Good budget hotel. Fine location, close to the subway and railway station. Hotel rooms were clean, Breakfast was a bit crowded the first day (probably hotel fully booked) And if you need a parking space make sure to place a reservation. Hotel room is small but you wont spend much time in the hotel usually when visiting Paris. Our room was located facing the patio.
Very convenient for Eurostar. Very friendly staff and clean hotel. The provision of a kettle with teas,ad coffees was very welcome. There are many eateries nearby and a,supermarket just round the corner.
we checked in for a 5 night stay in April. we went to the room and dropped of our luggage and turned on the air conditioning. We then left for the evening returning about 10PM. The room was extremely hot. the air was not working. Went to the desk and the staff member berated us that we should have changed the room earlier. He said just open the window--- no way the street is busy and noisy. After a long heated discussion he switched our room. The staff in general is not very friendly. They did not even acknowledge me when I would come and go and I would say hello. Breakfast is very expensive. 12Euro/person with no real hot food. We had bakery goods from a shop just a few doors away that were fresh and delicious There is also a mcDonalds by the canal about a block away. You can get egg McMuffin and coffee for 2.50 Euro. The hotel has great access to the Louis Blanc metro station which is right across the street and is only about 7 minutes by bus from Gare du Nord station for the Eurostar In my opinion this hotel was not very clean either. the carpets were worn and dirty although the room was small and sheets and towels were clean the carpet was fitlhy.. I would not stay here again.
The hotel is clean and well located a word of warning to not get street view rooms very noisy. Air con was not working fully room was really warm. Sleeping that was a laugh a couple of hrs at best pillows way to soft bed was ok. No English tv apart from news. Lots of police cars and ambulances drive past all day and night. Rooms are on the small side tea making facilities only could do more 2tea bags and 2 milk worst I’ve seen in a long while. There is a fruit shop restaurants supermarket round the corner McDonald’s around 5 to 10mins walk. Breakfast is ok but limited it’s a budget hotel but very convenient 10 mins walk to guard de nor. Would have been better if we moved rooms but a nice couple of days lovely hot weather
Whilst we knew what to expect on arrival, it was different to what we expected. First of all, the positives. The hotel was clean, well kept, and the staff were (mostly) friendly. I say mostly as there were a few times we felt as though a few members of staff were a tad rude at times. However, we got on with it. The hotel served us breakfast every morning and it was varied and tasty, no complaints there. The location was far from most of the tourist sites however it was easy to grab a metro and I would encourage others to use this when in Paris as it is cheap and effective. However, on the down side, the rooms should all have a safe in them, as I did not feel safe leaving my valuables in the room unattended. Also, the carpets in the hotel needed replaced, and the shower in our room was not the best looking. Additionally, they did not alert us of the city tax we had to pay on departure. It was known to us as we had read up on it previously, bout could catch other guests out. I would advise alerting guests of this on check-in. Overall it was a good stay, but with these few adjustments it could be excellent.
Booked as a special offer on Groupon and was fantastic value for money. Yes the rooms are small but ours were clean, recently decorated and looked just like the one in the TA profile. We saw no evidence of stained carpets and worn furnishings etc reported on by recent reviewers and other guests were complimentary as well, perhaps we were lucky. Very friendly and efficient reception staff. There is no bar or restaurant except the breakfast room but you are spoilt for choice with loafs of very good places all within 100 metres. And the metro is right outside. Walkable from Gard de Nord or 8 euro in a taxi. Buffet breakfast was fairly basic but good quality breads, ham, cheese, boiled eggs, cereals etc. served in a nice room that opened up into the garden where you could sit outside if you wanted to. Underground private car park Would stay again if I wanted a budget hotel
Haven't got anything bad to say about the hotel. The rooms are on the smaller side but you don't go to Paris to sit in your room. About 10 minutes walk from the train station. Lots of restaurants/takeaways in local area.
Convenient: The Metro station is just some meters away from the hotel and this made it easier to access other parts of Paris. Room: It was small but adequate for our stay. The bed and pillows were very comfy and the WiFi is really fast. When we visited Paris, it was during the winter but the hotel and the room were warm. Staff: Friendly, polite and helpful. Breakfast: Very nice dining area for breakfast and a Continental breakfast.
I’ll start off with the good.. We stayed here for 6 nights in February, and found it was really convenient as the hotel is just seconds from the metro station. There are also a few nice restaurants in the area though not much else, and I would thoroughly recommend you visit Chez Papa if staying here (lovely friendly French restaurant, the service is amazing.) However I did find the Louis Blanc area a bit rough. The reception area of the hotel was clean and modern, as was the breakfast area. We found breakfast to be substantial (croissants, cheese and meats, cereal, eggs - although you have to boil them yourself, coffee and tea, juice, breads, fruit, etc.). I also found the free WiFi to be really fast and came in helpful. We were really shocked however at the state of our room, which looked nothing like the pictures. Our room was tiny and the carpet was filthy and stained (see pictures). I didn’t feel I was able to walk around the room in bare feet. There was only one plug socket in the whole room which I found odd (I had to unplug the kettle so I was able to charge my phone, and we had to take turns on charging our devices because of this). There was also no safe and no fridge. The bathroom didn’t have a proper door - it had a sliding door but this did not slide all the way shut, so you could see into the bathroom when the bathroom door was ‘closed’ because of a huge gap - I found this really unusual. There was no lock on the bathroom door either. I guess it depends who you are staying with but I would have preferred a little more privacy. Paris was very cold when we visited and the hotel was nice and warm, and there was a heating system in our room which really helped. The hotel also provided us with an extra blanket we’d asked for, and the service throughout our stay was friendly and polite. Overall it wasn’t entirely bad but I wouldn’t stay again.
I love this place, it was such a nice quaint hotel and the staff were amazing! This was my first trip to Paris, in fact my first trip out of the United States. We booked our trip through groupon and this was the hotel that came in the package. My boyfriend and I were nervous at first because of the language barrier, but everyone was super nice and tried their best to help us out, most of the staff did speak english. Our room was small but very nice and clean, with a view of the garden. Towels and toiletries were found in the bathroom, new ones each day. The bed and pillows were very comfy and the room itself just felt cozy. Breakfast was included everyday and it was delicious. The crescents are to die for! They had a mix of bread, fruit, meats and cheeses. It definitely was a great way to start each day. I must do a shout out to the staff here cause they made something magical happen. On the first day, my boyfriend and I went to the Eiffel tower, and he proposed and I said yes! My sister called up the hotel and made plans with the staff to sneak in a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates and a note from her. When we first got in, the lady at the desk told us when we leave the hotel to leave the hotel key at the desk, as per their policy. We thought it was weird but agreed and went on our way. ( she already planned with my sister and wanted to make sure we were not in the room when the flowers were delivered) When we came back that night after he proposed, we got our key and found the flowers and candy in our room! Such a great surprise and the staff did a wonderful job and keeping it all a secret! We stayed here for 4 nights and the only complaint we had is that the walls are very thin, so you can hear people in the hallway or next door. That is it, everything else is superb! I would definitely come back and I highly recommend this place! I love it and the staff! I can't wait for my next trip here!
