Carpet left our feet dirty so that when we got in the shower, we left black foot prints in the bottom of the tub. Would not recommend nor will I be staying again. More because of the smoke smell! The carpet can be cleaned.
We had to clean the bathroom from someone else's makeup and kill some crickets. Bed were very comfortable but pillows, towels, and linens have seen better days. "Continental Breakfast" was stale bread and stale cereal. Employees were very nice. There is a train right next to the hotel that goes by blowing its whistle at least 3 times night, they put earplugs in the hotel room. Cheap price,we could have lived with everything but the train, rough on kids.
I arrived early this time. The old stale cigarette smell permeates the hallways. It's horrible. The toilet almost overflowed. I noticed the tv isn't a flat screen. There hasn't been an upgrade in several years. The carpet next to the walls is so dirty. It wouldn't take much to make these rooms top notch. So I stay here bc I can park my trailer, and I feel safe.
We checked in and went to our room and found it to be quite nice. The bed was clean and comfortable. You can tell that the owners/managers takes great pains to keep it that way. The down side is a cold breakfast. Everything else was better than expected. Ear plugs are available if trains bother you. We didn't use them and had no issues.
This little out-of-the-way hotel was quiet, comfortable and easy to get to from the highway. Breakfast amenities were normal and well maintained. I would recommend this Super 8 hotel and stay at it again.
•Friendly folks. •Odd configuration for a hotel (Entrances to interior hallways- Room #'s outside-Must go outside to get to offices) •The hallways wreak badly of smoke! •Breakfast is weak at best. •Comfortable bed. •No restroom fan. •Lots of night train horns!
Hubby & I stayed here for one night, almost didn't after reading reviews, but glad we stayed. 1st off, we were on a motorcycle, so always looking for a motel with restaurant within walking distance. Nana Greers Family Restaurant was next door, nothing fancy ( chrome tables) but good home- cooked meals. Motel is slightly dated, but very clean, No complaints, except breakfast is MINIMAL, but walk next door, they open early & it's delicious !
The good: my room was clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The family restaurant next door has good food. The bad: the hallway and room had an odor. Not smoke odor. I don't know what it was. The motel is close to a very busy railroad track. My room was just a few feet across the hall from a loud ice machine. The TV is very old--well before the advent of HDTV. As for other comments I've read, my room did have a frig and microwave and two sets of ear plugs.
First we pulled up at 11:55pm to see a sign on the door that says front desk closes at 12:00. We were left wondering how we would have been able to get our prepaid prebooked room if we were just a few minutes later....Then we walked in the hallway and were hit with the stale smoke filled air. We had already paid for the room so we kept going. Our room was clean but the air smelled terrible. I had to cover my nose and mouth with my shirt and slept with the sheet over my head all night. I felt like the ghost of my Aunt Grace was sitting right next to my side of the bed blowing smoke at me all night long! The air conditioner made a terrible raquet but it worked not that we really needed it for anything except to attempt to move the air around, it was cool outside. But that noise was nothing compared to the train. I am not a light sleeper so based on others reviews stating they had earplugs available I thought we would be ok but it woke me 4 times from 12:30 to 5:45. The shower was clean and water pressure was good but we didn't stick around for breakfast as I needed a neti pot to clean my sinuses before I could even think about food. We were gone by 7:00am.
We spent one night here during a cross-country move. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. The motel provides ear plugs which helps with the train noise and air conditioner. The towels were rather threadbare and the breakfast is basic. This motel is a good value for the money. It's not for those who seek luxury but rather just need a clean, comfortable room on the road. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.
