Good location in a not a to busy part of Norwich, stayed in a family room as you can see it's a good size , our only criticism is the family rooms are on the second floor and it has no lift and when you have a buggy etc it's not ideal but other than than we had a nice stay ,breakfast had everything you could want even had black pudding, that's a plus for me,will be staying here again.
For a mid-range hotel this has good amenities for the city centre. It is off the main road with a supermarket 5 mins down the road and two pubs selling food in cloe proximity. The hotel has its own restaurant that is open unitl nine but the bar sells food until later. The hotel has a small gym with a pool, steam room and sauna. The gym equipment is older but fully functioning and easy to use. The swimming room facilities are small but extremely clean. Though there is no life guard, the pool is overlooked by the desk in the gym. My friend had problems with sleeping because of road noise and we had to move rooms. Staff were extremely helpful and upgraded us from a twin room to an executive suite with no extra charge. Breakfast was good and readily available. Overall, this was a comfortable and convenient place to stay and I would use this hotel again.
The hotel is well located and easy to find with plenty of parking. Hotel rooms are clean and presentable and the rooms have had the holiday inn refurbishment! So room are basic, clean and presentable, albeit like other reviewers mention bathrooms are very small and only have a shower (if that matters to you). Staff are attentive and friendly and service generally good. So is there a negative? Well yes despite the signage saying New Menu and Great Food, the food I received tonight was not cooked as requested and in fact was average to say the least. So tomorrow I'm going to try the pub down the road that other reviewers have recommended! In summary a good place to stay but I wouldn't eat here based on my meal this evening. I'd have given it a rating of 4, but you have to rate it based on everything and it's truly a good 3! I have one more night left - and will update if anything changes!
The hotel has nice rooms, comfortable beds, good breakfasts and dinners in a large and airy dining room with a pleasant bar adjacent. There is a decent-sized and warm indoor pool too. Plenty of parking. Close to the ring road for easy access. One small niggle is that our "executive room" had a tiny bathroom hard to squeeze into, and the standard rooms we have had in the past are better in this respect. The staff are welcoming and ever helpful.
Good quality Holiday Inn with big rooms and pool/spa. We used to stay here often whilst my daughter attended UEA. I'm pleased to say the hotel has stayed fresh and staff remain welcoming. Easy to reach off the Norwich ring road, with free parking. Quiet location offered a great night's sleep.
Spent one night with two small children (aged 1 and 4) and the staff couldn't do enough for us - especially the lady at guest relations desk by reception. Pool was clean and just what we needed. Great breakfast. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable stay and would highly recommend.
We felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. The reception staff were, without exception, friendly, helpful & efficient. Our room was clean, comfortable & more than adequate for a two-night's stay. On the minus side, the bathroom was absolutely tiny (and as I am quite small myself I can assure you that a problem getting out of an open bathroom door is not normal!) Also we were slightly disappointed to see that, although the hotel is set in fairly quiet suburbs, we had a the most unattractive view from our window, of walls & roof & air-con installations rather than greenery! And the photos of the pool did not really give the true impression, which is that the pool is very small & the changing areas have seen better days! Back onto the positives, we ate in the restaurant on the first evening & the meal was good, there was plenty of choice, service was great & all in all good value.
We had a very enjoyable one night stay in the hotel. The receptionists were friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable and the breakfast was well stocked and they had a novel was of providing freshly cooked eggs.
Stayed here for one night on the 20/08/17. We had a very nice welcome when we checked in.All staff were friendly and polite. Our room was very clean and tidy and we had a very good nights sleep in a very comfortable bed The prepaid breakfast was well worth the price (£10) for both of us.Plenty of staff on for breakfast. This is the first time we have stayed in an Holiday Inn, and it will not be the last.Well done to all the staff 10/10
Giving this hotel 3 stars seems cruel, like the hotel is a failure. However it just reflects that it is an average example of the chain. It is on the edge of town and has a good sized car park. Check in was pleasant and my room was a good size. Wifi was good and there were plenty of power sockets. Space in the bathroom was very limited. The gym was ok, a reasonable mix of machines and free weights and a pool too. Room service was very quick and a good sized portion. Breakfast was disappointing- a limited selection and some poor quality items. The bacon was very fatty and the cold meats looked somewhat wilted. Considering the price I paid, I'd probably look elsewhere next time.
