Our encounter with the young man, at the reception desk did not go well. He was short, unfriendly, rude and had not one inkling of Aloha Spirit in his body. At first he could not find our reservation. Which I found interesting as Keanu the valet found us on his list right away when we first arrived. We had booked two rooms under my reservation. Yoshi gave us three room keys - which upon further thought I was like - he expected three grown adult men to share a small room with one king sized bed? Really? When I told him that I had booked two rooms, he then looked and was like - oh yeah. He never asked if we wanted to upgrade our rooms or anything. He was the most unpleasant of folks ever encountered. At one point, I even said to him - well, you are being awful friendly today - sarcasm - he just chuckled. Reflecting on the experience later with my husband and friend who we traveled with, we wondered if it was homophobia? Was it that we booked through Expedia and he was throwing "shade"? The room itself was awful. It was small. Only one side of the bed had a nightstand and instead it had a chair. In the bathroom you were competing with the toilet to be able to use the sink. I will NEVER stay at or recommend an Outrigger property ever! I did receive a phone call from a lovely young lady based on my earlier response to an email like this one. She said she would comp my parking. I assumed that meant for the week, but we were only comped four of our eight nights at the hotel.
