The Hotel was under construction while I went and there was no flooring in the hallways, it's a tiny lobby, the room was dirty and unlocked when we came so we had to ask them to clean it, I would not recommend going there in the summer time, it is wayyyyy to hot, no air conditioning and no fans, but the staff was friendly
We stayed in June and it was 90-94 outside with no air conditioning and when you open the windows the noise was incredible. It's like being in a ghetto with yelling, music, screaming and road noises all night. We decided to check out two days early and go to another hotel (which was heaven) after the hotel decided to shut off the elevator "to save money". We were on the fourth floor!
Quite a good position to get around Paris, bus and rail stations within 10 minutes. Pleasant area. Our floor was under reconstruction and was not carpeted, a bit inconvenient and off putting. Room was very small with little room to open luggage. No aircon!! Staff were very pleasant and helpful. We stayed 3 nights which was long enough in tiny room with no aircon.
Only spent 2 nights here but loved it! Perfectly situated to walk to the Marais, walk from the Gare du Nord or Est, and close to the Metro. They are refurbishing so don't expect pristine interiors but the bedrooms are comfortable and welcoming. The staff are extremely helpful and available night and day! It's a reasonably priced hotel and I'd stay here again - in fact I will stay here again!
As clean as last year. The staff is polite and helpful. All of them speak English. Breakfast quality remains good. What more could one ask for!! Such a convenient location. Metro stations, SNCF and a choice of buses nearby. Take the no. 30 to go to Sacré Coeur or to Trocadéro (terminus)
We hav just teturned from a few nights at the Hotel Est and I have to say, what an amazing, good value Hotel. The location is brilliant, being 3 minutes walk from the Jacques Bondergent metro station, 5 minutes from Gare du l'Est, 10 minutes from Gare du Nord. Place de la Republique is a five minute walk, then just a short stroll to the heart of the Marais. The Hotel staff we encountered were all really lovely, particularly at check in. The room was spotless, with comfortable beds and an excellent bathroom. We stayed on the 6th floor at the front of the Hotel, and whilst the road is quite busy it wasn't too obtrusive. The room was recently renovated and was lovely, whilst the rest of the Hotels public areas appear to be nearly complete - not, I might add, unsightly, just in need of finishing touches such as carpet etc. and surely to be complete soon. There is nothing air conditioning in the room, but please remember the excellent price you are paying, and appreciate the Est for the brilliant value that it is. Would definitely go back without hesitation.
The staff yell so rude even we apologize 20 times. We don't know we have to leave our room key when we left the hotel every single time. Because no one warn us when we check in. They announced that on a piece of paper on the wall, we don't read it when we arrived. They can't expect the customer read every single paper they attached on the wall!! It's a budget hotel so they use room key manually with the address on it! Thats why its disaster when the key lost and somebody who find that can enter the room and steal the stuff. Thats not absolutely our fault but the man on the night shift so rude yelling!!! Ohh they don't like food in room, thats the most ridiculous rules i ever seen entire my life! The room is ok. I can sleep properly. The location is ok too, near gare du nord station within 6-7 min walking.
Excellent hotel with great location, subway is really close to reach main attractions. Staff is very nice and helpful. We arrived 2 hours before check-in and one of the rooms was already ready, so we could leave our luggage early.
I stayed here 24/27 March with my grown up daughters. We had a lovely weekend. Staff are friendly and it's in a lovely location. Within walking distance of attractions. Renovations are being done but this did not impact on our weekend.
