Beautiful Property!!!! Love this place.. it feels so Amazing on this property. It feels like home. You have a condo oceanfront beautiful view.... you feel so close to heaven , You will Dream Again in this wonderful location ! Pier park walking distance, many restaurants really anything that you would want or need in walking distance . WE love 1-1106 its our home away from home! 🎁❤️❤️
We stayed so many times with sterling resorts... ....this was our first in calypso. Not a good resort! No amenities, very small pools, pools aren't heated enough to reflect weather, very mean rude customer service, the only good thing about it are the views from balconies and how close it is from the pier and mall. In fact after this horrible experience with calypso I'll never stay there again. Also one thing I learned to never book directly with sterling resorts... they treat you like shxx when you do. You'll get better treatment if you book with a private third party company. We arrived on a sunday and we couldn't use the pool all day because customer service didn't care enough to leave us the bracelets in our condo. So the pool lady refused to let us in. When I complained the next day, all what that said is that this lady doesn't work for sterling resorts and that they'll have to talk to the condo association... bunch of BS. THANKS calypso team for giving us a great experience!
Stayed at the calypso end of February into March. Always love staying here. Walking distance to Pier Park for food, fun, and entertainment. Fattys sub shop across the road is great! Walking distance to Walmart which has everything you need! Beautiful on the beach, was able to watch fireworks from our condo on the pier nearby. The most beautiful sunsets such a great getaway from living in Wisconsin! Was definitely living the dream!
The property is well maintained and convenient to Pier Park, dining and the beach. We’ve been there twice in the past three years and will be back. The views from the decks are amazing. Parking and the walkways were well lit and very clean.
Wyndham Vacations booked our stay. We were displaced from our home due to Hurricane Michael. They were accommodating and this place was a lifesaver. Our stay was pleasant and a one bedroom condo was adaptable for a family of four. I am afraid of heights, but I was able to stay on the 22nd floor for 2 months because it was a safe place. Thanks Calypso.
The amenities were almost non-existent. The were two pools that were closed at around 9PM every night and were very limited. There were no common facilities for public gatherings. Only some of the condos had access to the beach chairs. If your condo didn't then you had to pay $45 a day to rent one. If something was wrong with anything in the condo then don't expect it to be corrected in a timely manor. Most of the cabinets were damaged and needed to be repaired/replaced.
I'm reviewing the Calypso overall - not necessarily the condo we stayed in. We're relatively new to the condo thing. To begin with, the parking structure has no signs other than what level you're on so it actually took us a couple of times coming back out to figure out where to get out. ALSO, PRINT OUT YOUR GARAGE CODE that you receive from your owner - we encountered more than a few people who couldn't get the code to work (and we actually drove right by the keypad the first time because it's TINY). Some great advice I got on here was PARK ON THE THIRD FLOOR when you're unloading. All of the luggage carts (if there are any) are going to be on that floor because that's where the walkway is. We chose to unload directly in the garage and it worked a lot better. It was also a bit confusing for us the first time we walked across because we walked INTO the building and actually ended up at the front desk asking about which elevator to take - our paperwork didn't exactly explain that you have to walk across, THEN walk down either way (on the outside walkway) to the elevator to get to your floor (unless you're on 3) - again NO SIGNS. Using a code for the door makes it easy (again, PRINT OUT THE CODE YOUR OWNER SENDS YOU) - we all took a picture of the code on our phones so we'd have it with us. We were on the 2nd floor - this was by choice because I'm terribly afraid of heights. The view was good - although the palm trees they planted in front of the pool kept us from being able to see the sunset - but there's the beach right there so you can just go down and watch it. Just know that on the 2nd floor, that's a risk. The location near Pier Park and the pier itself is great because our teenagers could just walk over there anytime they got bored. More great advice I got on here - PICK OUT YOUR BEACH CHAIRS WHEN YOU FIRST GET THERE. They'll reserve them for you for the week (and there WILL be a line forming quickly - we got there on a Saturday and there was a line Sunday morning to get them. It makes it nice because you have your spot set. They're nice, comfortable chairs with a cushion, umbrella and a little place to put things in between - and they're fairly close to the water. The wifi worked, but it was spotty and weird - they were putting in new WOW TV/Wifi service the week we were there so it may be different now. It was nice that there was a coffee maker in the room with a couple of days worth of coffee, sugar/creamer. There was also a little dish soap and washing machine soap - although the dishwasher soap dispenser didn't work in ours (we notified owner) and the washing machine didn't wash very well and the dryer only worked on high heat (again, notified owner). We didn't swim in the pool, but not for any particular reason. It was very clean and kept up - the pool people take care of it each morning. But being on the 2nd floor, you're going to see ALL the people at the pool ALL day - ours weren't too annoying and the windows are tinted so they can't see in during the day (not sure about nighttime). Pool closes at 10 so there is quiet time. You do have helicopters flying above every few minutes during the day because the rental place is right behind the building, but that didn't really bother us. Oh, and all of the staff we encountered were very friendly. One great food recommendation is Fatty's sandwiches across the street - they're right in the front of the parking structure - great sandwiches. I would definitely stay there again - but only in September. I can't imagine how crazy this place is in summer and spring break. We're going to branch out and see other places in Florida - with all of the beaches, we don't want to limit ourselves to PCB. Things we did while there - (1)Sunshine Watersports Jet ski rides - lots of fun for the boys, see my review on here, (2)Adrenaline on H2O charters (fishing) - absolutely great, boys had a fantastic time (3) Wild Thang airboat rides - this was also a LOT of fun - didn't see any gators but DID see dolphins and some bald eagles and the ride itself was a blast.
We stayed 10 days during early Sept. (The off season). This is still a very busy place. So if that’s what you like, then this is the place for you. Every night we were awakened by loud drunks coming back from the bars. The pool area filled up quickly with people saving deck chairs and then leaving. The resort is made up of two towers with each being 23 stories high, and they are building a third tower across the street! There will be an elevated ramp running over the the parking garage from it and then to the main towers which is where the beach access is. So the congestion is going to INCREASE (do the math here) by 33 and 1/3 percent!! On the plus side the beaches in P. C. B. are beautiful white sand. Unfortunately there was a red tide that started half way thru our trip and the beaches became littered with fish. The room was ok. Could have been cleaner but we will take that up with the management company, as all units here are privately owned condos. We enjoy ourselves wherever we go, but this is not the type of place we would choose again.
All I can say, is this place is wonderful and the condo we rented was great! We stayed on the 19th floor in unit2-1902; an amazing unit and the owners were great with help and the set up! The parking garage and walkway was a great plus. Two pools and beach access and a Tiki Bar! Beach chairs were part of our unit rental! The Pier Park was less than a block and the Pier was right next door! It was a great week and fabulous stay...Highly recommend and will keep this as my go to place when I’m in Panama City!
Beach service is the best of all the places we have stayed. These condos are in a great location and have excellent staff. Very close to Pier Park which has great shopping and restaurants. The condo we stayed in was well equipped and has beautiful furnishings.
