I wish we could of stayed longer to take advantage of the kitchenette but all and all it was comfortable and clean. The staff was very helpful and polite and if I had to go back fir business again I wouldn't mind using Candlewood again.
Like Anne W (who wrote an earlier review), we've just moved to the area and are waiting for a house to close. Candlewood has been absolutely perfect--they took us and Newf Ruby in just when we were all feeling a bit addled by the move, logistics, etc. We were very happy with the accommodation and delighted by the "can-do" attitude of everyone on the staff. The amenities they DON'T mention are almost better than the ones they do advertise--it really feels like they go out of their way to make a temporary home feel as good as a permanent one. We are most grateful as we wait out the house cloing.
Great location easy on off I-5. Close to restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores etc;. Pet friendly we stayed for 5 nights and pet fee was $75 for 5 nights. Rooms have all the amenities you expect, Full size fridge, two burner stove top, sink, disposal, flat screen, closet space. Nice outside Weber Genesis grill. Front desk always had treats for our dog. Great green space to exercise your pet a block away. Have a nice honor system pantry with all types of food and snacks. We really like the free washer and dryer. Would definitely stay here again.
I spent two weeks here when I relocated for a new job and our house hadn't yet closed. On the positive side, the hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff is very, very nice and accommodating. The rooms are nicely appointed, and despite being by the highway is surprisingly quiet especially if one has the fan going. aThe bed is comfortable. You pretty much have everything that you need for a long-term or short-term stay. You cannot beat the convenience of the location. There is a Fred Meyer close by for groceries, there are numerous restaurants, and it's about 10 minutes to get into the heart of downtown Olympia or to the Trader Joe's off Black Lake. My one gripe, and why I didn't give 5 stars, is the quality of the internet speed. Good grief. During busy times of the day, it's positively glacial speed. I really wish they'd upgrade routers and would have faster service available. It's incredibly frustrating at times, particularly in the evenings when everyone is logged on. Then again, I'm here for 2 weeks and I can deal with it. If I were using it for business, I'd probably be torqued.
Easy access to this hotel from Interstate 5. It is located convenient to many restaurants just around the corner a couple of blocks. Nice Red Lobster nearby that we enjoyed. Had forgotten that Candlewood is more a longer term stay hotel and does not serve breakfast in the morning. Prefer a less expensive hotel that serves breakfast. Pet friendly. Lots of dogs the night we were there.
This is the first time I have stayed at a Candlewood Suites. This is a no frills catering to business or small families. Not sure why any hotel would still have double beds. Aren't queen and king beds standard now? Hotel has cool checkout of useful appliances if you are in for an extended stay and like to cook food without a stove in your suite. Nicely shaded by tall evergreen trees, but could use better sound insulating windows to mitigate the I-5 traffic noise. No breakfast, but a good selection o junk food from the food locker. Hotel is clean and simple with friendly staff, nothing fancy at an affordable price.
I arrived to an amazing person named Char who said "we upgraded you since you are a Platinum member". She gave me a beautiful huge one bedroom suite! What a nice big room. And Char was so amazingly helpful. She brought ice to us and was so friendly. Great stay - highly recommend it.
To start, we get in at 10:30 at night, get to our room. Only find it had not been cleaned from the previous person's stay. They move us to a studio from a one room that was reserved. They changed the price to the new room rate, but no discount for the inconvenience of our room not being ready. The beds are old. The mattress is so worn that the middle is caved in. There is no shampoo or conditioner. The hair dryer is a joke. It only puts out cool air so it takes for ever to dry your hair. I wouldn't recommend this place.
Spacious room, full kitchen, icemaker, on site honor store with any food/drink choices + hundreds of movies to checkout for free ! Bed you never want to get out of! Friendly staff! Only downfall is no pool and no daily housekeeping.
I picked this hotel just because it was near where I was going and it ended up being an excellent selection; I loved it. SUPER, super nice place. I don’t normally stay at this chain and was pleasantly surprised. Clean, large suite. Fully-equipped kitchen – stovetop (but no oven) frig, coffee pot, dishes, etc. There were lots of fluffy towels in the big bathroom, and I liked the laminate floors. Beds were comfortable and the linens clean. There’s also a nice work-desk area; wifi was free. It was a little pricey ($122), but it was worth it. All good! Something I LOVED about this hotel, in the lobby there is a large case called a “Lending Locker;” it’s a huge cabinet with items they share with their guests. It has a lot of things in there that people can borrow (for free) and then return to the cabinet. It was such an excellent idea (see my photo). There was everything in there that you would have in your home, but don’t have access to when you travel – I think that is a very cool feature of this hotel. The lady working the desk on the morning of June 7, 2015, was SO nice – she had such a friendly personality. This location is right off the freeway, but you would never know it because it is surrounded by beautiful, tall trees. My room actually faced the freeway, and there was no noise or anything bothersome about it; I couldn't even see the freeway beyond the trees. Be warned, if you get directions off Mapquest (travelling I-5 west towards Seattle), it tells you get off at Exit 108, Sleater Kinney Road / College. Well, that part is true. But, when it forks to Sleater or to College, take College. The hotel is RIGHT there on the left after you take the College ramp. There are trees all around the hotel and it’s very pretty. It’s right by the Holiday Inn, also on the left. There was plenty of free parking. There’s a Target and other shops about 2 minutes away. I was only here for an overnight stay, so I don’t know much more about the location. On my way out, I was looking around and it looks like a nice, clean town. I would most definitely stay here again when my travels bring me to this area.
