The hotel's staff are very helpful and eficient. The breakfast is very nice offering a large selection of products. Some fresh vegetables would have made it perfect. And obviously the hotel is ideally located next to the Sorbonne, the Latin quarter, Notre Dam etc. However, as in most Paris hotels the room (termed for some reason "Privilage Double Room") is extremely small and crowded. There is no real desk to speak of. No shelves or drawers in the cardboard, only a garment hanging bar and an oversized and mostly empty mini bar. The esspresso machine, coffee and tea are a nice perk. The bathroom definitely takes the first prize for miniature size. In addition to its matchbox dimensions, one of its wall inclines sharply in. The toilet is next to that wall and to avoid injury when you use the toilet, one should posses the skills and the flexibility of an olympic acrobat. The hotel's elevator has a capacity of 4 persons. However for 2, not very owerwight passengers, riding the elevator requires inhaling very deeply. Taking your luggage with you requires even more complicated pulmonary manouvers. All the above hardly conform to a 4 star rating
This hotel is located at the heart of the capital. Therefore, it is at proximity of most of tourist attractions. The hotel meets 4* standards, yet the rooms are small but they are cosy. The hotel staff are professional and welcoming. As result, I would recommend this hotel to couples or small families visiting the capital.
We booked the Privilege Room. The Room was nice and tidy. Unfortunately, our heating was broken. We contacted the reception and we were immediately moved to another room. The person in charge of the breakfast was totally friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Having stayed in many mercure hotels in Europe I was anticipating that little something more from this hotel. Mercure usually provide good selections of soaps nice rooms modern furnishings. I found this place was very small and the soaps were very limited on what they provided. I found our room was very very small and cramped for something called a superior room. Had this been an ibis it would seem ok but not a Mercure hotel in my opinion. The television was nice size and the bed comfortable. Kettle also provided and one complimentary bottle of water in the mini fridge. However I had one problem the air con seemed to be broke given I stayed in winter you'd think this wasn't an issue but the room was boiling hot forcing me to leave my window open at night. Tried turning the air con to frost but it only seemed to be hotter. It suggests it was broken Location is flawless near notres dame safe neighbourhood and friendly staff. Asked for an adapter plug and iron and was given quickly. Staff always seemed happy to help. Feedback for hotel would be to improve room service food options there was salad and that was about it. I think given it is near great restaurants this can be expected but it needed a little something more for if you wanted the option of room service. Not even a single sandwich or crossaint.
The overall atmosphere at this hotel was brillant. As charming as the building in which they work, they were noted for their consistently helpful and attentive attitudes. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble and guests commented that the level of service here was absolutely outstanding.
This hotel was very convenient to many places within walking distance (Notre Dame, Louvre, St Chapel, eating and shopping places. Our favorite desk person was Raj who extremely helpful and accommodating to our requests and needs.
A pretty anonymous Mercure hotel but perfectly comfortable. Extremely nice staff on the front desk - they couldn't be more kind and helpful and the hotel is in a fantastic location - convenient for everything . The drawback was the size of the room. A standard room was tiny and the shower so small you can't turn round in it! More than 2 or 3 nights would be very uncomfortable. So it's fine - if you don't want to spend any time in your room!
Our booking politely requested a quiet room....we were given a room on the first floor, over the reception area and overlooking the street. Room 13. When I mentioned this to reception I was told they only had 2 rooms on the back of the hotel.....and I would have been given such a room if one had been available. Surely booking months in advance and requesting a quiet room should have sufficed. When I went on to say room 13 wasn't quiet enough as I don't sleep well the guy walked outside and had a cigarette. His colleague on reception was left looking noticeably red faced and embarrassed. On 2 mornings out of 4 at breakfast we had to request basics like cutlery and hot water for tea. One member of staff looked at her watch when we went for breakfast on the Saturday morning....it was 10.15am. One English speaking channel..CNN....the BBC didn't work. As a regular at Mercury hotels and being Accor card holder I must say this has to be one of my worst experiences.
I booked a prepaid weekend in Paris for my birthday at the Mercure Raispal near the Montparnasse tower. When my wife and I arrived we found out that the hotel was overbooked and we were bumped to stay at another Mercure hotel, the Mercure Notre Dame near the Cluny museum. Already a bad omen of what was to come. When we checked in to the new hotel, we were given the "only remaining room left" according to the unsympathetic and very cold desk clerk who could not manage an apology for our inconvenience. The room was smaller than the one we had booked at the hotel of our choice, smelled as though someone had smoked 20 packs of cigarettes and was so small we could not even open up our suitcases to unpack. There was card on the bed that mentioned the Mercure quality guarantee and that if wanted to complain, to call a direct dial number. No answer, just a constant busy tone. The manager's email was on the card to which we emailed our displeasure. Still no response. Simply put, this was the worse hotel experience I have ever had. I will NEVER stay in another Mercure line of hotel again.
I enjoyed my recent stay for 6 nights. I received great front desk service from Amandine (Amy) and Radjov; they were always friendly, helpful and informative and made me feel welcomed. The breakfast room & hotel room staff service were also quite attentive. My room was clean, modern and cozy. I couldn't have dreamed up a better location; the hotel is on a small quiet street but within very close walking distance of many restaurants, shopping and Paris tourist attractions, I would definitely recommend this hotel and I plan to stay here again.
