This is a great hotel with very friendly staff. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The hotel is within walking diatance to all of the local attractions. It was great to have a full kitchen. The hot breakfast every morning was wonderful although I would recommend going fairly early to avoid a rush of people. I will definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to others.

I have stayed at this hotel many times bc of business. They like to book this hotel bc it's specious. I had the room with king bed, and it was a suite. Awesome place. Would recommend to everyone who has a family.

We had the 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite with a common kitchen and living area. It was large, spacious and very clean, well stocked with cutlery, plates and glasses. Service at check in was speedy and courteous. Beds were super comfortable, even the pullout in one of the bedrooms. My only real complaint was the very dated decor, finishes and furnishings. It's in need of a more modern look. Considering the suite can accommodate 6 people, perhaps one more chair or sofa in the living area would work. We ended up pulling over one of the dining room chairs to the living area. Overall we were very pleased with the service, location (10 minute walk to Parliament Hill) and cleanliness. The free hot breakfast buffet was a definite draw too.

The Residence Inn Ottawa Downtown in the Laurier Street was a comfortable stay. The people working there were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were equipped with everything necessary. The breakfast could get a little crowded and the carpets in the room might not be the cleanest solution, but all together it is a very good hotel.

We stayed at this hotel over the Canada Day long weekend. We had an excellent stay overall. The location was good, on Laurier Ave. It took about 10 minutes or so to walk to Parliament Hill or the Byward Market. There were lots of restaurants nearby. We were in a 2 bedroom suite - it was massive. The 2 bedrooms were separated by a huge living room. The kitchen was a good size for a hotel but we didn't cook anything. There were 2 full bathrooms which was appreciated - one ensuite and another across from the second bedroom. The breakfast was plentiful - all the things you'd expect from a Residence Inn - breads, pastries, cereals, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, fresh fruit, cut up fruit, yogurt, juices, milk, coffee, etc. The crowds were large but we didn't wait for seating nor for food. The pool was nice - large enough for swimming some short lengths and a decent temperature - not sure how warm but I think it was probably about 85 degrees or so. We did use the washer/dryer near the registration desk - I think it cost about $2 or so per load. This was handy to dry all our wet stuff as the weather was a tad wet!! The staff couldn't have been better - all knowledgeable and friendly. The staff also had a bunch of paper Canada flags for us to take, and in our rooms there were rain coats, etc. It seems they thought of everything. My one complaiint is that although this is a pet friendly hotel, we had to pay $85 to have our dog with us. We knew this ahead of time, but it doens't seem very "friendly" to have to pay this type of fee. When we stay at the Westin or the Chateau Laurier, there is no extra fee and we also get to use a complimentary dog bed and bowls. The staff were very welcoming to our dog and he lapped up the attention. All in all, an excellent stay, and we would definitely consider staying here again.

We were a family of 4 that booked a corner suite. First of all, the suite itself was over 700 sq.ft. It was huge! It included a kitchen, whirlpool bathtub and a separate bedroom. We rented a rollout single bed because the sofa bed was quite small for two kids. I would definitely recommend the single bed because not only is it comfy but it gives the person sleeping on the sofa bed more room. The staff friendly and provided us with a detailed description of good restaurants and things to do in the area. The amenities were very impressive. The pool was quite larger than other hotels we stayed at and the workout room was also very impressive. Breakfast is included and it had a while variety of things to choose from. There is indoor parking which was convenient. We didn't have to use our car during the trip because it was central to everything. I had one of my best sleeps at this hotel and would come back in a heart beat! I would recommend booking the corner suites since it is very spacious. Very impressed!

The room was a 1 bedroom suite and massive. Plenty of storage. Full kitchen - useful to making meals. The room was clean but a little dated. Breakfast was average - scrambled eggs rubbery. Coffee and tea had an odd taste (not nice at all) but yet was alright when made in room. At other Residence Inn tea and coffee is available 24/7 - not here - just iced water. Very good supermarket Sobeys - about 5 minute walk. The hotel has a good location - easy to walk to most sites. Parking is tight - not good if you have a large car.

Perfect for our family of 4 with 2 kids under 3. Suite was huge, clean and had everything we needed. Insuite laundry was perfect! Breakfast had lots of hot and cold items and was delicious. The location of the hotel was excellent and allowed us to walk to several locations. Would highly recommend this property for short and long stays downtown Ottawa.

My room was not ready at 6PM when I checked in... I was offered another room at that moment - queen bed (I accepted because I was with my 3-year old daughter, after a 6h driving journey). They told me I will get the king-size bed in the next day (and no more compensations - that is it). Zero recognition to my Gold Status in Marriott Program... the front desk staff was very kind, but not effective at all. Old building, poor parking experience (you need to leave your car on the street to get the keys first), old furniture, terrible smell when the A/C was on... I was so upset and disappointed that I checked out early in the morning (1 night earlier) and moved to another hotel - much better - and, believe me - less expensive that night: iconic castle Fairmont. It changed our experience In Ottawa, fortunately.

We stayed in a one bedroom suite with my two children and in-laws. The room was very spacious with great amenities for a family including a kitchenette. The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. Each evening, the hotel provided free appetizers such as burger night and Indian cuisine. We were surprised by the spread of food! As well, morning breakfast buffet which is included provided lots of fresh and yummy options. The location was perfect - a short walk to all the attractions! The only critique would be some updating and the parking is difficult during registration time. I would certainly return next time we visit!
