the staff was nice, saw turkey wondering around out front. parking lot well lighted. food at breakfast was good.
Hotel is clean, quiet and central to the area. Good eats all around. Parking. Comfortable bed. Less than other hotels by here. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you
Stayed here while visiting our kids/grandkids who live in family housing for Church Divinity School of the pacific. It is an easy commute down University Ave. free breakfast and many ethnic restaurants within walking distance or short drive. A Trader Joes down the street is a plus. Homeless situation is very visible in the area.
Friendly, helpful staff. Always acknowledging that I was there.
they are pet friendly and the hotel does not smell . the location is great, service was amazing. a repeat for sure
Not a great place to stay. Hotel is on a noisy and busy avenue. Property upkeep is poor and the building feels tired. For example: elevator door takes 1-2 minutes to close, if it does at all. A slight smell of dampness prevails, especially in the rooms, where management has chosen to restrict window opening to 3 inches or so. Room insulation is very poor and heard upstairs and side neighbors throughout the stay as if they were in the room. White truck alarm when off in hotel parking lot 4 times during the night, just outside our window. Room was clean. Too bad the rest of the experience was poor. Front desk personnel barely acknowledged our presence on check in and check out . Not worth $224 / night.
Good pool and great breakfast. Walkable to the train to go into town. Friendly staff.
Bit of a Walk to Bart Station, but for my needs it was nice Stay.
Room was not serviced on Sunday and had to call 3 times over 3 hours to get it cleaned. Toilet clogged and had to call 3 times over 2 hours until someone finally fixed it.
Simple hotel, cheap, not luxury, good in an emergency or for a low cost.
We were very happy with this hotel. Great value for the money. The room was clean and the beds were super comfortable. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The one design flaw though is the few stairs to the first floor. Because we had all of our daughters belongings in an open truck we needed to move a lot into the room. Even though we were on the first floor and they supplied baggage carts, there were stairs that we had to deal with. Other than that - very impressed and we will stay there again if we can get a good deal.
Beds were super comfortable and rooms were quiet. Pets are allowed. Complementary breakfast was good. There was hair on the toilet and tub. Toilet handle to flush was broken and very low water preasure to flush.
overall experience was good. staff could be little better but had a good experience. clean rooms, comfortable beds. I would recommend this place if you are traveling and need a place to crash for the night. enjoy!
The staff was always fast and helpful, the room was clean and comforting. Breakfast was awesome
This was once a lovely grand hotel. A bit worn and run down now, but clean and in good condition. Staff helpful. Breakfast very good. Neigborhood a bit barren but I did find an Indian restaurant 2 blocks away.
Clean, staff was friendly. The ambiance was great. The food was good as well.
Comfortable bed; friendly staff; inviting room. The location was a little too far from say, a CVS, when I needed it. I was there for the night dropping off my daughters at Berkeley. The TV screen picture could have been better. The woman hosting the breakfast in the dining room seemed a little bossy and off-putting.
This is an average hotel for a low price. If you are planning a short stay at Berkeley, then it is worth it. Their morning breakfasts are really good.
This is a great hotel to stay in. Room service, staff, breakfast, cleaness, and location all this things make this place an a great place to stay for business, reunions, college drop off and more.
I traveled to Berkeley for business, was in the hotel for just one night. The breakfast was good, the usual La Quinta standard. The room was updated recently (new fixtures in the bathroom), bed was comfortable and room was clean. The area is okay, it seems like it is still coming up. The Berkeley area was nice, and there are some beautiful views from campus.
