Prince Waikiki4.0 out of 5.0

Love the greeting on the tv screen, felt really good staying at Hawaii Prince. The view from our room was beautiful. Can't wait for the next vacation.
The rooms were spacious and beautifully designed. There was an expansive window overlooking the harbor and ocean. The hotel was at the very end of Waikiki beach - close enough to enjoy Waikiki, but far enough away to avoid the noise and busyness of Waikiki Beach.
If you are looking for any of the amenities at the big tourist hotels like Hilton, Hyatt, Outrigger, etc you won't find them here. This hotel has no pool (will be available after April 2017) or Jacuzzi, no salon or spa (there is a very small fitness center), and not even a gift shop. There were only two restaurants and they were both extremely high prices for mediocre food. Also, even though it overlooks to harbor there is no outdoor space for either restaurant or bar so there is no place available to just relax outside and enjoy the weather. The rooms do not have any balconies. Also, even though Orbitz said it was in Waikiki, it was in more of a business area far from the shopping and dining options that are around Waikiki beach. They did provide a free shuttle but it was only once an hour.
The view was amazing. The bed was very comfortable. Loved the Japanese style it had including the artwork and furniture. The all marble bathroom with glass doors separating the toilet, shower, and bath was nothing like what I've experienced before at other hotels. I would rate this Hotel five stars!
We arrived to Oahu and stayed at the Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki. They upgraded up to a nicer room with partial view of water and boats which was very nice of them. The room smelled damp and moldy so we called the front desk - they offered to put us in a regular room with no view versus having someone come up and evaluate the room. The worker came in and sprayed the floor and said this is common in a lot of rooms. The room was comfy overall, the bathroom was large with a toilet with a warm seat and Bidet which was a new experience. There was not much to do at the hotel but there was some ladies able to help set up things to do for the days we were there. We took a bus walking distance from the hotel to go to the Diamond Crater which only cost $3-4 dollars for my husband and I. I wish we were closer to the Waikiki Beach which I thought we were based on the way the map appears, it is a 10 min bus ride away. We only ate there the day we were leaving in their buffet area. We ended up getting 50% off since I found a cockroach in my coffee. We probably should've gotten the whole meal for free. Overall, I had a nice time here but would not stay here again.
It was a very nice and comfortable stay. The staff was excellent. The room and views were superb. We couldn't get a king like we reserved the first night, but they upgraded us to a higher floor. The next few nights were spent in a king bed room. Although the hotel was in the middle of renavations, the hotel staff did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. My only regret is that we couldn't try the new restaurant they were renovating by the lobby.
We had our misgivings at staying in this hotel as some of the reviews are not very flattering. However, we were impressed with the staff friendliness, the marina facing room, cleanliness and overall good vibe . I'll definitely recommend this hotel. Moreover location of the hotel is another plus point - very close to a huge shopping mall, shuttle bus service to Waikiki beach.
We enjoyed the room, especially the view of the marina and the park. Really liked that even though there is no balcony, the windows opened wide and let in the fresh air. Just as good! We knew going in that there was some construction going on, but I think they could have done some better planning. They did not have a bar to simply get drinks at due to the construction. Not a huge deal we thought because we can go up to the pool bar. NOPE!! That bar wasn't staffed. In order to get drinks you had to call room service, which took 20 minutes. Not exactly the most convenient set up. I would think if you close the main bar, you would at least staff the pool bar during the day. Fortunately, there are several hotels and other restaurants easily within walking distance. The hotel is also about a mile from Waikiki beach. We took the hotel shuttle down to the beach, and walked our way back while doing a little sightseeing. It was a very easy walk back! The photo's they had outside of the construction area look great. I expect it is going to be very nice when all of the work is done!!
The facilities are looks good. But there was no hot water for couple hours.
The hotel was great, they upgraded our room for free and everyone was super nice!!
The staff was extremely helpful. After requesting a roll away bed upon check in, I went to the room, then to get ice. The roll away bed was at my room before I got back. Concierge service was kind enough to print out local maps & bus schedules for me. At check out, there was about 5 hours before my flight left. The hotel secured my luggage & provided (free of charge) a room to shower after spending the day at the beach
First off, I feel the need to state: I would totally recommend people to stay here. The only non-5 marks that exist in my review are facilities related, but even that is in the process of being corrected. I'm sure the new additions/renovations will bring this hotel to the new standard that exists on the island. But for me; the main standout from our stay were the employees. Everyone that worked there went out of their way to be nice. And it was awesome! Everyone from the valet service, to the front desk, to the room attendants. Bravo. We cant want to come back and see the changes when they're complete. Cheers, -A
Located right on the Honolulu Harbor and adjacent to Hilton Hawaiian Village, across from Magic Island and Ala Moana Beach Park, and close to the mall. Great location for first time visitors that want the convenience of being able to walk to festive and scenic must-see locations on Oahu.
In the past this was a very nice place to stay. You would be greeted at the reception desk with a steaming hot towel to refresh your hands, and the rooms themselves were quite posh. I'm afraid that ship sailed. They now have fancy Japanese toilets, but it doesn't begin make up for the drab feeling of the hotel room. They wall paper was peeling in at least a half dozen places, and windows had not been washed in quite some time. It was sad. I used to love this hotel. I will be staying some where else next time.
Because the lobby was undergoing renovations the noise during the day, overall appearance, and smell wasn't the most appealing. But whatever inconvenience the construction created, the staff made up for in helpfulness and friendliness.
Ken at the front desk was exceptionally helpful. The view from our room was wonderful.
Although the check-in was slow, the reservationist was cordial. The room was spacious and the amenities were awesome! The bed was comfortable and the view was spectacular!
After a long flight, we were a little tired, Ken helped us check-in earlier to our room for us to relax and get settled. Rebekah at the Prince Court Restaurant was very helpful and accommodating to assist us with our reservation at the restaurant. Ken at the front desk and Rebekah at the Prince Court restaurant were the best!!! This made our stay at the Hawaii Prince even more memorable. We would stay at this hotel again. THANK YOU TO KEN AND REBEKAH AT THE HAWAII PRINCE!!!
I had a great experience with the hotel. I was moderately surprised about how affordable it was considering how close it to to the heart of Waikiki. The staff were all very polite and helpful, the rooms were spacious and clean, and the hotel itself was great.
