The first room they gave us hadn't been properly cleaned after some maintenance work, but they were good enough to move us. However, they did not notify us later that day that there was a water main break and a boil order. The management posted a notice on the office door, but we didn't see it until the following morning. They should have posted notices on the doors of ALL the occupied rooms. This could have been a health issue! Luckily, we had heard of the boil order from another friends staying in town. Breakfast was mediocre, too. We won't stay here again.

Room was clean "no smoke smell at all even though it's an older hotel still offering smoking rooms", bed was comfortable. Shower had adequate water pressure and heat, towels were ok - not great. Breakfast was the worst ever and no attendant and no one at front desk.

The rooms were very clean and accomadations were good. They have a really good bar and entertainment room for parties. The bar doesn't open till 5:30 and closes earlier because of minimal amount of traffic. I would stay here again and would recommend this hotel because of its cost and cleanliness.

This hotel is amazing. We love the clean hardwood floors in the rooms. Very clean! Their Roamers Lounge is a really great place to have a cocktail. Cannot say enough about the incredible retro decor! Staff is congenial and always helpful. Free breakfast is perfect in the morning. We loved the nightly rate! We will stay here every time we come to town!

I stayed here because they were hosting a large dart tournament. I honestly had minimal expectations but was amazed. The rooms have recently been remodeled with a retro feel. The beds were extremely comfortable and the staff was very attentive. The owner made himself available during the event and was very open to suggestions. When it was recommended to have tables near the boards for a place to set drinks for his next event, he did not hesitate to rectify the situation immediately. The bar had nice warm feel with retro decor similar to the room. I had a wonderful time and would definitely stay here again.

Reserved the "King Suite w/Jacuzzi" and it was awful. Holes in the cinder block walls, a picture was on the floor (fell off the VELCRO tabs), NO shower in bathroom, tub faucet was not secured and wobbly, NO counter room on bathroom sink, old peeling wallpaper, hard mattress noisy A/C. Can't see how they justified $133 for this room #140. NO renovations. Beware!

Stayed in 120 it was really quiet I like the lounge and food at the bar is great Always prefer while in the town It very clean reto motel Large parking for trailers Nice staff happy to help for all your needs

I was looking for an accommodation in starved rock and found this placem For a minute, I forgot that I am not in downtown Chicago. This hotel is a spectacular. Retro and Modern. Chic and classic. Love the makeover of Town and country to Starved Rocked Motor Inn. Bar and restaurant on premises is very convenient. Perfect place for a wedding or family reunion. Very pleased with customer service and newly renovated rooms. Highly Fively recommendation from me.

Stayed one night last month. Was hoping for so much more. Don't be fooled. Tripadvisor photo is not the room you get. Actual rooms are a mashup of retro-style furniture -- one comfortable chair and three or four very flimsy/cheap furniture items and accessories. Probably not much to be done about very thin walls, with zero sound proofing. Lots of "the old" is merely painted over -- and obviously not by professionals. However! Service at the front desk was good, and a mix up with reservation and payment was corrected without having to sustain an extra charge. I really appreciated that.

We booked four rooms for four days for family members to attend a funeral and two rooms in November for a week. We support startup & renewed business in Streator. After checking online, and knowing they had just opened in June, with good rates, new management, & clean premises, we tried booking online- but there were glitches, so we called. Both times the reservation clerk did not seem to know how to use their system & he was conversing with someone on the side. The 2nd time, he asked if he could call back - which was ok, but he didn’t. After 40 minutes, we called & reserved the rooms. This hotel is safe, clean & in a good location. The reno is new, furniture is retro style so it’s not brand new. We paid cash the first stay of four days but booked with credit- and management worried & reminded us they needed payment in advance of checking out. They had our card info. They also require payment up front even with credit, stating they’ll refund if you check out early. Their service & provision is spartan- only two pillows per Queen or King bed, 1 shampoo, microwave, refrig, iron & board, no coffee maker, ok wifi & TV. They insisted that housekeeping full service the room every day (we preferred only clean towels, & had to ask for extra towels (a third set) and return the used ones at the lobby, then walk to the laundry with staff to get them. We had little warm (not hot) water in November, & when we let them know, they replied “the other guests haven’t complained...” but boosted the boiler temp for one night. They have not set up the free continental breakfast yet and the attached restaurant had limited hours & was closed for menu updates in November. No problem- Streator has an abundance of great places to eat- fast food, pizza, tenderloins, and Al’s (great variety) , Country Cupboard (all home cooking & awesome breakfasts), Yummy House Chinese/buffet (fresh), and several Mexican restaurants (La Casa Jalisco was recommended). It’s a great town with renewal on Main Street & Proximity to Starved Rock & other places of interest. I wish the Starved Rock Motor Inn well. Though the rates were reasonable ($70), they need to improve their service to attract families & good clientele.
