Clarion Collection Hotel Folketeateret

We enjoyed our stay

This hotel is centrally located close to the main train station, all public transportation and both luxury and discount shopping. Before our arrival we e-mailed the manager of the hotel asking for the larger quiet room. When we got there, the manager left a hand-written note welcoming us to the hotel and a lovely gift of mixed fruit and nuts. It felt good. Our room had a sitting area which made a lot of difference. The standard rooms are pretty small. The front desk stuff is very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is really outstanding with so many choices and a lot of organic selections. We tried afternoon tea (pastries and tea or coffee) and light dinner which always had fresh vegetables, cold cuts, selection of cheeses, main course and dessert with tea or coffee. The menu changes every day.

Anker Hotel

Great location!

The hotel is centrally located, a short walk to the center. Very friendly and helpful staff, extensive breakfast included with the price. Rooms were a decent size, great price, and we had a really nice view of the river. The only minor thing was that when the cleaning staff came, they swapped out the towels but that was all. They did not make beds or appear to clean or vacuum anything else. We didn't care, but some might. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Frogner House Apartments - Skovveien 8

Nice location and convenient but that's it.

Overall the hotel is in a really nice location. It is only 10 minutes to central Oslo, and museums. I was given the corner room on the very top which made the room extremely hot and the heating system was locked. The windows didn't work properly, two of them didn't even open and one of the shutters was broken too. This room was more like a RB&B which meant that all the cleaning must be done by yourself. I love the location but I felt that the room did not meet my expectations.
