Sad. Depressing.

The employees at the hotel were kind and friendly. I feel terrible for them having to work at that hotel. The hotel owner clearly doesn’t invest money in the hotel or amenities. The room was an adjoining room to another one with a locked door in between. We were woken up both nights around 3am by people in the adjoining room making loud noises having sex. We thought it was probably a prostitution situation and were extremely uncomfortable. I couldn’t get back to sleep because of the noise. Luckily our kids are very young and didn’t wake up or know what was going on. I didn’t say anything to the hotel staff because that is out of their control and it is not their job to police guests. I would never stay at that hotel again. I didn’t feel safe and I would have left but our booking through Orbitz was non refundable. I feel terrible for the employees of the hotel having to be in unsafe and uncomfortable situations like that. The hotel management and owners clearly do not invest enough money in the property and it’s run down looking.

Liked the location. Did not like the dirty carpet or the major dip in the bathtub which I’d en accident waiting to happen. Aldo, out television did not work and they were unable to fix it.

Room was supposed to be non smoking but smelled awful. Motel using covid 19 as an excuse to not have breakfast, evan though every other motel since last summer has had breakfast.

First off, the staff is amazing. Evelyn was kind and friendly and very helpful. I understand the delivery is not fast, but there is a costco to get breakfast foods. Bathroom was a mess in regards to being broken down. It needs updating ASAP. Room 151 so be aware. Overall staff awesome. Place is ok to stay in. Felt safe and easy access to 80 plus food and gas.

They were doing some remodeling so there was a bit of mess but nothing that kept us from enjoying our stay. It was quiet and the staff was helpful and friendly.

Pool is way smaller than the picture suggests. Was initially given a smokers room. One keg didn’t work. A portion was under construction. Breakfast was pretty good, though it required microwaving to prepare it.

The room on the first floor was too close to the breakfast area and pool and was noisy late into the night and early in the morning.

Do not stay at The Comfort Inn At The Zoo. The place reeks of cigarette smoke, pool was closed due to unsafe bacteria levels, carpet is dirty throughout the hotel, and vending machines do not work. We were on the second floor, however, it was street level, kids threw rocks at our air conditioner, and during the night they pounded on our windows. We felt unsafe and tried to call the front desk, however, the phone in the room did not work. We left in the middle of the night and drove all home to Wisconsin. Horrible place!

The hotel hallways and rooms smelled like an old wet moldy towel. We found a cockroach on one of the clean folded towels. While I was at the front desk getting help with another issue, the clerk was in the midst of trying to throw someone out and an hour later the cops arrived. The pool was open at first and then was closed indefinitely. We checked out early. It felt unhealthy to be staying in such a damp room while to air conditioning was running because it was over 90 outside.

Pool was tiny and very dirty. Lack of staff. Staff took a long time or never brought things that were needed. Rooms smelled of smoke. No elevator to second floor.

The location was perfect distance to the zoo and local restaurants.

the breakfast was awesome!

The pool was shut down for maintenance which was disappointing. The girl that checked us in was not friendly at all and didn't tell us anything about the pool or how they were doing breakfast. The girl that checked us out was very friendly though. Also, we were locked out of our room for awhile. The girl said it was because the metal detectors at the zoo wipe out the key cards but our credit cards were fine so idk. I also noticed that some of the women cleaning rooms were not wearing masks.

Do not get "our best room" aka room 140 the double queen suite. There was a large missing part of bathroom sink next to the toilet that I scratched my arm on, the closet door in the "private" room was broken. Worst of all there was a very, very loud electrical hum in room, so loud I could not sleep or even drown it out with TV. Notified staff, they seemed surprised, came to hear it and after acknowledging it stated they would get keys to the adjoining areas to get it figured out. Nothing was ever done and they did not change our room after they acknowledged the problem. Found cashew on floor as we entered room, coffee pot was dirty. Curtains to patio did not close and were hanging off on one corner. Beds and pillows were OK. Pool closed due to health violations. Brown bagged breakfast was a pleasant and THE only pleasant part of the trip.

Some carpet was under repair. Original room had a musky smell. They moved us without issue and was going to look into the issue.

There was no breakfast (I called ahead to make sure breakfast was still being offered during Covid times and was told yes.) I found a condom wrapper on the floor. When we asked for extra towels for the pool we were told they didn’t know if they had any and then were given 2 slightly larger than hand towels. 4 people were supposed to use the 2 bath towels provided in the room for the showers and pool. The check in person didn’t know if my card had been ran through the third party and told me she didn’t know how to run it anyway and then there was no receipt in the morning or even we went down to let them know we were checking out. The location is great for the zoo, and it was good enough for the price, just disappointing because it could be an awesome hotel across the street from one of the best zoos in the country.
