Quaint hotel close to river, metro station and many attractions. Rooms typical for paris. Staff pleasant and helpful Stayed here twice and enjoyed it both times. there is a wonderful bakery nearby to enjoy a cafe and croissant1
I recently spent 10 nights staying at this gorgeous hotel in the first arrondisement. I can honestly say I have no complaints whatsoever. The location is central to so many sights-Paris is a very walkable city. The hotel offers air con,a lift & free wifi-not a lot of hotels in Europe do. The room was very comfortable & well appointed-the bed was very comfy. The bathroom was spotlessly cleaned daily. And the staff were all very friendly & very helpful & spoke English-which was handy as my French is very limited, If I ever get the chance to get back to Paris again I will definitely stay here again. Thanks to everyone there for making for first trip to Europe so wonderful.
It was dreadful and I would not stay again. Rooms were small but adequate. Shower was “moderne” without a door resulting in daily floods. Location is underwhelming particularly as the theater next door is under construction. But it was the staff that made this place awful, a remarkable combination of stupid, rude and indifferent. One woman refused to help with a call for dinner reservation, another man could not bring himself to say “good morning” but could screw up our bill and run after us for the price of three stamps he forgot to add. Any more .... e.g. don’t!
We wanted to take our kids on their first trip to Paris and this was one of the only hotels which had inter-connecting rooms. We did book on that basis but, knowing the city well, could see that it was in a great location - every major site bar the Eiffel tower within easy walking distance. The hotel did not disappoint; the rooms are definitely small but are very luxurious and well equipped - including air con. The staff were great and were very happy to help with storing luggage before we could check in etc. There are great restaurants within 100 yards of the hotel - we ate at a stone's throw four nights running and there were still places we wanted to try. I do agree about breakfast though - there is a fantastic boulangerie just around the corner so I would definitely suggest going out. Having stayed at many hotels in Paris before, at both ends of the price spectrum, I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
This hotel is in an excellent area. Very centrally located, yet on a street that was not busy. We often enjoyed a neighboring cafe for a glass of wine after a long day touring Paris. The rooms were small but clean. The $14Euro breakfast was very convenient. Having someone at the front desk 24/7 was a nice feature. Nichole was always very pleasant whenever we saw her. The hotel is also very close to one of the major transit hubs “Chatelet”. It is about ¾ of a block away. #1 Paris recommendation is to buy the museum pass. Great deal and we skipped a lot of lines.
I have been to Paris before and this trip was for one night as a quick 24 hour layover. This hotel is centrally located and if you enjoy walking most things are within a walking distance. Breakfast was good and the rooms were quite spacious for a hotel in Paris. Now the bad. We saw someone get mugged not 50 meters from the hotel entrance! When we said something to the front desk they simply shrugged and did not seem to care. That was not a comforting feeling or something that made us feel safe. From the hundreds of hotels I have stayed in this place has to receive the lowest stars for the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The lady was rude at checkin, you have to leave your key when you leave the hotel and wait for someone when you get back if no one is at the front desk to be allowed in your room (an absolute pain). The front desk was absolutely no help in recommending restaurants, and their knowledge of the area was worse than mine (not sure how this was possible, I had to correct their directions) and just not pleasant to deal with. The only reason I am giving this hotel 2 stars is because the rooms were nice.
We stayed 4 nights in the grand old hotel. It was a great location near the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Seine and Ile de la Cite. Our room was on the 5th floor with a small balcony and a view of the Eiffel Tower! The room was elegant with updated bathroom with a tub, minibar, safe, flat screen TV. There was even a bowl of fresh fruit and a knife to cut it! The lounge on the ground floor had big, comfy chairs, a computer and books to read. The staff was excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. There was a metro station in the same block. A perfect location for exploring Paris by foot and metro.
Stayed for 5 nights and couldn't be more happier of our decision. Hotel is cozy. Stuff very helpful and welcoming. Location is fantastic. Close to everywhere by foot. Bus and metro station within few steps. Will definitely stay again.
This was our second family stay here. Our room was just off the lobby, meaning the door to our room was 15-20 feet from the front desk. That said, for the most part we weren't bothered by noise from the lobby. When we did hear noise it was either from the room next door, thru the thin walls, or from housekeeping banging around. The room was quaint, meaning after we got the luggage in the room, there wasn't much room for us. The view consisted of plants and air conditioning units. If red is your color, this is your hotel as red is the main color of the décor. I'm not sure if they like this color and décor or they think foreigners expect it but it is used throughout the hotel. We didn't partake of the petit dejeuner since there is a great little place around the corner. Yes, it does sound like I didn't like the place but I would probably return. The desk staff is top notch and the room is clean and do-able. After all is said, it is quaint and not a Best Western hotel, which overall is a good thing.
The location is so central to major sightseeing destinations and metro stops. Cafe's, pastry shops and shopping abound in this area. The romantic Seine River is stumbling distance away. The Staff were terrific.
