Our room was dirty, the sink faucet was not properly in place and grouted, so water was leaking underneath, and I had to put a towel underneath so the floor did not get wet. One pool is closed and the other is dirty, has not been cleaned, so nobody uses it. The mini golf course is closed as well the playground, and they are in disrepair, with overgrown vegetation and covered in leaves. Breakfast is mostly bagels, croissants and slices of bread, good thing they have toaster. Hard boiled eggs and freshly sliced oranges. The waffle machines are nice Milk, orange and apple juice in glass jugs to pour from. If it were not for breakfast and free shuttle bus to parks, nobody would be staying in that place

Staff was rude, had to get keys 3 times (door wouldn't open, and maintenance couldn't fix) before they moved me to new room, then the bathtub wobbled while taking a shower. Paid resort fees and this was far from a resort.

We were first given somebody else's occupied room by mistake. Then switched to some downstairs rooms where the front door and bathroom door would not shut properly. There was no waste basket, luggage rack, or hair dryer in our room. The second room did have both along with working doors. Although, the mangers couldn't be more nicer and attentive throughout the whole stay. Which made up for the drawbacks. But we would not stay there again.

Do not stay here!!! Pictures are a lie. This is where you do drugs or pay for prostitution. Dirty is an understatement! Carpets stained, walls stained, broken furniture, small beds, and it smelled like mold. Spend a little extra to go somewhere else please!

The address on Hotels.com for this resort is wrong. The address that was shown and on my reservation sent me to a Quality Inn approximately 20 miles away. Their people took their time to help me find Maingate Resort and gave me correct address.

We were greeted by a friendly staff member although that was the only positive experience of the whole stay. Systems were down, couldn’t check in until well after check in time, no one ever answers the phones, rooms were dirty, smelly, and dated. Within the first hour of waiting for a room in the lobby, we saw inspectors and a scene which the police had to come for. Awful stay, would not recommended at all

Would not ever book again

The hotel could not accommodate me for the room I originally booked. So instead of a king I had two queens. He offered to take off one night of the resort fee and waive the deposit. Great. However, when I got to room it was a total mess. The floors were damp. Everything was mildewy smelling. I did not feel comfortable even walking around without socks and shoes. The only reason I even stayed was because I had a convention and knew I would barely be in the room except to sleep. However, the last night I braved with bare feet and woke up in the morning with orange brown spots all over the bottom of my feet. There was only two dim lamps to light the room. The bathroom light didn’t work. None of the amenities were even really running so I’m not sure how they can even call it a “resort” and given the state of the room how they could even charge a deposit because it was already in disarray. Sorry for the feet pics I took the pic after trying to soak them and hope the spots cleared off.

worse hotel EVER

To the Management Team of Main Gate Lakeside Resort My reservation was made for a party of three, including myself, my husband, and my two-year-old daughter. Details of Service Failure and Safety Violations: Upon accessing the assigned room at approximately [4pm], we were forced to immediately vacate the premises—checking out less than five minutes later—as the room was fundamentally uninhabitable, unsanitary, and presented severe health and safety risks. The unacceptable conditions observed included:     1    Severe Health Hazard (Mold and Water Damage): Extensive visible mold growth and heavily saturated, wet floors throughout the unit.     2    Unsanitary Conditions: Visible contamination, including large amounts of hair left in the shower, and pervasive bug activity.     3    Chemical Fumes: An overwhelming, noxious odor of concentrated bleach that was immediately irritating to the throat and eyes of our family, particularly our toddler.     4    Structural Integrity/Maintenance Failure: Large sections of icicles hanging from the ceiling, indicating a profound structural failure, extreme water damage, or a dangerous lack of insulation/HVAC control.     5    Life Safety Violation: The smoke detector was ripped out of the wall, rendering the room completely non-compliant with standard safety and fire codes. These conditions made the room unsuitable for any guest and actively dangerous for a child. We did not use any of the amenities and left the property immediately.
