AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This review is specifically for those, like me, who are not familiar with the area so you know exactly what'd you're getting. This is not an affront to anyone less fortunate or in a lower socioeconomic bracket. It's is an observation and it was obvious that this "hotel" appeared and operated as it did because of is clientele. There's absolutely nothing updated, just painted over and masked. The room is straight out of the Bates motel, the bathroom wasn't clean, the exterior walls were dirty and looked like they hasldn't seen a power wash probably since it was built. The bed felt like cardboard and the towels were stained. I purchased a towel, showered in my slippers, and slept on top of my clothes. Yes, I hear the question, why did I stay??? I come from humble beginnings and not a stranger to "roughing it" It was a one night stay and that's about all I was willing to tolerate. I knew something was different when I walked of my room and observed individuals who appear to be living there or at least had been there for awhile. Also, another resident, I mean customer appeared to be under the influence and I don't mean intoxicated. Yet, a third "customer" was having a mental health moment. Again, I'm not trying to be disparaging, nor am I averse to the population, I work with them everyday. I just expect my hotel experience to be at a certain standard and less of a shelter experience. STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Switched rooms and there were the same problems. Room was neglected. Infested with gnats/ bugs. bedding was filthy. Even after sveral requested, replacements were not provided upon return. I wish I had paid with my credit card so i could have disputed my stay. I will never go back.

They did not put fresh sheets on the bed when we checked in. The prior guests sheets were still on the bed. I asked them to put down all new sheets and cases. They put down a new top sheet, but not new pillow cases or base sheet or blanket. The bathroom shower hadnt been cleaned in weeks. Never staying here again.

The room we were given was accessible from the parking lot not a problem. The problem was there were multiple cars in the parking lot with people hamging out in them. The car parked directly in front of our room door had knives visable in it. Get in the room it smelled like someone had just left smoking weed. The blankehad burn holes all in it the Tv stand/dresser looked like it hadn't been cleaned dirt all under the glass that sat on the dresser. Spider webs in the corners spider crawling on closet door. Mirror in the bathroom broke. Burn marks on toilet seat. Shower walls and soap holder dirty like they hadnt been cleaned.Vent in bathroom moldy and broke. All out dirty and and very unsafe.

No available equipment to transport luggage to your room. I was told you are to leave your luggage in the car then get room key and drive luggage to the room I explained I had taken a Uber. It only gets worse My husband pushes a walker they placed use in a smoke odor room on the other side away from the front lobby we couldn’t look at another room because it took a minute for elevator to move and it smelled like urine I asked if we could be put in another room on the first floor we were told later when asked about change later it was a different front desk employee he was unable to communicate he did not speak English kept telling me tomorrow there’s a lot more think you get the message what an experience

Requested non-smoking rooms the room reeked of stale cigarettes smoke, the sheets on the bed had cigarette hole in them and not looking clean also the pillow where filthy yellow with stains on them with all this making it impossible to stay at this hotel

The room was ok, not awful but not great. I booked an accessable room with walk in shower but once I arrived they stated they no longer had that room available so I had to get a room with a bath and shower combo, not great for someone with lower back issues. They did have complementary breakfast and I can say the apple juice is awesome. The only other issue I can say is at checkout they did not give me any type of receipt and that really worried me.

Location of the hotel was great. I understand that this is an older building; however, the rooms should not reflect this, and they did. The room had lots of dust buddies and lint bugs. We had to go and purchase new linen because of the uncertainty and the uncleanliness of the room.

This place is absolutely terrible very dirty and poorly maintained. I went during Hampton University’s Homecoming, and it honestly felt like they treated guests this way on purpose because it was an HBCU event. They decided to treat their customers like filth during Homecoming weekend. I will never in my life stay in this godforsaken place again. They need new management and cleaners ASAP. Do yourself a favor and stay far away.

The staff did what they could, but the rooms were poorly maintained. They had obviously been painted recently but who every did the job was very good. The bath tubs were painted but the paint was peeling and the bed looked like it had been slept in and the covers just pulled back up without changing. I was shown three rooms to choose from and the time being late, I just took the best of the worst. I didn't stay the second night.
