Coming back from South Dakota via motorcycle we were sore and tired - we booked this hotel on line based on the star rating AND they had a HOT TUB - we soooo needed to soak our tired muscles. The room was $117 for the night and non-refundable. When we arrived the pool and hot tub were out-of-order! SERIOUSLY!!!!!???? It was late, we were tired, - we could had booked Motel 6 for $67 without the hot tub. Totally disappointed - no where online was there notice that the hot tub was broken - and we could not get our money back - hence, non refundable! It was a rip-off of sore muscle proportions. We will not be back here next year for sure! So, I would advise to CALL the hotel and ask BEFORE you book online - or suffer, like we did
We needed a hotel that was an easy distance to Henry Doorly Zoo. This place only a 10-15 minute drive. There were five of us in one of the suites. It was one room but with a floor to ceiling dividing wall for living room area. That space had a sleeper sofa, coffee table, easy chair & second TV. Bedroom area had two comfortable queen beds. The wardrobe was way too small for five of us & we could have used a second luggage rack. We liked that the room had plenty of electronic outlets. Nice walk in glass shower in bathroom but no towel bar. The vanity next to micro/fridge console could also benefit from a towel bar. Small indoor pool & hot tub. If you are just supervising family in pool, it is good to know that the windows open. The room is stifling on a hot day. They also have a plentiful supply of pool towels. Pool open until midnight for adults & kids until 10:pm. Breakfast hours 6:00-10:am. Small breakfast room for a 3-story hotel. Hot breakfast items on weekend we visited: Omelets, sausage patties, biscuits & gravy, waffles plus oatmeal with toppers & the usual cereals, pastries, yogurts, HB eggs, fresh fruits, no bananas but tangerines. Even our picky eater found something to like. There are plenty of nearby restaurants with a Famous Dave's across the street as well as a Casey's. We would stay here again. Our only complaint was housekeeping. After having been gone from early morning until evening, our room had not been made up. When I complained, they quickly brought up towels & took out trash.
We booked one night on June 9th for a quick stop for the zoo and then out of town. Everything seemed fine....until I got my credit card statement. Apparently my husband and I or our 9 and 3 year old, who have never smoked a day in our lives, were smoking in our room and were charged an additional $100. I did see a person smoking in the hallway the night of our stay, but as there would be no ashes or anything left in the room, apparently some smell from nearby is enough to justify charging us for something we didn't do. I can't dispute it with the credit card company, I'm sure, as it was a month ago, and how can I prove my innocence? Complete crap from a company that was one of my favorite chains until now. Do yourself a favor; stay somewhere else.
Strange smell when walked in front door. Not a fresh clean smell. Same in room. Was clean just not fresh smelling. Tub floor was blackened and could use better cleaning product to really clean it. Breakfast selection had hot foods but not very appealing. Settled for cold cereal instead. Stay was ok for one night but have stayed at other Comfort Inns that service is much better.
This hotel was nice to stay at clean and decent. The staff was nice, we were overcharged by $152.40. I also was told by phone that the rooms had a refrigerator and microwave. It did not we were still charged the same as others that did. We also called well a headed of time to not incur a room charge for 6/14/2017, I called the hotel around noon spoke with a nice lady informed her we would not be arriving until the next morning 6/15/2017. We also ran into a severe thunderstorm that delayed us about an hour to two hours. So my wife called at 1 am also she was told that we would need to pay for the room even though we would not be staying that 1 night. I was very discouraged about being charged for a night we were not staying. But my wife calmed me down and I let her deal with it. Now my account is over drawn because you charged us $719, I thought we would be paying $423. But my wife said you charged us for 4 nights plus a late fee for an empty room. So we paid twice for a room no one stayed in this is totally unacceptable. Plus no fridge and no microwave. I now have other bills coming out off my account that will be affected by this situation. I fully expect the situation to be rectified asap. For the trouble I deserve more then an apology. When you make an agreement and one party does not uphold there end it's a breach of contract. We as a group had 9 total rooms. That's a lot off money. I know other parents bills were wrong also! What kind of a scam are you running. I called tonight after seeing bank statement only to be told there was nothing they can do. Well my bank, visa or my lawyer will have a look at that. I will also be contacting every parent to review there bill. This hotel should step up and do the right thing. Thank you, Jason Wooden
Easy to find, great area! Checked in after abandoning a dump of a place! WOW! Super friendly and hospitable! Very clean and well managed. We loved the pool and hot tub, and all of the restaura my choices nearby. Highly recommended!! Great for families!!
The staff was fantastic! They were very accommodating when we ended up in town around noon after a 7 hour drive. Check in isn't until 3:00 but they went out of their way to have a room cleaned early so we could check in and get changed before heading to our family function. The beds are very comfortable and the room was surprisingly quiet. We will definitely stay here again when we are in town.
When hotels.com asked me to rate my check in, I gave it a sad face with no explanation. I don't regret that because it was my first impression. Here is why: Not sure if the guy checking me in was busy, tired, annoyed, etc but he never once smiled. He was going through the motions, almost as if he was bored. I have to be honest, I thought maybe this wasn't going to be a good stay.... But I can't find any other reason to complain! The room was nice, clean, comfy bed, nice shower. Breakfast had a great variety and was replenished. And in case the hotel staff do read this....again, kudos to the lady behind the desk asking a guest to put her shoes on when she was down for breakfast! We see barefeet all the time at all hotel stays everywhere , and this employee spoke up. Loved it! It was very convenient havind Caseys right next door too. We ordered a pizza the first night and went and picked it up. Ps, don't try to find a drugstore around here...save yourself some time and just go down to Walmart!
I recently stayed at this hotel and it was a lovely experience. Our room was a bit musty and dry, but we opened a window the second night and it was perfect. The beds were super comfy and everything was clean. Breakfast included waffles, eggs, meat, pastries, cereal, oatmeal, and more! It was exactly what we needed to start the day. I would definitely stay there again!
Very, very nice hotel. A very comfortable bed. Front desk was very accommodating. Location was ideal. The only reason I didn't mark "Excellent" was that the room did not have a refrigerator or a microwave.
