This is a fairly modern (possibly 80's) hotel with pool and Gym. Feels like it was revamped in last few years and was certainly better than my previous stay in '98. Room was clean and well appointed but was a very compact twin. Good selection of tea and coffee choices in room and nice. Decent shower and bathroom facilities although water pressure a little low. Breakfast was a buffet with good choice of hot and cold items regularly replenished so no rubbery eggs here. Bar area a little dated but also had a pool table for a little late evening R&R

We stayed mid week. The hotel was quiet. It is located by the Leeds- Liverpool Canal - the dinning room looks out over the canal. There is plenty of car parking. I was really pleased to find that there are two FREE charging points for electric cars. Such a nice thank you for coming and staying with us, along with the little chocolates on the bed in the room. The staff are polite and welcoming. There are lifts to the rooms. We were on the fifth floor. The room was spacious and clean, with a good size TV. There is an iron and ironing board. The room was quiet and adequately heated. The bed comfortable. We were staying for a dance in the hotel. The special price for our room was £50 for two, including breakfast. Such good value. I should had the breakfast is a help yourself affair with all the usual choices expected of a decent hotel. We did have an evening meal. The main course was excellent ( spicy chicken on a skewer). I enjoyed the choice of wine. I did have to ask for the wine to be chilled as it was only presented on ice, and not in ice- the bottle was warm, however, the staff were obliging. My dessert , lemon tart , was a little lacking, both in flavour ( lack of lemon) and with the mix of raspberries with a cherry coulis ( thick and jam like) - not a good mix of flavours. Two courses+ wine ( £20) worked out at £50 approx. Good value. The bar was welcoming in the late evening. I was pleased to find it also did coffee. The room we danced in was an excellent space. It would be suitable for weddings. We really enjoyed our stay. Good value, good accommodation, a well run hotel. The food was pleasant. I would eat here again. I will be pleased to come back for another occasion.

Booked our annual reunion as early as 9 months ago to be sure that we could enjoy a short-break in this very popular canal-side venue, just a mile from Skipton Town-centre. Our party had chosen the large canal-facing rooms with views to the nearby hills - we saw geese and ducks, as well as narrow boats on the adjacent Leeds Liverpool Canal! Our 3 course evening meal in the Baby Swan Restaurant was chosen each day from a good range of dishes - generous portions, well cooked and served by attentive staff. Great lounge and bar-areas to gather and chat before/after our meal. Free use of the Leisure Club was included during our stay and sampled by some of the party. A good place to visit again and still plenty of new things to do and see in nearby areas. A thoroughly enjoyable reunion for us - roll on 2019!

Absolutely beautiful hotel both inside and out situated by the side of a canal between rolling hills with narrow boats passing by. Well made tow path with gentle walk into the town centre. There is also a regular bus service right outside hotel. The staff are extremely friendly throughout. At check in everything was explained in great detail. The bar snacks are reasonable priced and quite large. These can be enjoyed in a spacious comfortable lounge area. The rooms are lovely, very clean with free WiFi the code being given out straight away. Our bath room was particularly beautiful as it appears to have been updated fairly recently but did suffer from the lack of a hook for a dressing gown etc, a minor problem. The in room magazines were clean and fresh. A large selection of local area attraction leaflets could be picked up in the lounge area. Tea making facilities were available in room with good quality biscuits. This included tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The full English breakfast was well cooked, served on a help yourself basis and kept warm in large heated pans with lids. These were topped up on a regular basis as the contents were taken. Again the dining room and attached conservatory were a pleasure to sit in and the waiters were well trained in the art of "waiting on" and extremely pleasant. Seem to have thought of everything here. I would certainly recommend this venue and hope to visit again some time in the future. Well worth five stares on Trip-adviser.

Really loved our first visit to Skipton and staying in the hotel added to the enjoyment of our trip. Good value hotel with lovely friendly staff including the owner coming to say hello and have a chat to all the guests during breakfast which we were so impressed with. Breakfast was great and we got a great table by the canal. We used the swimming pool which though small and a little bit dark was great for our purposes. The family room was a very generous size and very clean. We were in a ground floor room which looked out onto the car park and road. It was surprisingly quiet despite being near the road. The hotel leads out to the canal path so you can walk into Skipton wishing 20/30 mins. We walked in to Skipton on the day we checked out and the hotel were fine for us to leave our car in the hotel car park which enabled us to do the walk. We have booked to stay again as it was a friendly, good value hotel.

Spent a weekend here with our dance group and had 2 great nights of dancing in the lovely ballroom which has a superb floor for ballroom dance. Food was delicious and always hot, scrambled eggs at breakfast to die for! Had a great spacious room overlooking the canal with barges passing by. Only downside was the heating wasn't very good and had to ask for a supplementary heater. All in all a great trip,

This hotel is a cut above your average three star hotel. However, one or two little niggles - shower leaking in room, music in the restaurant was mainly from before I was born (in 1961) or country music of which I'm not a fan. I can't eat milk, cream or butter, and was faced with a 'rasberry sorbet ice cream' , and had to ask which it was. I ended up witn a fruit salad, that was more than half apple, and included half a grape (my wife had the other half of the grape in hers). The restaurant was excellent on the second night, making a huge effort. All the staff throughout were really helpful, so full marks to them.

Grandma, mum and 2 year old visited Skipton to toddler to travel on a train. The rendezvous hotel had a great offer so we decided to stay. Set at the side of the canal it's a lovely hotel serving delicious food served in the conservatory overlooking the canal. We had our evening meal watching the ducks and barges going by and as it dropped dark, the rabbits appeared in the field opposite. Everyone was helpful and friendly! The indoor pool was warm and suitable for little ones as it had a shallow area. Would we go back? ... most definitely and we will recommend to family and friends!

Stayed 3nights in Feb and it was really good,we booked a canal facing room which was really good as we watched the barges passing the window, the staff at reception were friendly and efficient, the room was spacious with comfy bed,the restaurant was in the conservertory and the meals were delicious well cooked and a good selection both breakfast and dinner, the hotel itself is in a good location as plenty parking and you can walk along the canal bank into town.will definitely return

Booked the dirty dancing tribute night must say the cost was only £25 per person including entertainment and a three course meal. The food and show were great, really enjoyable. Our evening was spoilt by poor bar service and expensive bar prices. The bars were poorly staffed with inexperienced staff who were struggling to cope, serving poorly pulled pints and inconsistent drinks. Prices were expensive and different each visit to the bar. On arrival we were 40 mins before we got served! Would return if the bar issues could be resolved!
