It is a beautiful property outside and in the main areas, i.e, the exterior of the building, the lobby. It was easy to find and conveniently located. The rooms themselves are spacious, but very worn. I've stayed in hotels were the furnishings are older, but still charming in a retro kind of way. That's not the case at the castle. The hallways, rooms, furnishings, carpeting -- it's all in need of a refresh. I'm very glad we got a special price because it was Monday night. I would not have been happy if we had paid full price. The gentleman who checked us in (bless his heart) was trying his best, but didn't know what he was doing.

The facility was very difficult to find and difficult to navigate once on the property. Realizing that COVID a has hit hotels hard, I struggle to leave a bad review, but my experience was terrible. Restaurant closed, no one at the desk in the morning, impossible to find one’s way around. I wish Orbitz had made it clear how little of the hotel was functioning right now, because I feel like I was had.

Excellent!

Would NOT allow late checkout, even an hour, despite hotel being vacant and deserted. Free breakfast was nice but it was dry continental style. I was harassed to leave the property at 11am checkout when I went to the pool for a bit with my kids- again hotel was empty except 3 other guests. That was horrible I have never experienced such behavior by hotel staff. Hotel bedding was nice and beds comfortable. Would not stay here again.

Clean quiet place. The TV system however is streaming only. Very dissapointed with that.

The castle was excellent ! I stayed during my birthday weekend here in February. The castle was absolutely beautiful . The hospitality is excellent ! The restaurant and spa were closed due to Covid but we still had a wonderful time. There are nearby restaurants and the hotels provides you with the info. I had about 10 girls with me for my birthday weekend & the hotel was very understanding .. of course we were a bit loud .. but never a big deal for for the castle . The tour is an excellent addition for your stay . Cesar was the best and very knowledgeable about the history of the hotel. Will return again when everything opens up !

The room we had was very spacious. The ability to open the windows to get fresh air into the room was much appreciated. Loved the complimentary beverages and the chocolates at turndown. The hotel is nice and quiet - perfect for the romantic getaway we had planned.

I reserved two rooms, one king, the other with two queens. I got to Kings and a cot and told that’s what I reserved. The next day after we left they told me actually my reservation that I thought was correct. I was contacted and they said they would look into it. Nobody’s contacted me since. Nobody really seem to care. Fascade and grounds are spectacular. Service is above average.

Stunning architecture and gardens compliment the modern upgrades made to this historic hotel. The staff were friendly, service was exceptional, and the pool a great place to retreat from the hectic NY world.

We enjoyed our stay at the Castle Hotel and Spa. The food in the restaurant was very good, but a bit pricey. The bar tender in the bar was the most knowledgeable person we encountered in terms of knowing his business. He was personable and offered us many choices just to make one drink! Breakfast, on the other hand, was confusingly slow. It took quite a while to get a bowl of oatmeal. I had to ask for butter, salt & pepper, and cream (one item at a time).
