We were pleasantly surprised by how wonderful our stay was at the Howard Johnson by Wyndham Newport/Middletown. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The location is ideal—just a short drive to downtown Newport, the beaches, and local attractions, yet peaceful and quiet. The amenities truly stood out, especially the beautiful heated pool, sauna, and jacuzzi spa, which made our stay feel relaxing and indulgent. The free breakfast was another highlight, offering a fantastic assortment with something for everyone, including gluten-free options, avocado, eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, and fresh fruit, just to name a few. The rooms were beautiful, clean, and very comfortable, and the staff was friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Overall, this hotel offers incredible value, comfort, and thoughtful amenities. I will absolutely be coming here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Newport area.

Had a former partner of mine check in for me due to being busy at check in time, found out he was rude and vulgar to check in staff as the reservation was in my name and they demanded to speak to me. I politely let them know he could check in for me - never interacted with any of the staff - after checking out I was informed when making another booking that because of my GUESTS actions I could no longer be a guest at the property. Entirely ridiculous.
