Clarion Inn & Suites At I-Drive/Convention Center

2.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Great location for this hotel. Very close to the convention center and within walking distance 0.7-1.0 mile from good places to eat. The place did smell like it had been recently sprayed with insecticide, and the AC in the room had to be dropped to 62 degrees for it to kick in. On a warm day, between 3-6 that I had to be in the room it was very uncomfortable. The staff at the small bar were very helpful and nice, and so were the staff at the front desk. No complaints there at all it's overall cleanliness of the hallways, rooms and outdated décor and that odor of insecticide that really did not make for an overall high rating.

Someone that had stayed in the room before me left stickers off of their clothing stuck to a chair in the room and the maid service hadn't bothered to remove them. The shower stalls had huge cracks in the corners which made me wonder how much water and mold was behind the wall. I came back to my room later in the day and there was a large piece of furniture that had been moved and just left in an odd area of the room. Just not the best place I've ever stayed. Questionable cleaning and conditions.

The Clarion is a 1970s era hotel, formerly a Howard Johnson's Motor Inn. The staff was courteous and I received two tickets for breakfast buffets during my stay. The positive aspects of the hotel were its closeness to the Orlando Convention Center, other large convention hotels and International Drive attractions. From a driving standpoint it was a short distance to the Beeline expressway leading to the Airport and to I-4 to downtown Orlando, Universal and in the opposite direction Disney properties including Disney Springs. The hotel also had a bar and promoted Happy Hours each day. The real negative was being an old hotel it needed new carpeting and it used sensor door keys which were also used to enter from the outside from various doors around the building. Working the entrance doors with the key sometimes took many minutes until it read it and unlocked the door. Otherwise, it was an inexpensive hotel and I saved a lot of money for my company staying there rather than at one of the big convention hotels where the convention I was attending was being held.

Very nice hotel, once you walk in classical music is playing. Staff greet you nicely, very nice rooms for the price we paid for.

The location was readily accessible from I-Drive near the Convention Center. Staff was most courteous and attentive and breakfast was delightful.

There was a good discount for the room. The staff overall y friendy; however when things are not working as they should, there is little response to make it right.

Stayed here 4 different times over last 2 years, no issues or complaints.

Check in staff was not overly helpful. The condition of the room was noticeably worn, spots where paint was worn and missing. Stains were located on the chair upholstery. Furniture was older and worn, looked tired and unclean. Everything worked alright. Bathroom was clean. Advised front desk I did not want maid service but they came in anyway while I was gone. If I would have known there was a red roof inn right next door I would have stayed there, but I prepaid my stay. It was a convenient location for where I was going to attend a business conference.

Don't recommend anyone to stay at this hotel at all it will be spending your money in a nasty dirty room. The rooms are really nasty with mold on the pullout Mattress and the list keeps on going. And the hotel never gave me my money back even though I never stayed there after seeing how that room was. They have horrible customer service and will not work with you at all.

Well worn. Not good. Mildew smell throughout room, seeped into all my clothing. AC, while cooled Ok, I think was at least partial cause of smell and when shut off one time caused puddle on floor and constant drip.

Hotel is in a good location close to many parks. The suite gave us plenty of room & the hot breakfast in the morning was an added bonus.

Everything ok exept they dont have pool, microwave and frige like they announce in the promo.. Lobby is too little.. Breackfast is the best!! Im back

Hotel is rather dated but it's clean, on the plus side it is very close to the convention center

Clarion at International drive was a nice hotel for a great price. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Items included: bread/bagels, tiny muffins, eggs, pancakes, sausages, tator tots, fresh oranges, and cereals. The only thing is there is a charge for orange juice ($2). We are a family of 6 and our trip was to go to the disney parks, so for a place to sleep and shower this was perfect. Why spend alot when the room is empty for the majority of the day. The kids had a great time at the pool. Would recommend hotel.

Nice place to stay. Will definitely book here from my next trip.

It was a very good experience, great location and comfort room. May be breakfast can be different to vary routine but in general was good.

Had a great stay and the breakfast was wonderful to get the day started. Jacuzzi was out, but that's ok.

It was ok it can be more better if breakfast was better and you had to pay for drinks I that it was stupid

Very close to Universal. Does have complimentary breakfast in the morning that I didn't try but had things such as cereal, eggs, etc. This hotel does not have an elevator to get to the rooms, which was a little weird but it was a short trip so not too inconvenient. For the price, it is a good stay for a short trip to theme parks, since you won't be in the room that often anyways.

Difficulty with room key Toilet overflowed within the first 10 minutes Experience vs. Cost equals a 35%
