be substantial (croissants, cheese and meats, cereal, eggs - although you have to boil them yourself, coffee and tea, juice, breads, fruit, etc.). I also found the free WiFi to be really fast and came in helpful. We were really shocked however at the state of our room, which looked nothing like the pictures. Our room was tiny and the carpet was filthy and stained (see pictures). I didn’t feel I was able to walk around the room in bare feet. There was only one plug socket in the whole room which I found odd (I had to unplug the kettle so I was able to charge my phone, and we had to take turns on charging our devices because of this). There was also no safe and no fridge. The bathroom didn’t have a proper door - it had a sliding door but this did not slide all the way shut, so you could see into the bathroom when the bathroom door was ‘closed’ because of a huge gap - I found this really unusual. There was no lock on the bathroom door either. I guess it depends who you are staying with but I would have preferred a little more privacy. Paris was very cold when we visited and the hotel was nice and warm, and there was a heating system in our room which really helped. The hotel also provided us with an extra blanket we’d asked for, and the service throughout our stay was friendly and polite. Overall it wasn’t entirely bad but I wouldn’t stay again.
I love this place, it was such a nice quaint hotel and the staff were amazing! This was my first trip to Paris, in fact my first trip out of the United States. We booked our trip through groupon and this was the hotel that came in the package. My boyfriend and I were nervous at first because of the language barrier, but everyone was super nice and tried their best to help us out, most of the staff did speak english. Our room was small but very nice and clean, with a view of the garden. Towels and toiletries were found in the bathroom, new ones each day. The bed and pillows were very comfy and the room itself just felt cozy. Breakfast was included everyday and it was delicious. The crescents are to die for! They had a mix of bread, fruit, meats and cheeses. It definitely was a great way to start each day. I must do a shout out to the staff here cause they made something magical happen. On the first day, my boyfriend and I went to the Eiffel tower, and he proposed and I said yes! My sister called up the hotel and made plans with the staff to sneak in a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates and a note from her. When we first got in, the lady at the desk told us when we leave the hotel to leave the hotel key at the desk, as per their policy. We thought it was weird but agreed and went on our way. ( she already planned with my sister and wanted to make sure we were not in the room when the flowers were delivered) When we came back that night after he proposed, we got our key and found the flowers and candy in our room! Such a great surprise and the staff did a wonderful job and keeping it all a secret! We stayed here for 4 nights and the only complaint we had is that the walls are very thin, so you can hear people in the hallway or next door. That is it, everything else is superb! I would definitely come back and I highly recommend this place! I love it and the staff! I can't wait for my next trip here!
hotel reception and main area clean and modern . rooms are basic , bed linen and towels clean but carpets are filthy and covered in stains . the hotel welcomes pets so good for some but not your average traveller . nice warm hotel which was needed in February . The hotel offers a self service cold breakfast . we had once but at 12 euros each we decided it was not worth the money and went to a little French café opposite and paid 17 euros for 4 of us !! plenty of restaurants nearby . Chez Papa is a must . also close to metro and station . we used uber a lot to get around . would I use again ? probably not . I would like somewhere where at least you can have a drink not from a vending machine
We stayed at The Louis Blanc over Christmas and found it as excellent as other reviewers have said. Some rooms are small - and some are very small - but they are crisp and clean. The Metro station is just 50 metres from the front door and you can be in the city centre in just a few minutes. An interesting challenge at breakfast - the eggs on display are raw and you are invited to place yours in a communal container of boiling water - then when you decide how long it has been cooking you take it out again. But there is every chance that by now you do not know which is yours, or how long it has been in the pot - ten seconds or ten minutes. You could end up with a very raw or very hardboiled egg. We never did work out the answer to this one.
Stayed here for 2 nights and it was exactly what I wanted. Opposite metro, clean, very comfortable bed, excellent continental breakfast and cosy room - it was December! The room was small, but more than adequate for a short stay and the carpets are a bit grubby but, for a sight-seeing base for the money we paid, it was great. The staff were helpful and provided advice whenever we asked for it. Not an upmarket part of Paris, but I personally like seeing 'real life' as well as tourist attractions. Well done Louis Blanc and Merry Christmas!
I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Everyone was friendly it was very clean and in great shape. The breakfast was good but if you want a big hot breakfast you won't be happy. Our room was spotless but very small. My only issues with this hotel would be the amount of ambulances that go by all night and although across the street from the metro it still took 20-to 30 minutes to get to most things.
I recently stayed at the Paris Louis Blanc with my son and 4 of his friends. This is a budget friendly hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly. The rooms were small but very well kept, they served the intended purpose as we were out and about all day and only were at the rooms for sleep. The hotel puts out a wonderful varied breakfast...even baking fresh goods each morning. It is located in a great spot to take the Metro with a smaller station right across the street and a larger multi line stop just a few short blocks away. The hotel does not have a restaurant or bar within. However there is plenty to eat in the neighborhood, a couple French restaurants, several Turkish and even an Italian restaurant that serves good pizza and pasta if you need a late night meal after a long day of sightseeing. A bar located across the street if you are looking for a cocktail was lively and fun. A market is located around the corner with anything you may need. Overall a good stay, I would do it again if my intentions were the same....this was a good choice comfortable and located perfectly for us.
