Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, Oslo

4.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

This hotel is close to a university so there is an abundance of little cafe's, coffee shops and bars. 10-15 minute walks to many of Oslo's tourist attractions and public transportation. The hotel is undergoing major renovation on the first floor so not quite what it will be when it is finished. Staff is just super. The top floor bar has spectacular views but is very pricey. Breakfast buffet had a nice variety and very tasty.

Located about a 5 minute walk from national theatre train station which is a good location for walking along the main pedestrian thoroughfare. The hotel rooms don't have any air conditioning which they probably don't need most of the year. However, temperatures got close to 80 during our visit and the room was warm but that's just the way it goes sometimes. Very good selection for the breakfast buffet. Hint: if you are traveling to or from the airport to this hotel, use the Flytoget airport express train to/from the national theatre station. Cheaper, faster, and safer than a taxi!

comfortable; had all we wanted without it being plushy; central location excellent; staff excellent; food excellent in morning

Yes , meet my expectation. Provide more tourist information.

Super snazzy but worth it. Has everything you need.

Nice location, friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Rooms and furniture little bit outdated but ok. Good value

This hotel is located in the city center. Easy walking distance to pubs and shopping areas. The bigges plus about this hotel is that It is very easy to get to the hotel from the Oslo airport. Just board the SAS bus outside the airport and it will drop you right outside the hotel door. No need to drag your bags in the snow. Rooms are OK... a bit small I guess but then that is relative as everything is big in Texas :-)

Good location, good breakfast, friendly staff. However, for disabled traveler who are hearing impaired, would have a problem with the communication system in their rooms as well as making contact with the staff. They also need to have special rooms for deaf guests where they can have visual alarm in case of danger or fire.

From the very start as we checked in quite late in the day, to the generous breakfast offered, everything was easy.

VERY Ordinary for the price! Should have stayed at an other Hotel! Nothing Special!

The hotel was in a great location very near the Karl Johans Gate (main street of downtown Oslo) and even nearer to the Palace. There is a small park around the Palace that you can run in if you're interested. The room itself was a bit outdated but they were undergoing renovations of various floors of the hotel while we were there so I can only assume they hadn't gotten to our floor yet. We had a 19th floor room that overlooked the town and provided for a great view. There is also a bar on the top floor overlooking the Oslo fjord and the town. It offered great views assuming you were willing to pay $15 a beer (which is pretty standard anywhere you go in Norway!). The staff was excellent and nearly everyone spoke perfect English. They called cabs for us and arranged for the very convenient airport bus to pick us up at the front door. Oh and pay attention to the signs in the bathroom telling you to keep the door closed during a shower. The steam from our shower set off a silent fire alarm and warranted a visit from the manager. Apparently steam causes fires in Norway????

We stayed in Radison Blu hotels in Bergen, Trondheim, Bodo, and this one in Oslo. We would rate this one the lowest of the 4. It has small rooms, some lack air conditioning, the front desk operation is poor. Checking in and out takes a long time. We had problems with our billing even though we had pre-paid via [...].

The hotel is very nice and easy to find since it's taller than the surrounding buildings. The complimentary breakfast in the hotel restaurant was a bit crowded but in the business class rooms, they offered complimentary breakfast brought via room service as well. It was clean and had free wireless internet in the room. The only real downside was the general city noise from the street outside the hotel seemed a little loud but perhaps someone more accustomed to city noise wouldn't notice.

Beautiful hotel with a great breakfast included! We traveled with a senior citizen and this location was extremely convenient to the central city attractions and had a tram stop right outside. There were 3 of us in the room, which is oftentimes challenging in Europe, but this room was more than accommodating.

Took the airport express bus directly from the sirport to the hotel. Very convenient door to door service. The hotel lobby has nice ambience with a cracking fireplace but the furniture is a bit worn, dirty, and shabby. I hate that! Check-in was smooth. The room was also shabby. The carpet had NOT been vacuumed and the bathroom was lacking in towels and shampoos. BUT, the impressive, large and abundant breakfast buffet made up for the unimpressive rooms. I probably would stay there again but know not to expect much as far as the actual room is concerned.

This was a great spot for seeing Oslo, literally because of the panaramic view from a high hotel. Everything was within easy walking distance or from a convenient mass transit system. The Breakfast was great and enormous
