Nothing to complain about except that the hotel is getting old especially the rooms. The gym is not up to Marriott standards. Overall it was okay and it’s a good location downtown to move around without the car.

We stayed two nights in Ottawa last summer. We booked a room for four people and we were pleasantly surprised by the spacious accommodation they gave us. Rooms were clean, the staff was helpful and available in suggesting sightseeing activities and great places to eat. Breakfast was good with a discrete choice of food. The hotel is located quite close to the centre of Ottawa, so once we got there and parked our car, we didn't use it during our whole stay. I would definitely recommend it!

The location is great just a short walk or drive to many downtown attractions. The room was huge, well later out with everything you could want (including a jacuzzi). The included breakfast was good, pool was good and the staff were super. We will definitely stay here again.

Excellent for families, very central, walking or short taxi ride to almost everything. Therefore can leave car parked and have no hassle with navigation or parking. Rooms good and breakfast typical residence fare. Avoid rush hour.

This mini vacation to Ottawa was the first vacation that our family of four would take to together in several years because of conflicting timetables. Upon planning this trip, we were very careful to pick a hotel that met all of the things we wanted - a pool, complimentary breakfast, close to attractions and a low floor. We arrived at the hotel to find that check in is on the fourth floor. As a person who does not like elevators, this was a huge inconvenience. Also, they lock the doors in the stairwells so someone had to open the door for my husband and I every time we came back to the hotel. We originally booked on the ninth floor, but when I told the clerk that we were assured a low floor, she moved us to the fifth floor. When we went into our room, we found it be be very dated - but we were happy with the size of the room. My daughters decided to head to the pool, but they returned quite quickly because the pool was only 3 1/2 feet deep! Hardly deep enough for a 21 & 17 year old to have a decent swim. That night, my daughters slept on a broken sofa bed and were up half the night. They do not like to complain, so we didn't hear about it until the morning. Also, there was a HUGE flood light right outside our window. That even the blackout curtains couldn't block out. The breakfast is very good and well maintained so we were very happy with this part of our stay, After our first night, we decided to check out and try to save our vacation by going to another hotel. The clerk was very rude and unsympathetic in regards to our complaints. We were finding the climb up the stairs to be exhausting. My husband has cancer, but he insisted on walking me up the stairs. We were told that we would be charged for the night so it was up to us if we wanted to check out. We are not made of money so we had to stay. While I was sitting by the fire near the check in desk a little later that evening, I overheard the clerk talking to the manager on the phone and laughing about how a woman wanted to check out, but she stuck to her guns and wouldn't let her. Very unprofessional. We called ahead to the Marriott Courtyard in the Byward Market for the next day and the clerk was extremely accommodating. I have never had to write a bad review before - especially about a Marriott hotel. I feel that this hotel should indicate on it's website that the front lobby is on the fourth floor and the pool is only 3 1/2 feet deep. Also, the manager should talk to his staff about being more professional. We went on to have a wonderful two day stay at the Marriott Courtyard - I would highly recommend it! There isn't a complimentary breakfast, but they have a lovely pool and it is right in the Byward Market. Plus, the staff was incredible!

I loved my stay at the Residence Inn Ottawa. The staff was super friendly. loved the small kitchenette and the delicious "free" breakfast. It is very close to the Parliament Buildings and many restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here with our family of 5. Loved all the space and the kitchen was amazing! The location was great, walking distance to Parliament Hill and many other local attractions. I highly recommend this hotel.

First, the staff is amazing, they are all very friendly! My stay here will end up totaling 5 weeks. When I first arrived, they said they would try to upgrade me the next day. They called to inform me I was upgraded, and to an amazing suite! The front desk said if I packed my bags and they would transfer my things while I was away to my new room. As simple as it is, I had leftover pizza in a the fridge, which to my surprise was waiting in my new fridge! I didn't think they would bring it! The hotel is clean, my rooms have also been clean as well. The breakfast is decent, something quick and easy before I head to work. Maybe, they could offer some sort of chef station on the weekend and offer made to order pancakes, omelets etc. but for what it is, it works. The location is fantastic!! Within 15 min walking, there are tons of amazing restaurants/bars/pubs. The parking garage is amazing during the winter. Not having to dig out, or scrape a car, or get into a freezing car is really nice as well. I am excited to come back to finsh out my work trip! I hope I can get the upgrade again!

I love that the units are spacious, clean and have everything we need. It is like a home away from home, with bath and shower - many rooms only have showers and I like both. The staff are very helpful and friendly.

As always, a successful stay at the Ottawa Downtown Residence Inn. Nice Folks; Comfy Room; Superb Breakfast. Easy Check In; Great location in Ottawa..close to Parliament Hill, City Hall Rideau Centre and Sparks Stree Mall..
