Really helpfull staff. All the info about how to get to my hotel was om my phone, and when my battery died, i got so stressed i even forgot the name of it... Luckily they let my stay om the lobby and charge my phone. They also printed me a helpfull map
There are lots of reasons to love this hotel, including its superb location and reasonable price, but I must also commend the wonderful staff at the front desk. When I left my new iPhone in a taxi, I was distraught. My wife and I returned to the hotel, and Sonia called my phone which was answered by the taxi driver. Sonia quickly arranged for the driver to return the phone to me at the hotel, and I was thrilled to receive it. All the other front desk staff were equally accommodating, including Davod who made restaurant reservations for us.
Everything positive I read on Trip Advisor turned out to be true - it looks and feels gorgeous inside. Fantastic, polite and helpful young man on reception when I checked in. Unique, quaint, cosy and yes small compact rooms. However decorated cleverly and comfortably and a location that is fabulous. Shops, brasseries and cafes on the doorstep and across the bridge is the Cathedral of Notre Dame. I’d choose this hotel for business or for a romantic break. Excellent value for money.
Small well run hotel conveniently located. Clean, inexpensive, old fashioned in a good way. Nice breakfast buffet. One little elevator. Nice helpful staff. No tub just shower. King size beds. No views from rooms.
This is truly a gem of a hotel. Excellent location, a short walking distance to key sites. Easy access to the Latin Quarter, la Marais and the Louvre. The metro is 1 block away, and the Seine is one block away as well. Rooms are small but meet the needs of anyone who is out much of the day. Clean, mini fridge, wonderful staff at the front desk, and they have umbrellas for patrons should it rain as well as adaptors for electronics. Although they do serve breakfast for an additional fee, I would strongly recommend the boulangerie around the corner. Would definitely return to this hotel.
We'd had some bad luck with an earlier well-reviewed hotel we'd booked online and were a bit nervous about this one. However, from the second we walked in the door, we were thrilled with the boutique feel and the friendly staff. The room itself ended up being so much more than we could have hoped for on an anniversary trip! Everyone from front desk clerks to cleaning staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was quite large and well appointed by European standards. The bed was very comfortable and while the bathroom was small with only a shower, it was perfect for our needs. Plenty of storage space for our 3 bags in the closet, and the room included a safe that for some reason didn't seem to be bolted down to anything, which was slightly concerning to us. The hotel seemed to be in a safe area and we felt very comfortable walking around, although we didn't stay out in the evenings. Since we speak very little french, we opted to eat breakfast at the hotel, and while there were multiple offerings that would suit a variety of travelers, it didn't seem to be a good value for the price. Plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby with metro stops just steps away. Close to Notre Dame and well-situated to many of the spectacular sights of Paris. We would definitely stay here again.
My wife and I took our 8 year twins to Paris in September 2017 and stayed at this gem of a hotel. The location is simply fantastic. No more than a ten minute walk to various key sites - the Notre Dam, Louvre and Pompidou. The hotel suite for families is splendid. The room was obviously relatively small as most central Paris hotels are. But it was very comfortable and clean. What my wife and I (and my children) particularly liked about it was the fact it was two rooms with two entry doors behind a further door. My children stayed in one room and we in another. My children liked the fact they had their own space. As with any city break you don't spend much time in your room. However, it was very comfortable and the tv offered a good range of channels - including BBC1. The beds were comfortable. The staff were always very warm, friendly and helpful. Oh and the hotel was very quiet - yet was only a stone's throw from very busy parts of Paris. I will be taking my family back there again for sure.
No matter what you want to get from your trip to Paris, this is the place you want to be in. It's a fantastic hub for all of the top tourist sites, with Notre Dame and Hotel De Ville literally steps from the hotel. Beyond that it is in a super hip area, with tons of great bars and cafes to hang out in and just soak up the joie de vivre. If you are feeling particularly lazy you don't even need to leave the street - there's a great bar directly across from the hotel and the Bar a Manger at the end of the street is wonderful. Most importantly your Parisian cafe and croissant breakfast are merely a right turn away. Also to note, you can get the train (RET B) directly from the airport to here (Chatelet les Halles) for ultimate convenience. I have to mention too the wonderful staff, who were incredibly helpful and friendly. And of course the beautiful room decor. The rooms themselves were quite spacious by Paris standards and the bed was extremely comfy. Cannot recommend this place enough to anyone heading to Paris. Enjoy!
Location is a top plus for this hotel--but not the only positive factor. Easy walks to the Seine, Notre Dame, St. Chappelle, the Louvre and Tuileries, the Musee d"Orsay, the Latin Quarter and the two most famed jazz clubs in Paris. Skip the hotel breakfast and stop at the Paris Baguette boulangerie around the corner. I like small intimate hotels; not everyone does. The Hotel Britannique fit the bill. The elevator holds three if everyone holds their breath. The decor is genuinely charming. Sometimes I met other guests for brief conversations. Sleep quality was superb. You can really sink into those beds. The rooms are sound-proofed, and I didn't hear a peep when a noisy singing crowd serenaded The Last Bar Before the End of the World across the street. Bathrooms are spotless and convenient. Staff care is genuinely excellent and responsive. The cleaners realized I couldn't reach the clothesline in the shower; not only did they extend it for me, but they also rehung my clothes for me! They understood that I hated hospital corners and needed way more coffee than the average visitor! Three things could be improved: 1. The bathroom lacks a fan, so expect to exit the shower into a steamy room. 2. Makeup lighting leaves a lot to be desired. 3. The one day I asked for a wake-up call to get to the airport for a morning flight, the night manager overslept. Set your phone for several alarms if you need to wake extra early.
We spent three nights in August 2017 and were very happy with the hotel. Room was small (superior double) but had strong A/C, fast internet and the bathroom had a good size. Front desk staff was super friendly, helpful and spoke very good English. They even lent us umbrellas free of charge! Would definitely stay there again.
