After thinking I was not going to get away this winter, I was having breakfast with a colleague a few Fridays ago and he told me he'd just booked a last minute weekend at Bay Hill. I called right after breakfast and was able to get a room at the lodge, and a tee-time with my colleague, and a flight down to Orlando using air miles. Being just 3 weeks ahead of the API, it was quite the miracle. It was my first time there, and it was such an amazing experience. The lodge, staff, facilities, bar, and dining were first class. The course was in amazing shape. We were further blessed to discover that, because the other pair in our foursome we no-shows, we were offered to go off first as a twosome. It felt like we had the course to ourselves. We both played some pretty good golf too. In all, an amazing weekend.
Everything was great. The golf, food, service and location. We are looking forward to returning the fall. The front desk staff was very good in providing information. We like that you can park your own car near the front door.
The room on the ground floor was very nice and well appointed. Patio door opened onto a patio with a view of the 9th green. Delightful for a late afternoon cocktail while watching other golfers. The food was outstanding. So much so that in five days we did not dine anywhere else.
Bay Hill embodies what Arnold Palmer stood for his entire life....greatness! Everyone there just makes you feel at home and part of the family. The rooms are updated, spacious and comfortable. The food in both restaurants is fabulous, too.
The rooms and lodge are well used and old, they could use an update. The airconditioning in the room was very loud. We had a room overlooking the 9th hole and the view was beautiful. The restaurant had a nice selection. The pool area was nice to use after our round of golf.
Stayed here as part of a stay and play deal. Did not disappoint! Beautiful well maintained golf course...only complaint we were not expecting to have to have a caddy...$40 each. Lovely room overlooking 9th green. Ate lunch and dinner there .. very good food but a little pricey. Very welcoming and great service. All in all a memorable visit!
This is our 4th visit and you cannot fault the staff or service. We love the course it is stunning and a brilliant legacy for the phenomenal Mr Palmer who I had the pleasure to meet prior to his death. It is not a modern hotel but has a wonderful charm to it, it is clean and comfortable and the service makes up for everything else. The golf is still brilliant managed by Brian don’t - who over our numerous visits has never failed to step in and assist when needed. Looking forward to our next visit
We visited for a guys golf trip three years ago and fell in love with Bay Hill. It is turned into an annual trip. We are always welcomed by name I’m treated as if we were members of the club. First class accommodations and five star staff make this the only place to stay in Orlando.
I was invited by my 2 friends Laura and Stephen McCabe to spend 3 nights at Arnold Palmer Bay Hill Lodge. It did not dissapoint. The whole place is spotless, the staff are fantastic and so helpful and very courteous (Even with Europe winning the Ryder Cup, lol) The golf course was everything I imagined, it was truly a great place to stay, every golfer should visit this magical place once in their lifetime.
This is a place for people who like to golf, go to the spa, and use the pool. There really aren't any other options. It is a beautiful property and the golf courses are in great shape. The rooms are large and very nice. All seem to have a golf course view, some with balconies. The restaurant offers a good, reasonably priced breakfast. It serves other meals as well, but the breakfast is the best. Persons with an early tee time should let the server know, as service is leisurely. I don't know what people do on rainy days. I didn't see a library or a porch to sit on and read. It's not a place to take young children, but might be great for families with teens who are on their way to becoming good golfers.
