This is just the most beautiful hotel. The pictures do not do it justice. It was like a fairy tale setting! It feels like an oasis from the busy city...there are numerous open air courtyards filled with beautiful gardens, including the pool area! We felt very pampered by the staff. They were attentive to our every need. Highly recommended!!

Quinta Real is a beautiful hotel with a lot of history and character. This 15th century nunnery has been converted into a hotel with beautiful lush gardens. You can't go wrong staying in this centrally located hotel.
Beautifully put together room inside an wonderfully preserved and thoughtfully restored 16th century convent. The grounds and gardens were beautiful and immaculately maintained. The staff were attentive, prompt, and courteous. The building itself would be worth visiting as a landmark - staying there was a wonderful experience.

In general, I felt that the price paid for this "luxury" hotel was not worthwhile compared to other hotels in the area, you're really paying for the historical value of the property and nothing else. Staff service was OK, depending on what you need from them. Room was clean, but definitely not what you expect a "suite" to be. I stayed in an "Exterior Suite" that was on the ground floor. It was a small room - the televisions are tiny, the bathtub was broken. Ground floor suite can be noisy as you're right next to the road with heavy traffic and a stream of pedestrians. If they didn't brand this as a suite, it would've been alright. WiFi in the hotel was sad - they were restricted to one device per person in your room. If you want to connect additional devices, you're going to have to pay almost US$10 per device. Staff was attentive to your needs (assisted with baggage) and speak good English. However, I wouldn't ask them to do anything else. I tried asking the front desk to help me book a collectivo to the airport and they tried to charge me 4 x more than what it'd have cost. When asked why, they said the price I paid was from the airport to the hotel, the other way costs more. I eventually got it booked at the standard rate in Oaxaca elsewhere.
Incredible Quinta, definitely up there with Monterrey. The staff and actual hotel was just exceptional. Worth the money!

Our first visit to Oaxaca, but this hotel was phenomenal. I love that it was originally a convent built in 1500s - beautiful stone walls are very thick, which means quiet rooms (never heard another guest through the walls or floor to downstairs), and it’s automatically cooler when you walk onto the property. The staff was remarkable - friendly, informative, accommodating, and pleasant to speak with. We got recommendations from the front desk for places to eat, shop, and get pesos. We ate breakfast there most mornings at tables around one of the many courtyards - a great buffet of fruit, pastries, juices, and hearty Mexican breakfast fare - tamales, tostadas, chilaquilles, meats, eggs, etc., along with their version of an omelette station. Dinner was equally exceptional. The beds are comfortable with fluffy duvets (I have back problems but was happy). 24 hour room service is a plus which we used once. They also provided same day laundry service, so you can bring less clothing and save space in your suitcase for souvenirs. We were on the 2nd floor, so the stairs became difficult after our full day hiking tour - our fault for not being in shape - lol. They have a nice pool, two bars, and a tour office which can arrange personalized tours to see the multitude of archeological, historical, and cultural destinations in the area. Honestly can not recommend the Quinta Real highly enough. Would definitely recommend and we will stay here again!

We were assigned a small room with poor ventilation which was had one window that was directly on the street. We were told that the hotel was full and there were no other rooms available. The sewage smell in the room was so bad that when we were in the room we propped open the front door so that we could get fresh air. I took off my shoes and walked from the bed to the bathroom, the bottom of my white socks were black with dirt. The staff would spray for buys every day and that left a sticky film on the floors. The a/c system was difficult to adjust and the thermostat feel off the wall and onto the floor when we attempted to adjust the temperature. Clearly delayed maintenance and lack of housekeeping was apparent all around this property. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was very good.
So close to everywhere we wanted to be. Amazingly helpful and friendly staff. Best hotel experience we'be ever had maybe! Loved it entirely.
We had a beautiful stay in Oaxaca, made possible by Quinta Real Oaxaca. The staff was very helpful and took great care of us. They have an unbelievable breakfast, and at the end of the day, a very helpful, poolside bartender. Housekeeping made sure the rooms were always perfect. The hotel itself is an amalgamation of different buildings and past uses, which adds to its overwhelming charm. It is located in the city center, perfect for getting around. I will leave out some other positive surprises for you to discover. I never rate anything online, but I feel I owe it to the staff of the hotel to recommend it to you.
This hotel is a real treat. We stayed in an interior suite on the second floor above the pool area. It was very quiet. The room was beautiful as was the rest of the hotel. It is located well within walking distance to many sites and the staff was very helpful arranging taxis and a tour guide for Monte Alban. The food was delicious. This is one of the highest price hotels in the city but I feel well worth every dime.
