I just want to preface this by saying we're still staying here. We drove up the long road yesterday and were nothing but impressed by the beauty of this very large and extensive resort. Being a dime a dozen in this part of Florida large resorts are all exemplary and they have to compete to get guests here. kudos to the marketing department on social media for grabbing our attention on this. However even though we were ecstatic by the look and feel of the place on our first night and even the very comfortable beds in the villas where we are staying, the next morning things started to reveal themselves. We did try to call both the concierge and main desk, but no answer on either by an actual human. in fact just for fun while I ran out to Dunkin donuts to get coffee after a faulty coffee machine, we left the one working phone in our Villa on speakerphone and it was on hold for more than an hour only to go to voicemail. It blows my mind that a wonderful resort like this can't spring for Keurig coffee machines in the rooms. And then when you try to get some kind of replacement copy machine you can't even get somebody on the phone if you want to. there are also some hidden fees that they don't mention over the phone when you book. The people on the phone when we booked we're wonderful but we never got any of the pre-planning materials that they told us we would get in the mail after booking and putting down a deposit. When we tried to follow up through the website with a list of questions about kids activities and child services as well as other things that we wanted to enjoy as a family no one got back to us on that either. the woman at the front desk was kind enough about it and we got those questions answered but they were different than the policies listed online. They also don't tell you about I'm more than $300 security deposit that you have to put down for potential damage in the rooms. That is not the same as incidentals like other hotels. It's just a security deposit like you have to put down when you're renting a house for senior week or spring break. LOL. we like to think of ourselves as experienced travelers I have stayed among some of the finest resorts in the country but this place still needs some help. we were able to drop off our kids at the water park for the kids club even though we were unable to confirm on the phone whether we needed to give them 24-hour notice like the policy states or just show up like the front desk stated. even though the woman that child services at the waterpark was on her phone the entire time talking about last night's activities, I hope our kids are having fun. the other feed they don't tell you about is the $65 fee they charge when you check in for leaving the resort and coming back in through your car. Even though it's a one time fee it would have been nice to know about in advance. Last night we dined at forte. Good restaurant and good food and you expect to pay pricing like that for good service and good food and that was not disappointing. It was worth the price. it's obvious that they want you to stay on property and use their services as much as possible but running to Publix for groceries was definitely the right call and you can save a lot of money that way by using the kitchen and facilities in the actual hotel room. However the coffee was definitely an issue. my wife and I like to have our traditional morning cup while we chat and watch the news and when we saw the amazing balcony on our Villa we were excited for the morning sunrise and a cup of coffee together from our own kitchen. The coffee pot overflowed twice and coffee grounds went everywhere and it never ended up working. We tried both the bag of Dunkin and the coffee filters that we bought at the grocery store last night as well as the one they provide in the room but both clogged up the machine and coffee grounds went everywhere. It was a quick run to Dunkin donuts but still inconvenient. And as stated above, we would still be on hold trying to get someone to ask for a replacement copy machine if we actually stuck it out. We're here for another two days and we're hoping that things get better in all the facilities that we are going to check out and everything will end up being as good as it looks online and in the videos and pictures that we saw that helped us book this place in the first place. we flew into fort Lauderdale and then drove almost four hours to get here because of the reviews of this place and everything it provides near the parks but not feeling like we needed to go to the parks. We also we're seriously considering renting a house next time we come or even buying one of the new houses that they are building here. We are considering moving to Florida within the next two years and we're seriously considering real estate here. However after the things that we are now noticing although a little, it looks like it's still need some help here as far as staffing and consistency of communication and the messages you get when you end up staying here.
