Hotel staff are lovely and helpful but the rooms are not great. Very dark only lit by 2 lamps, no central light and no light at dressing table or even a mirror? The shower room was very compact and to get to the toilet you have to squeeze in sideways between the sink and a ridiculous and unnecessary wall. A slightly larger than average person would really struggle. The shower although powerful and hot is very sad and in need of re-grouting as it is mostly black! We opened the curtains to let light in and the pole fell off. Next day tried to open the window to get a little fresh air and the pole fell off again reception apologised but maintenance were not due until the next day? Fridge safe hairdryer are all in the room but no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. There's complimentary tea and coffee available downstairs but only after 11am unless you want to pay €14 for continental breakfast. Very noisy rooms not good for light sleepers, can clearly hear peoples conversations in next rooms, the toilet trips in the rooms above and people walking up and down the stairs. On the plus side comfy clean bed and great location for Mont Matre and the Sacre Coeur. Metro is only a 5minute walk away so easy to get around. Lots of shops and bars and restaurants very close by highly recommend Le Gabin very friendly and delicious food. We will definitely be going back there.
Apart from the tiniest lift in the world (LOL), our stay here was nothing short of superb. Fantastic service, and being in the heart of Mont Martre was the icing on the cake. So close to everything you image Paris to be, the history, the vibrancy, street artists, fabulous cafes bars and restaurants, you name it, we found it.
Okay so I've now stayed in 3 hotels in Europe in the past few weeks, so I feel it's safe for me to weigh in on this place. I travelled alone, so I rented the smallest room (101 on the first floor). Pros: Very friendly, helpful, nice staff! Concierge (I spoke with 4 different ones in passing) were all so very nice and friendly. Awesome guys and girls. Cleaning staff also greeted me in passing, lovely people. The bed is about a double in size, very comfortable. Nice pillows and bedding as well. No bugs, trust me I looked long and hard. Not so good: Wow my room was tiny. Literally none of the pictures look like my room. I understand, I rented the smallest room for one person, but I could probably fit that entire hotel room into my bathroom in my current Barcelona hotel. The bathroom was so tiny, if I sit on the toilet I don't think I could close the bathroom door shut. And I'm a small (5'6'', 168cm tall) person! I felt cramped, and I lived in Asia before! Shower was intermittent hot and cold, and the handle would not be held up (just kept falling down, so you have to hold it up while you wash yourself). Carpet was gross. Looks like it had burns(?) or just old and ragged. Didn't even want to take my shoes off. Other stuff : close to 2 subway stations, less than 5 minutes walk. Close to big church at the top of the hill, some grocery shopping, etc. The area isn't the greatest, but it is safe and good to get places quickly. Arrived at gare du Nord by train and actually walked (could have taken subway), took about 20 minutes. Some decent restaurants nearby, but remember to make reservations! It was acceptable to me, but I really thought I'd be getting a higher standard. Would not return. Ultimately, you want to explore the city, and so hotel room shouldn't be a huge factor, but this one really was below par I think. 3 stars for great staff and being in close proximity to transit.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Boronali. We wanted a hotel in Montmartre near Sacré-Cœur with a price of under $100 USD per night and Hotel Boronali was the perfect fit. The hotel is a “boutique” hotel and as such is small and homey, not grand in any way. The woman who greeted us upon check-in spoke great English and was very friendly and helpful, as was all of the staff that we met. We got two rooms and both were very nice, modern and quite roomy. The beds were perfect with good, firm mattresses, nice bedclothes, good pillows. The bathroom was tiny with only a shower, but the shower had good pressure and was large enough to be comfortable. There’s a tiny elevator, which is a trip, but worked well for getting our bags upstairs to the 4th floor. The hallways could use some updating, but you’re in an old building, so I am forgiving on that point. The only thing keeping me from giving this 4 stars (I reserve 5 stars for exceptional hotels and this, while good and serviceable, is not exceptional), is the fact that the rooms are totally inadequate when it comes to electrical outlets. They need to have some power strips or something because there were only 2 single outlets in the room that we could use. Wifi was very spotty. Overall, we really liked staying at Hotel Boronali, would recommend it and would stay there again.
i just completed a lovely stay at the Hotel Boronali. As other reviews have stated, the entire hotel staff is friendly and extremely helpful. The room, while small, was clean and comfortable. The dining room/lounge area is attractive and a pleasant space to take breakfast or have a coffee. As a single woman traveling solo, I felt safe in the area.
I stayed at this hotel from the 12-13th September with my partner The staff are amazing you get a warm feeling you enter the hotel I was impressed with the rooms clean and accommodating The hotel is a goose step away from the sacre coeur and the metro I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to stay in Paris Thanks Arthur ( The Manager) and his team for a wonderful experience
I cannot recommend this hotel high enough, yes it is small and the lift is tiny; however, the service is above and beyond anything you would find in a 5* hotel. The reception staff saw to our every need and were so patient and kind. The hotel is inexpensive and provides free coffee and pastries after breakfast time. The room is small but functional with a good shower. Thank you Hotel Boronali!!
I stayed in Hôtel Boronali with my 11-year-old son from July 14 until July 19, 2017. In all, our stay in this hotel was pleasant and easy. I had requested a room on the higher floors beforehand, and we got the room on the 5th floor. True, the room was quite small but it didn't bother us at all (in fact, I guess the rooms in the French boutique hotels are quite small in general), and the window gave to the tiny inner yard, which caused there not being any kind of bothering noice whatsoever during our stay. The room was cleaned every day, the towels were changed daily, the beds were comfy and I liked the general interior of the room. The hotel staff was very friendly and we got good service at the reception as well as at breakfast and from housekeeping. The location of the hotel was just 10mins walk from the cathedral Sacré-Cœur and even though I was travelling alone with a child we never faced any problems in the area. The elevator at the hotel was tiny but it didn't really bother us. I could think about staying again in Hôtel Boronali, solo or with my son. I would love to see their bigger room, because in the pictures it looks very nice. Personally I prefer smaller boutique hotels like Boronali to bigger chain hotels, I love the atmosphere much much more at the hotels like Boronali. Thank you again for the hotel staff for making us feel so welcomed!
I would definitely not book this Hotel again it is a shoe box tiny tiny bathroom no kettle in the room but coffee downstairs empty fridge very hot in the room we stayed in room 105 noisy all day and night and only a tiny fsn to circulate the air never ever again don't do it.
As a senior and first time visitor to Paris France I enjoyed the experience of traveling alone. I would recommend this hotel if you are on a long journey and low budget. The service is great! It was not the cleanest hotel but the ambiance is an asset.
