The staff was very sweet and always had a smile. The property was not really dirty but rundown. The bottom of the bathroom walls had eroded away. Thegall had a weird odour. The continental breakfast was good for a quick bite. The restaurants near by have closed so there was not a place to have a drink and socialize before heading to bed. I am making it sound dreadful which it was not but yet it could be so much more.

We arrived at 2:45 and were asked to leave because check in wasn’t until 3 . Never had that happen to me before .Picture on Expedia had a chair in room . It’s why I chose it due to my bad back .There was no chair . The office chair was broken . The room had a balcony but we couldn’t enjoy it because there were no chairs.

Smelled really bad:Chinese restaurant kitchen+mold

Overall, I didn’t like my stay. Maybe I just got the worst room there, I don't know. So, I got room 404, it was 4th floor, and you basically feel like you stay in the backroom of Chinese restaurant. Yes, there's one on that particular floor (!!), hence all the smells - mostly bed smells - from the kitchen are in the hallway up to your room. In the room, which already need some repairs, there were a smell of mold and some moisture, as well as some old smoking. The door to the room looked like somebody tried to break in one day: some paint was missing and door had some scratches. The bed was OK, though, no complaints. But the smells... well... that ruined everything for me. Breakfast was OK. They have a waffle maker:-)

Only better than a tent

Service was great, bathroom and sheets were clean, but the carpet is gross, the furniture, ceilings and walls really need a refresh. Smells the old hashtray in the hallway because obviously none of the carpeting have been renewed since the smoking days. I think they used Lysol to clean the room, thank god we had and outside door on ground level to let the fresh air in, the smell was unbearable, so strong it stung us in the throat. I'm guessing it was to overpower the cigarette smell from carpeting and furniture.... The lady at the desk was sweet, but i wouldn't go back nor recommend.

We had a great stay at this location. Centrally located.. Very helpful with directions to places to eat. Continental breakfast wasnt to impressive .. over all a decent place to stay

Our room and bed were horrible and in extreme need of being completely renewed. If you have any other options avoid this hotel. We stayed at a number of other hotels on a long road road trip and this was the absolute worst including the horrible breakfast that was part of the price.

The hotel's location is excellent....a 5 minute walk from downtown North Bay and under 10 minutes from the Trans Canada Highway. Unfortunately, it's in need of renovation...they're in the middle of change to the in-house restaurant and the shower tap came out of the wall when pulled to start the shower. Other than that....
