Could be a nice hotel if they did some basic maintenance. Our initial stay was some months ago where we had a constant door banging. A lovely lady called Gemma got in touch and offered a complimentary stay. Gemma was really flexible and helpful in booking an alternative date. Took a gamble and booked for my birthday .Sadly no different second time round I don't think there is a door that does not need oiling in the whole hotel. Doors also need closers on them as they all bang shut if left and due to the catering of hen and stags consideration is not given to people trying to sleep. We were given an ajoining room to 2 guys who liked to play death metal. .Others were smoking on the corridor but staff did not enforce their own no smoking policyby not challengeing despite being aware. Pool area looked small but clean. Food very basic choice. Lack of fresh fruit and choice of juice. Hot opticians were usual full cooked or an omelette. No substitutions for vegetarians unfortunately.
Lovely hotel really good for money great spa and pool hotel staff were amazing and very helpful Veronica at reception was very nice and polite also the 2 bar staff during our stay were nice and had a laugh with us whilst we was drinking at the bar
At check in we were greeted by Mark who was so lovely and helpful told us about the hotel. Got to our room found it to be a bit chilly went to the pool room was still cold mentioned to mark if we could have the heating on. This was unfortunately not working so he offered us a room switch or a heater we choose a room switch. The manger then came and offered us a 20% we never asked for but was so kind to offer. Everybody we spoke to was very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent reasonable price 3 course meal for 2 people £40 can't grumble at that. Even the new lad was lovely. It is right next to a main road but I never heard a thing.
a weekemd away with friends, first time staying, and very happy, excellent and friendl yand helpful staff, rooms nice clean and warm, beds were really comfy, breakfast service and foord quilty was excellent as well, we will stay again
The room and amenities were fine, unfortunately this hotel hasn't adapted to the fact it's situated on a main road. The noise pollution from the traffic was unbearable and made sleeping very difficult
Few problems at this Hotel Desperate need of renovation, stains on carpet, mould all over bathroom walls, damp towels, mouldy shower curtain, very dated and staff arguing during breakfast . Fab location that suited our trip.
No hot water, noisy plumbing throughout the night, poor food, being woken up to be asked to 'go down to reception to pay for my room service meal' at 22:00, smell of cigarettes from bathroom vent meant i had to open the window onto to busy dual carraigeway. After a poor nights sleep i was looking forward to hot water that had been promised, to find that the shower was faulty and sounded like a boats outboard motor, didnt seem safe and i couldnt shower. Everything went wrong that could, which sometimes happens, but with no solutions or even acknowledgement that these issues were unnacceptable from the staff made it worse. I contacted the Guest Relations Manager afterwards who replied with a half-hearted response recommending that I complain to my travel agent and they wouldnt refund any of my bill as 'the food complaint wasn't raised during my stay' and hasnt responded since i asked for my complaint to be escalated. Poor hotel with very low standards of customer care despite a premium room rate. I work away regularly and this was definitley the worst hotel ive stayed in.
The bridal suite was very clean an comfortable and big enough to fit our makeup people in an bridesmaids, the function room that we had our wedding in was big an turned around very quickly an was set up to perfection the staff were great in dealing with any and all issues that came up and the food was fantastic can highly recommend for having events here
Lovely hotel very handy for-visiting many places value for money only one down side a private party was on and the car park was overfilled resulting in our car been damaged. Two young guys at breakfast didn’t understand what we were asking for two full breakfasts without fried bread one full breakfast ? Sat for quite a while 30 mins before we finaly got our breakfast after the young lady chased it up for us this young lady was running around none stop brilliant worker.Had to chase two young ladies away from our room door after they decided after the private function finished they would have a laugh and chat overall great stay
Booked for a family break away near Chester. The hotel is next to the dual carriageway, which isn’t unusual. What is more unusual is the lack of sound proofing. In short, it is noisy. And this is constant. Rooms are basic. Rusty radiator, mouldaround bath seal, hard uncomfortable bed etc. Breakfast was along the same vain. Poor service with waiting on staff who quite clearly have also given up. Lukewarm tea & coffee in bizarre flasks. Cooked breakfast swimming in grease. Dirty stained chairs & carpets. Not one person asked if we were ok. Swimming pool was too shallow for adults to swim in. Again, very surreal. We were impressed with the website which makes it look great. We couldn’t face breakfast the following morning, paying instead at an alternative place. Quite simply the worst stay I have ever had.
