Had my choice of four Wyndham Vacation properties that had availability for a quick getaway. Chose the Wyndam Inn on Long Wharf. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Checkin was quick and super easy. Our room (one bedroom suite) was the perfect size for us. We went to the roof top deck. Gorgeous. We didn't spend too much time in our room but to sleep shower and slept in and made breakfast in the room. It was clean and neat. The kitchenette had everything I needed. The view was awesome. We could watch the fishermen and women unload the catch of the day and there is a lobster shack right at the foot of the Wharf many enjoyed the fresh catch. We were so close to everything we could walk everywhere, restaurants, shopping, sunset cruise. In the short time we were there we did so much!!! I can suggest Thames Street Glass to make your own ornament, paperweight or vase. Something you don't see or do everyday! Call in advance to book your time. Sunset cruise on the Aquidneck (sp?) Schooner, just the right size plenty of room for everyone and the crew were amazing. Dinner and drinks at many places on the Wharf and Comedy Improv at the Firehouse Theater really funny! Again I highly recommend for things to do outside of see the mansions. Took a nice long ride on Ocean Drive and got out and walked on the rocks during low tide. So beautiful.... Must have lunch at the Castle Hill Inn. Best view of the Bay enjoy a drink on the lawn in the Adirondack chairs so relaxing. So even though it rained a little. Still had a fantastic time.

It might be a gloomy or foggy morning, but is a quiet place to relax and de-stress yourself by just looking out the window of our unit that overlooks a port with calm water and full of boats. This place is so nice, it is near to everything, restaurants, shopping centers and beach. Or you can drive around and see the mansions that you wish you owned one? Not me! Too big! For my eyes only! This resort is nicely situated you can stroll anytime of the day and enjoy a freshly bake cookies from Cookie Jar bakery. Come and stay at Wyndham Inn on Long Wharf, Newport, RI.

If you are looking for more than just a hotel room this is the place. Offering great views from every room, and a really short walk to Thames St. and Americas Cup Ave. You are close enough to everything, yet out of the way enough to simply relax. My family and I loved that we could walk across to the Long Wharf Vacation Resort and use the free movie theatre, indoor/outdoor heated pools, game room, fitness center, and hot tubs. The room was more than I hoped for with two flat screen televisions, granite counter tops, dinnerware, flatware, microwave, toaster, blender, full size fridge, and a jetted tub right in your room!! What more could you ask for? Did I mention there were daily activities for the kids, most were free, and those that were not only cost a few dollars. This is a no brained...we will be back!

I spent the past weekend here with my husband for a little weekend get away. The staff was so pleasant and even called out room during the stay to see if we needed anything. The view from the room was of the ocean and it was just beautiful. The room itself was updated and clean. It had a fill fridge and a kitchenette area. The location was perfect. it was a short walk to the down town area where all the shops, restaurants, and bars are. It was nice to not have to drive and search for parking and also be able to come and go as you please. it was also only about a 10 minute drive to the mansions, cliff walk, and ocean drive. If I had to think of one improvement, it would be that house keeping came to the room every day. Where we were only there 2 nights, we were told that they wouldn't come. For the price point, they should be coming to the room every day. The hotel also had a rooftop that was perfect for watching the sunset over the water and just relaxing with the view. Overall it was an amazing stay and I would stay there again in the future.

This was a timeshare exchange for us! At first glance, the one bedroom set-up is a little strange. The main entry from the hall enters into the bedroom, then you walk through the kitchenette, pass by the bathroom and enter the living room, which has an awesome view of the bay. After thinking about the entry into the bedroom, one realizes that those who are staying with children would have them sleeping on the pull-out couch in the living room, so this makes sense from a safety perspective. Also, this is a quiet resort, so there isn't much issue with hallway noise. The bedroom has adequate clothing storage with it's own television. The bathroom has granite counters with many towels and a hair dryer. The kitchenette is well supplied, nothing I could think of which you would need limited counter space. The location is very close to the Visitors Center, Thames Street, the Historic Area of Newport and Broadway. The entrance to the Cliff Walk is a little over 1/2 mile from this resort, with Bellevue Avenue under 1/2 mile.

This Timeshare location is right in the heart of everything, easy walking distance to tons of shops and restaurants, plus it's right on the water. And don't missed heading up to the roof top for some great views and sunsets. I give it only 3 stars because our one bedroom was poorly laid out...you walk in and are immediately in the bedroom, which is blocked by a wall for the bathroom and kitchenette...then it opens up to the living room with small dinning area, which has the beautiful view of the harbor. So the bedroom is totally in a black whole with no view or air. You can turn on this airflow fan, but it's so loud, I don't know how anyone would be able to actually sleep through it. Plus if you want to just stay in bed and watch the ships go by, too bad for you, you don't see anything from the bedroom. What a waste of a great space! This needs to be remodeled so you walk into the bathroom and kitchenette, which then opens up to your combined bedroom/living room that shares this amazing view.

We are staying in a one Bedroom 5th at the Inn. Great little living room and dining area with a galley kitchen. Nice bedroom and bathroom with a jet / shower tub. Great location for walking to Washington Square and Thames Street. Just a short walk to Wyndham larger resort with pool, etc. Friendly Service from the Staff. We will return.

The Inn on Long Wharf is the best resort to stay at in Newport. We have stayed here twice a year for the last eight years. Best location, best views and a friendly courteous staff. If you are looking for a pleasant trip to Newport this is the resort you should put at the top of your list.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Wyndham. The room was clean, spacious and had everything you needed for your stay. We had a corner room with great views. The front desk was very helpful and efficient at both check in and out

The staff at check-in was more then helpful. The receptionists shared activities at the hotel & around town. They gave me a welcome packet with lots of area information. They recommended reservations for restaurants & offered to assist me. My room had a great view & was immaculate. Parking was not an issue. Great choice!
