The hotel is newly renovated and I love the decor. The room I had is just like in the photo. Very good condition and clean. However, a bunch of mishaps leaves things to be desired. First I had no kettle in the room. The receptionist couldn't find one so left a note for next shift to send one to my room. But I never received it. The wifi doesn't work for neither my phone or my laptop. There was no shower gel in the bathroom (but the receptionist brought one up within an hour). Heating was broken and they brought a heater for me to use for the 2nd night. No complaints about the staff they are all friendly. However I never had to tell receptionist so many times that something is wrong/missing from the room.

Bed and pillows not what a 4 star hotel should be like. No room at all in the toilet room. Literally cannot close the door while sitting in the toilet. Desk was way too small and no fridge. Just an awfully designed floor plan. Other than that, excellent staff, great heater, and great location.

The hotel is in the perfect location. Close to everything. Room was a bit small and I was next to the closet with the cleaning supplies so there was a lot of bumping once housekeeping started their day but it wasn't enough to make me move. You can't miss with this hotel. The staff was friendly and being less than a block away from the sea was stellar. I would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely stay at Albert 1er Hotel in Nice. The location couldn’t be better - right by the Old Town and just a short walk to the Promenade des Anglais. The décor throughout the hotel is very tasteful, and the staff were excellent - super attentive, friendly, and always willing to help. Communication before our stay was also great. We arrived early and, although our room wasn’t ready yet, we were able to leave our luggage at reception, and did the same on our last day before a late flight, which was really handy. The room was on the smaller side with limited wardrobe space, but the bathroom was nice and spacious with a bath and window. We had a courtyard view - not the most exciting, but it was mostly quiet apart from some noise on Saturday night. The mattress and pillows were extremely comfortable – I often struggle to sleep the first few nights away, but I had no trouble here. There are water refill stations on every floor, which is really convenient. There’s only one lift, and it’s quite small - it fits about two people with bags. Unfortunately, it wasn’t working on our last day, which wasn’t a big deal for us but might be worth noting if you have a lot of luggage. We checked in on my birthday, which the hotel didn’t acknowledge in any way. Housekeeping could be a bit better, as we often noticed some hair still on the bathroom floor when we came back to the room in the evening, but overall we really enjoyed our stay and would consider coming back.
