Extremely small Hotel rooms, we actually found it difficult to manoeuvre around. The location is ideal for Notre Dame, Restaurants and a shopping strip only a short stroll away. Fine for a one night stay, but would not stay any longer due to the uncomfortable tiny accommodation.
This is my favorite area to stay. It’s near Cluny museum, Notre Dame, St Chapelle, and Shakespeare and Co. so the hotel is worth it for just that. However, the room is very small, especially for two people. The shower is also tiny but the water is nice and hot. A few annoyances-our mini fridge stopped working twice and had to be swapped out. A few time, they forgot to replace cups, coffee packets,... and were slow to bring them up even when I said we were having lunch in our room and offered to get them from downstairs. Only one of the staff seemed to know anything about the tour brochures displayed in the lobby. Another desk person seemed very unsure about any request and had to ask for help. All in all, I would stay there again, just because of the location. But I don’t expect much in terms of a hotel experience.
Ideal location, excellent clean hotel with good facilities. Well positioned for several public transport options, Metro, RER & Bus. The Staff were polite & friendly and they delivered attentive service.
Most impressive aspect of this hotel was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff - meaning front desk. The hotel itself has quirks and the breakfast is nothing to write home about, but the Mecure team was exceptional.
This was a very centrally located hotel with excellent amenities. The room was tiny but very functional with a good bed, coffee-maker, safe, etc. The bathroom could be a tight fit for anyone over 6 ft or 200+ pounds!
Located on the corner of the Rue St Jacque and Summerard. Boulevard St. Germain is one block north and another block brings you to the Seine, where to the right is the famous Shakespeare and Co bookstore. Turn left on St. Germain and you find the Cluny-Sorbonne Metro Station. Continue to the end of the block to enter for the ticket booth and the RER connection which takes you to Charles De Gaul Airport for 10.50 Euro. Behind the hotel is the Cluny Museum. Across the river is Notre Dame. Plenty of restaurants and shops in area and more one block west at the Boulevard San Michel. This is the Latin Quarter with plenty of students and tourists. Great location. Door to lobby closed at night. Button to open or clerk does it for you. Front desk person was friendly. Breakfast was an extra charge, 17E per person. We found much cheaper breakfasts nearby. Tiny elevator. We had room 43 on the 4th floor up. Hallways narrow. We booked a “Privileged Room.” I had hoped that meant more room and maybe a chair or couch. No. The privilege was a coffee maker. Bathroom had a solid door at the end of the room. Small desk. Large t.v. but basically no where to sit except in bed. Two windows overlooked the Rue St. Jacque but it was hard to get to them because of lamps in the way. We went out every morning until 1:00 p.m. or so, then came back to room but room was not cleaned by then. They did not clean it until the afternoon.
I enjoyed my brief stay at this hotel. The location couldn't be better! It is literally steps from the RER to CDG. The metro is also quite close. My room had exposed beams; tastefully appointed; and had all the necessary amenities. The breakfast was good. Wi-Fi worked well. I would definitely stay here again.
This hotel is quite centrally located in Paris. Everything is close by from here. Notre dam has many ancient structures, food street and bars that are open till 5AM in the morning, all within a 5 - 10 min walk distance. I loved this location because even other tourist spots parts of paris were easily accessible with an uber under 18EUR (if you dont want to take the public transports). We were a group of 6, so taking an uber van for 20EUR seemed more comfy and cheaper. More than anything, I just loved the location. Almost every night we were chilling in these food street and bars after 11PM and walked back to the hotel in the early hours. Notre dam is also considered quite safe even for late night strolling as there is always a lot of security and the local police station is 5 mins away from the hotel. Notre dam also has a simple and cute shopping street where all your necessity and shopping needs can be satisfied. Even the Evening Non Stop Cruise boat through Paris on the river is accessible in 5 mins. However, the hotel is quite small and the rooms too. So, if you are a slightly large person put an early request for a larger bed and room. The hotel elevators and corridors are so small that you cant pull your baggage alongside you, but, drag it behind you and then enter your room. There is no english channel except for BBC news, probably they should keep at least some english movie channels, sitcom channels and comedy channels. The breakfast is served in the basement, which is small but wonderfully done, simple and classy. The breakfast buffet spread is typical Western which I adore. So, my breakfasts were scrumptious, healthy and satisfying.
First I need to make clear, I LOVE Paris and the Parisians and have visited 3 times in less than 9 months, all amazing weekends.... UNTIL NOW... The location of this Mercure is perfect, a stones throw from Notre Dame, and a nice walk to any of the main hot spots. Comfy bed, slept very well & a nice shower... it's a shame that's all the good I can say. Supplies not replenished in the bathroom, shower gel empty from day one ... we had to request an additional few coffee pods and were charged €2 a pod !!!! Seriously almost the same Price as a box of 10 in the U.K. Quite frankly the kitchen & cleaning staff all need to be sacked !!!! Spending more time stood in the kitchen on their phones rather than making sure people are looked after and food replenished. Maybe even welcoming the guests !!! An amazing attitude "I'm really sorry but you've run out of bacon" met with a huge lump of meat shoved in a microwave and deposited pretty much uncooked a few moments later !!!! The same attitude and lack of service 3 mornings in a row, until our final morning ... and a COCKROACH falling out of the hand dryer in the bathroom NEXT TO THE KITCHEN !!!!!!!!!!! I made no real fuss at reception on departure as I'm far from a confrontational person and it was my partners birthday and didn't want to ruin... BUT all the girl on recieption could say was "oh dear" and offered us a couple of coffees while we waited to fly to the airport. PARIS....I will return to many times... THIS Mercure was a disgrace and needs to have the health people in !!!
The location of this hotel is great - it's right in the middle of the Latin Quarter which is a really quaint neighborhood. There are lots of restaurants and cafes nearby to try! There are also several Metro, RER, and bus stops (and a day pass covers ALL of them!!) which was awesome. Notre Dame is about a 6-7 minute walk away. The small rooms, cramped hallways, and teeny elevator were all expected because it was Paris, which is notorious for those accommodations. Just keep in mind that all of those things are normal for the city. We were not big fans of the breakfast package we purchased. There were not many choices and we may have been better off grabbing a pastry or something cheap from a nearby bakery rather than paying all that money to eat in the hotel.
