This was such a nice little place to spend a few days! The host was very communicative and was able to take care of a minor problem (a wasp's nest) immediately since she lives right next door. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The "upstairs" bed was quite firm, but I slept fine. The highs during the day when I was there in early July were around 85-87 degrees, and while it wasn't exactly cool inside during the afternoon and evening, keeping the windows open to let a cross-breeze through the screens, and utilizing the oscillating fan that was provided kept me comfortable enough. With the windows open overnight, the 60-65 degree lows cooled things down through the following morning each day. There were small AC units in the bedroom and the dining area, though, if you need them. There were about 4 of everything in the kitchen: plates, spoons, etc. along with a few other basic kitchen implements. The soap, shampoo, and conditioner were nice. The composting toilet wasn't any trouble; I did keep the bathroom door closed due to a minor smell which was to be expected. I enjoyed drinking coffee each morning in the small outdoor seating area, and I walked right next door to the Stone Cellar Winery for a tasting one evening. One of the days, I drove 10 minutes into Paonia for a little shopping, and it is a very cute little town. This place could pretty comfortably house two; three would be a squeeze! I highly recommend this for a little getaway. The views were wonderful!

Restorative

We stayed for 6 nights. Check in was very easy. Having a lock with a code sent to me was easy. Coming up the hill that was on the outside of the mountain side was a little scary but we did it once. There is another way up that is much easier but a little longer in time by a few minutes. So I would suggest going up the back way. We knew, based on the info, that streaming was limited so we brought a laptop with DVD's. Which was nice in the late evening after dark. There isn't much Verizon signal out there so be prepared to download your map on Google. It only takes about 10-12 minutes or a few miles to there town of Paonia. A hidden gem town. The bed and pillows were comfy. The small kitchen area has what you needed. Everything was clean and put together nicely. We used the little closet/reading area for our suitcases which was perfect. The table nook area was perfect. We played many games while we stayed. The swamp cooler was nice to have while we were there in the hot July summer. It was loud & a bit in the way but I'm so glad we had it. It was just myself & adult daughter. I wouldn't suggest more than two grown people. The outside patio area was such a nice place to go in the morning and evening for the amazing views. It's so quiet out there and dark at night. You may hear some sheep or see some turkeys out there but all seems safe and sound. The owner is very friendly & kind. She gave us some helpful tips for the camper. I hope to come back again. We came from Indiana.
