Romantic short break had a truly lovely short break to Paris euro star from Ashford no delays plenty of time to viset many parts of city in weekend good to get hop on hop off bus but time tables change in year so to get moneys worth in winter be awere!!
We travelled as a family to Paris for a weekend and booked this hotel based on other recommendations. We stayed at the hotel for two nights spread over two rooms. I had requested a cot bed for my son and was told on arrival they could not guarantee this - luckily the bed in our room was against a wall on one side but if we’d stayed in my parents room, it would’ve prevented a safety issue but that was the only negative. The location was great - about 15 mins from the Luxembourg gardens; 5-10 mins from Notre Dame and 50mins to the Eiffel Tower. There were also some lovely restaurants nearby - the pizzeria was delicious and the staff were very friendly. The room was very clean and the bathroom looked new. The bed was comfy and the room, helpfully, had a small fridge which came in handy. I understand some of the negative reviews about space, particularly if you were staying as part of a longer trip as there was only small hanging space for clothes and limited room for a large suitcase but most European hotel rooms aren’t huge so it comes with the territory. The staff on reception were very helpful with recommendations for places to visit and booking taxis. They also allowed us to securely store our stroller downstairs rather than cluttering up the room. I would certainly consider booking to stay at this hotel again when we next visit Paris.
We chose the hotel for its proximity to the Sorbonne, where I was due to defend my thesis. The hotel has an excellent location, at the very heart of the Latin Quarter, not far from the intersection of the Boulevard Saint Germain and Boulevard Saint Michel. On the day of the defense, I needed to print out around 30 pages, and I wasn't so sure where to go to get my documents printed. Although the hotel does not usually print out so many papers, the friendly front office staff Amandine printed them out for me, saving me a lot of time and stress on my D-Day. Amandine's help was invaluable prior my defense. Thank you Amandine!
Beautiful hotel in a beautiful city. We are, sadly, very not French but the staff was kind, patient and helpful. Our rooms were perfect with views of Notre Dame out one and the Eiffel Tower out the other. If we come to Paris again this is where we will come.
We stayed here for 3 nights, great hotel! The room was much bigger than we expected (since most European hotel rooms are small) - great amenities, fantastic location! Less than 10 Min walk to Notre Dame, similar distance to public transport, and we could see the top of the Pantheon through our window. Would definitely return.
Hotel location is very convenient for everywhere, both by metro and bas. All of staffs I met were very friendly and kind, also spoke English very well. It must be old builiding so room wasn't huge, and hot water facility was poor. But I'm satisfied a lot.
This hotel was excellent - the location was fantastic and so close to everything. Our rooms were immaculate and had everything we needed, comfy beds, great showers and even a Nespresso machine. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choices and all the staff in the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful and we had a wonderful week.
We absolutely loved this Mercure located one block off of Boulevard St. Germain! We could walk so many favorite spots, and bus, métro, and RER are very close. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the Privilege room we had reserved through Accor was wonderful! The balcony style window gave a view of St. Germain, the room was spacious for a central Paris hotel, and the bathroom was large with a wonderful tub and shower! I wish our budget allowed for us to stay hear on every visit to Paris, but alas...
The hotel's staff are very helpful and eficient. The breakfast is very nice offering a large selection of products. Some fresh vegetables would have made it perfect. And obviously the hotel is ideally located next to the Sorbonne, the Latin quarter, Notre Dam etc. However, as in most Paris hotels the room (termed for some reason "Privilage Double Room") is extremely small and crowded. There is no real desk to speak of. No shelves or drawers in the cardboard, only a garment hanging bar and an oversized and mostly empty mini bar. The esspresso machine, coffee and tea are a nice perk. The bathroom definitely takes the first prize for miniature size. In addition to its matchbox dimensions, one of its wall inclines sharply in. The toilet is next to that wall and to avoid injury when you use the toilet, one should posses the skills and the flexibility of an olympic acrobat. The hotel's elevator has a capacity of 4 persons. However for 2, not very owerwight passengers, riding the elevator requires inhaling very deeply. Taking your luggage with you requires even more complicated pulmonary manouvers. All the above hardly conform to a 4 star rating
This hotel is located at the heart of the capital. Therefore, it is at proximity of most of tourist attractions. The hotel meets 4* standards, yet the rooms are small but they are cosy. The hotel staff are professional and welcoming. As result, I would recommend this hotel to couples or small families visiting the capital.
