My wife and I stayed here on the 12th and 13th of January, Booked in and were shown to our room right away on the ground floor, as the afternoon went on we started to feel quite cold in the room, studied heating control but just could'nt get any heat. Went to reception and were given a heater, but still cold. Went back to reception and were given another another room on floor 4, Staff very helpful and new room very comfortable and warm. The rest of the weekend went extremely well. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, the steaks we had were the best we have ever tasted, absolutely amazing food. Our room had a lovely canal view, must be lovely in the summer. All the staff were very well trained and cheerful and we were very impressed with Ellie Cooper on reception and Karl Jones who seemed to be every where. Would definitely stay here again, excellent base for visiting the Dales.
We alway have a short break after Christmas to recover and the Rendevous was a great choice. The apartment was lovely, clean and cosy with great views over the countryside and canal. There are no complaints about the hotel, we only had one breakfast but the bacon was a bit over cooked. The Saturday night party was well organised, the food was good, served quickly and hot but as a couple we felt uncomfortable on the isolated table so did not stay for the entertainment. The pool was fine but the attendant not as good as the hotel staff, towels supplied eventually. Sadly I counted 26 instruction signs in the pool alone, a bit over the top and hid the lovely tiles. There seems to be a random sign for everything. The location is great with a bus stop outside to get into Skipton quickly and save parking. I would recommend the hotel and love to stay again if we could get the apartment. Although the staff were good we were not asked if we enjoyed our stay on checkout which would have been an opportunity to raise any issues if we had any and the only feedback questions have been from Booking.com.
Stayed for 3 nights on coach tour to celebrate New Year. Room was small but functional with modern fittings and had all we needed for a short break. Food for the whole stay was very good and eating in the conservatory with great views of the canal and countryside was a bonus. New Years Eve dinner was exceptional and very well organised. Main lounges could do with a bit of modernising. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.
We spent 3 nights at The Rendezvous Hotel and would recommend it for a good value break. The staff were very friendly including the owner Malcolm Weaving who chats to guests in the restaurant. The steaks in the baby Swan conservatory restaurant were especially good. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the room was cleaned daily. The swimming pool & spa area could be improved , more lighting, cleaner changing area & padlocks for lockers
Stayed with a party of six for New Year and following night this was our 4th new Year and as always found the whole experience excellent. Check in was quick and simple with a warm welcome from the reception staff. Our room was very good with everything you could want for a 2 night stay including iron and board which is handy when you see how I pack... The champagne reception 6 course meal and entertainment showed no drop in standards from previous years and was the perfect way to welcome in the new year. The breakfast was of a very high standard with Malcolm the owner happy to visit the breakfast table and explain how the breakfast was prepared . But with everything there is always room for improvement and my only bug bear was that at 10 minutes to midnight the DJ made a packed dance floor sit down whilst the owner organized old lang syne and the playing of Big Bens chimes....maybe it was just me but it felt like being at school. That said I would have no hesitation in booking for next year and extend a big thank you to all the staff for making our stay so good.
Booked for a party of 6 for Christmas Day Dinner , Being such a grand affair i was really looking forward to it , unfortunatley i was sorely disappointed, The food was nice, but they were very stingy with the veg , especially the roast potatoes which were already on the plate with the meat ( i got one teeny one ), and one tiny pig in a blanket and small blob of a stuffing ball . after dessert , i would have expected a cheese board ( but cheese and biscuits were classed as a dessert ) and coffee served at the table, but we had to move to the lounge and serve ourselves from jug/flasks and go in search of milk and then we couldn't even sit together and were split on two different tables with other people ! i know it was Christmas ... but for £60 per head i was quite disappointed and would not go for Christmas Dinner again.
Big bedroom, clean & comfortable. Price didn't include breakfast, had it realised this is i probably wouldn't have booked it as I think £10 per head is a little pricey. As it was it was very enjoyable, the staff were very pleasant and obliging. The Christmas decorations were lovely. We had a bar meal one evening. Excellent burger and chips. I would stay again and would recommend to friends and family.
Went early December to a Christmas Party and overnight stay. Location was perfect. a lovely drive through Skipton country roads (snow covered) to arrive at a lovely hotel. Christmas party was very well organised and the food was lovely. set menu of Christmas Fare which was all hot and very tasty. the compare was great and the theme was movie night. Two men provided entertainment by singing songs from the movies and a DJ followed. fantastic night, well worth a booking. Was a little disappointed there were no Gin glasses, trivial though it seems, with Gin being the drink to be consumed by many these days, and despite them having a specialty GIN menu, I was shocked to be served mine in a half pint glass. something to think about investing it future. Our room was a little dated, a feeling which was not shared by fellow guests so I assume that is a work in progress. I would definately recommend it as a venue for a function in the future.
Lovely Hotel in an ideal setting on the outskirts of Skipton with scenic views from most rooms. Food is nothing to complain about but nothing to write home about either. Staff are helpful and friendly with comfortable rooms and beds.
We were last here in this Family run hotel 2015 it was nice then it is now very very good The Festive break is well organised and must say that the Staff are fantastic as was the quality and presentation of the food particularly the Christmas Day lunch in the Swan Resteraunt Had a couple of minor niggles but they were resolved so no hesitation in recommending this hotel and will return as and when we can
